This was super easy to use, for a first time grower. I found the feeding instructions on the bottle were stronger than the plant needed, so I reduced the recommended amount by half of what they suggested.
This stuff is awesome. I would recommend this product to anyone who is using DWC and running a little warmer temps in your res. Produced healthy roots free from any type of algea or grime

Great Tent! Super Reflective walls, made the plant grow evenly and produce super fat buds.

This plant grew easy from start to finish. It was a great learning experience. This plant was very forgiving, I was trying different methods of LST, topping and defoliation and it bounced back every time. I would grow this style again soon. The buds were a bit fluffy, but I plan on adding C02 to the next grow.

Hi all, I am a first time grower, I am doing DWC, and was wondering when I should introduce the general hydropic line of nutrients to my precious little one lol. Just on R.O. PH 5.8 right now. Thanks to all for your help. She is only 5 days young. Thank so very much!

In hydroponics you start feeding from the time their born at 400 ppm, 0.8 ec. You increase the feed by 100 ppm 0.2 ec every week if your seeing good growth. By the 5th week your plants should 18 to 36 inches and ready to go into flower.. Dont go overboard on your nutes and if you see your ph creeping, adjust it. Keep your water cool and watch nutes that are to dark. Canna aqua or Dutch nutrient formula are all I would recommend for hydroponics. Dont go more than 1.8 ec,,1.6 to 1.8 should be good. Cheers

thick and green? or covered in algea? if thick, i'd wager light is hitting them and they are differentiating somewhere between root and stem. This may also be the cause of any root infections - light leak. if algea, still light leak causing it, as that requires light to grow.

don't remove leaves unless overlapping and otherwise congested. Try bending them to new location first. Lollipopping is a double-edge sword. It can often reduce yield, but increase proporiton of higher quality buds... sometims i'm sure oyu can even increase yield if you leave a bit more lower growth. I like to do it. If the plant sheds the leaves down below, so bet it, but i don't cut htem off. I do remove lower leaves if they impedge me watering the plants easily / quickly. you can do it ~15-20 days into bloom and do it 1 time, you could do a little minor spring cleaning before you send it to bloom and a 2nd/3rd sweep later, if you think it'll require taking more than 1/3rd of the plant off at one time. Better to split something like that up and not at certain points that shock would be a bad bad thing. LST / Top, whatever.. just get it done. You want even growth. 1 vertical shoot per 4-6" by 4-6" area. Mix topping with LST in less dense areas. Use apical dominance (tallest) to even out canopy height -- simply bend down taller branches for a day or 3 until shorter limbs catch up. Topping will slow it down too, and you don't have to keep 2 forks if you don't want.. .simply trim off the other one. it's worth your while to keep an even canopy. Distribution of resources will be more equal. Try to limit how many vertical shoots are coming off a branch.. 2-3? You start adding more and you get smaller and smaller colas each time it splits a new vertical shoot. After you bend it over, removing any leaves dragging along ground is a good idea. Anchor in opposite direction to reduce stress on roots. Axillary growth below the bend will typically suffer greatly. Consider removing it. I've tied them up to gain apical dominance, got them fairly even, and it still wasn't as good of bud as the other shoots. So, anything below that initial bend is going to be impacted. keep the plant after the bend as even as possible. How long before you let tip grow vertically? depends on the size of plant you are intending to grow. Timing is about it catching up to the rest of canopy. Simply know how the plant reacts to various things you can do... all tools to shape and form a level canopy that fills out your space in an optimal way. You'll want all the vertical shoots you need as it enters bloom, but the size should be about 70% length by 70% width of what it will grow into 4-5 weeks into bloom phase. (it'll double in size .7*.7=~50%)

You would probably need a 6 inch extractor to help control the humidty . I have had problems with it over the years especially in summer. Dehumidifiers are your best bet , but they are expensive and noisy. If you can't install a dehumidifier then I suggest you keep air flow constant in your tent . Mold will only really grow in stagnant humid air . So if you increase the air flow in the tent you should be able to avoid it. I've flowered in constant 70 percent humidty . But I kept the oscillating fan on them at all times and avoided any problems .

