Splitting the stem end of flowering period? Do or Don't?

I'm not growing anything at the moment but this is a question I have for many years🙂 Do you guys split the stem on the final week/days of the flowering period? Many believe that it forces the plant to push al the last energy to the buds but I'm not convinced by this. Opinions?

I do it on my Sativa. Worked well especially on the strain that has tendency to keep on sprouting new pistils and fox tail. And I always do it for hemp-like CBD plants. What stem splitting did for me was to let the plant knows that it is time to die. Funny thing is that trichome that was already yellow started to clear up a couple of days after stem splitting. I think it is the last energy thing. New oil was produced and coated over old oxidized trichome. That convinced me. After that trichome cleared up for a couple of days, then the leaves started to die off. And it is harvest time. Opinion, do it just before harvest on slender Sativa. Don't do it on an auto. These plants are on the clock already and don't need help to get ripe. No need to do it on an Indica. I tried it on Northern Light and Kush types. Indica's just didn't seem to notice effect of stem spliting. May be the trunk was too big. And the water can by-pass to the root. Note, that I like the effect of land race Sativa and also grow some CBD. I also grow outside not in a tent. I think stem splitting helped with the long flowering types (14-16 weeks just flowering period). So, it work well for some but not all plants. Cheers

I think that if you remove the pencil that will heal the plant stimulating it to be stronger, 10 days or more to heal (better do not remove the pencil now) also it seems to me a good way to stimulate the plant to produce a little more resin since it will try to attract male pollen for its reproduction in its flowering days, I sincerely believe that you can do the last days, make light and water stress, (in the last 2 or 7 days I think) maybe the plant is stressed too much but that is the objective so that it takes out more resin
