She is growing big and tall and fat!!!!

End of the second week of the stretch and pretty much as expected. One male has gone off early spilling pollen everywhere. The females Id say are a little behind this one but no real worries - we got another 2 males in there ready and waiting to burst at the right time👍. We’ve now pared down the whole tent for pollination and taken cuttings of each fem. Plant for a separate run. Best part there is that we have 3 identified phenos of both indica and sativa dominant traits so we’re gonna get a really even look at what the genetic has to offer, while at the same time being able to isolate desirable traits in the resulting F2 seed. Pretty sick outcome to date 🔥. We moved over to GHE nutes this week to save the Druid nutes for the fem run in the recirc system. Stronger brand for sure, but similar in value and ease. All told, everything is proceeding far better than expected. The rest is just praying that we found a kickass combination in the polyhybrid mix🤞. Till next week yall👊. Background This project has been a year in strain selection (and another year in the actual making) to get to this point with a viable potential cross. It’ll be a true polyhybrid with a mix of sativa and indica leaning properties for each. We’ve combined an especially powerful hybrid sativa strain of Strawberry with an equally manageable and hard hitting strain of indica dominant Skywalker OG. The hope has always been to combine them and boil out the best characteristics of each. The strawberry is phenomenal in terms of terp profile and a mix of strong head and body effects while the Skywalker is a mind bending, body butter kind of indica with that earthy Kush profile and flowery undertones. The strawberry is prone to botrytis and fasciation but features excellent terps and yields if grown correctly. She’s Also stretchy and somewhat unruly when she gets going. The Skywalker is a contrast in growth characteristics with a squat structure, medium sized buds and excellent resilience and resistance. The plan is to seed out the available females and take cuts of what we can post-stretch to get a closer look at any differing phenos. Still very much early stages for a stabilized new strain but we’ve got the right foundation of solid genetics. Now we just gotta get it off the ground to the next generation👍. We’re predominantly focused on the plants that demonstrate that hybrid vigour and wasting no time with any problem plants or runts. September 25 > Harvest at dawn for the big girl. The usual routine... except I shot a time-lapse video this time to play with the camera I won last year. Clipped the top buds first - then the base. Took me 2 hours to wash all that -rinse - repeat. ---------------------------------------- Well this was an interesting summer with this pair of girls. I learned that I don't really need a container larger than 10 gallons in order to grow very large plants (in my neck of the woods anyway). Now when I say large I mean how much space they take up on my patio. I'm allowed to grow 6 legally but 4 eats up pretty much the whole patio. And the reality is I don't need to grow plants that large. The outdoor yield will last well into next year for me and everybody I know. So next summer I plan to do much more serious pruning to limit the scope and shape of the girls I grow outdoors. I also learned that I don't need an inverted tomato cage style support if my container is larger than 5 gallons. The Durban I grew last summer was in a 5 gallon container and there's not enough weight in there to keep her grounded. Once up to 10 gallons you won't want to lift the container much and there's enough weight in there to keep things stable. At the moment I've listed 450g as a dry weight for both plants (updated to 458g final). I haven't actually weighed the 2nd plant yet and won't even trim her for about a week or so (I'll be back to update diary). The first girl came in at 235 grams. I got pretty ruthless throwing away small budlets and trim this morning as it took me 4 hours to take this big girl down and wash her up. That's only because I spent half a day yesterday trimming Cream & Cheese and moving Northern Lights around... and it's been over 95 degrees both days... so I'm ready for a rest. Cannabis harvesting is not easy labor. Diary note > There was a software malfunction a week or so back and I was unable to add a new flowering week, whereupon it was determined there was a limit of 26 weeks at that time... so I didn't add any more weeks after that until the harvest week. When I added the harvest week, it appears the malfunction had been corrected because I COULD HAVE added a new flowering week at that time. I think there's only a week missing. Differences can be noted with dates on the photos. If I had a problem this summer it's because I was too anxious to get going after a long winter nursing shoulder surgery and I didn't pay proper attention to the lighting ramifications when the instructions were there for me, and subsequently started too early. Next year I plan for an early crop of auto flowers to keep me occupied until the proper time for a regular crop. --------------------------------------- September 30 > Trimming and processing complete. I really manhandled the big girl with the Trimbag, largely because I knew I was gonna have a pound of herb on my hands (way more than I will personally consume) and I wanted to minimize my hand trimming. So when I say manhandled here, I mean I ran it through the process TWICE, using about 40 rotations/spins each time. It probably would have helped to be a tad drier, but we're entering a cool spell now and we've run out of time. Mother Nature has decided to turn off the heater... which has turned my Purple Berry Kush a nice shade of purple... but that's tomorrow mornings's harvest... <sigh>... anyway... where was I... oh yeah... AMNESIA... <hehe> Trimbag generated trim on 1st pass = 217 g Trimbag generated trim on 2nd pass = 90 g Trim generated by hand after that = 186 g Final bud weight for big girl = 223 g Clearly, comparing weight of trim generated by hand vs by the Trimbag here you can see the result of my "manhandling". Little girl was in a 10 gallon pot and generated 235 g buds and 360 g trim. Big girl was in a 15 gallon pot and generated 223 g buds and 493 g trim. Final total bud weight 458 grams for both plants. Hope anybody following along learned something this summer. I did. 😎 The trick is to not make the same mistake twice. That's kinda why we're all here. Kinda. ✊