Looking for tips on how to make the buds frosty as possible. Is this more a genetics thing or are there things I can do to max out the trichomes development as much a possible lol. Starting 3rd week of flower and not really noticing any crystals developing yet. Thanks

Patience is all that's needed in this stage my friend keep to your feed schedule. It will be plain sailing from here. Don't worry they will get very frosty strain dependent. If that's what your looking for coated trikes I would suggest trying to grow the stronger stains they tend to have more of a trich development but as a grower has said these buds are very immature. Trike development will usually start after 4 weeks of flower and the amount is strain dependent. I know they are very photo genic but more trikes does not necessarily mean nicer bud its all about the pheno type. from 4 weeks until about 12 weeks flowering your plant will continue to grow new trikes and mature the old ones too so you know its really upto you how much you want and do you want to risk it trying to self pollenate in a chance at more trichs the choice is yours my friend keep up the great work :) πŸ‘Š

Best way to cure your harvest? Any tips or best practices would handy. I know I need mason jars and humidity packs and a dark place. I read I should leave the plant alive but in total darkness for 3 days before I harvest? I am so confused, but I know curing is very important.

When plant is ready to harvest after a flush and fade. Cut down and hang parts upside down in dark. Have slight moving air and humidity around 50 to 60 percent and about 65 to 70 degrees. Having a meter for jars is helpful. To know when to jar. Use crack test on stems. When they crack and make a noise when bent it is jar time. Open jars 2 to 3 times a day for 1st week. Once a day 2nd week. 3rd week about once every 2 to 3 days. 4th week and on about once a week. Good luck and enjoy the harvest. πŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸ‘Š looks tasty. Good job

I have a lot of fluffy buds on the lower parts of the plant. Wondering if adding a CO2 would tighten them up, or what I can do to tighten them up. They look like they will be a waste of energy, next time should I cut those when they are young before they est. bud sites? Thanks

I had one plant that I left them on. This plant produced a large yield. On another plant, I lollipopped it. It produced smaller yield, but denser, tastier buds. Try lollipopping next time.

Wondering when to harvest. I have 2 weeks left, and just starting my flush, I took a picture and most of my trichromes are still clear, but the hairs are 50% amber. Am I gonna make it to milky tri's? how long does that take to happen? Thanks

Hi !

I'm a dwc grower couple of tips for you pal your getting algae at the bottom of your roots some how light is getting into the basket that could cause you a problem further down the line. You have the right idea with the foil try find some Mylar though foil is very temperamental great looking first plant though well done :) πŸ‘Š
TheUk420Show
TheUk420Showcommented4 years ago
@Who_is_grow_are, Yes algea can cause a fair few problems if left to sit worse of all it can attract pathogens that can cause larger problems like root rot and general reduced growth and vigar. Some will argue it does not effect the plant what so ever. Though I would not consider any pathogen in your root zone to be a good thing. though the amount here I would not consider being serious enough to effect the plant that much in a negative way my best advice would be to do as you say and get this one out the way and then modify your pots ect when you have the time/space. I myself have just built a diy system I found a hole saw to work very well at cutting the holes for the baskets :) Either way I'm sure you will sort it any your girl is looking very healthy so you know smiles all around :) also personally I would not defoliate in flower. Its uneeded stress for your lady and she needs healthy growth to maximise them flowers. how people say that the plant will redirect energy is pretty ridiculous. Think about it cannabis has been around for thousands of years she has evolved to produce her biggest and best flowers in order to attract male pollen now if it was beneficial for her to loose growth to maximize flowers dont you think she would of evolved to do so by shedding all her leaves. By removing perfectly healthy fan leaves you are taking away all that surface area of energy that could have been put into growing a larger cola. bend um, Tuck them move them but only ever chop them at last resort or if they are yellowing :)

@TheUk420Show, thanks for the tip. The basket isnt sitting well in the lid. I cut it too big. No going back for this one, just trying to limit as much light seeping thru as I can. The algae will cause problems? Im using Sensizyme to help fight it as well. Fingers crossed I dont have any issues. Thanks again