Wow what a strain! The flowers are absolutely caked with trichs, making the flowers look heavily frosted. The smell is pungent and pretty dank smelling. The taste I find to be pretty mild. Where this strain stands out is the very powerful punch it packs! WOW lol this one will have you staring at a blank tv screen for 30 minutes before you remember what you were doing lol no complaints on this strain, have it growing again this run too! Day 117. Trim jail and heavy upload session for 24 hours at least. Don't like to keep photos, so ill upload each plant separately and will delete them. Phone camera is still cracked and off-focus, but they are all nice ! Day 121. Made even bubble hash, if Runtz was white and brownish when dried, Kalini Asias bubble went a bit redish/pinkish/brown after drying, you can easy see difference in colour between Kalini and Blue Dream in photo. Kalini + Blue Dream ended up in 14 g of bubble. Runtz made about 5, smoked it too quick to weight even ;) nice buzz and taste ! Day 128. #3 85, #2 87, #3 68. Buds are nice and closer to dense side, but again result was far from my expectations. This strain is really good, have just find the way to make her bulk, better lolitoping maybe ? .... Lost, but this strain is really really nice by taste and how she grew. Happy Growing !!!

Phew!!! Not going to lie I’m really glad the week is over. After chopping on Friday, the wet trim race was on. My girlfriend and I were stuck inside until 4am Monday morning getting Blueberry OG trimmed! Sooo grateful for her help though. It was long, but well worth it. Set up an AC Infinity 2x2 with a drying net and my AC unit kept the room at about 17c for most of the time. Friday (yesterday), after a week in the net, the smaller buds were feeling a little crispy so I knew it was time and after checking the other buds and doing some other finishing touches I threw them into some grove bags to cure. Now I can finally relax ☺️ Have a great day everyone! You mean so much to me, it’s great to have a community on here. Tropicana flowers 🌞☀️🌤️🌦️🌧️ Plant is 15 cm high because of low stress training. The length is 31 cm. Day 36: Sun is shining, 15-23 degrees, high humidity. Tropicana gets two liters of pure rainwater. Spend the day in my veggie garden working. In the evening I brought some 🐞for Tropicana because I spottet a few lice. My mood changes drastically as I find spider mites eggs, first and second stadium. Don‘t overthink that and decide to defoliate the plant immediately. I prepare a tee out of the leaves which brings fast relaxation. My mood is much better now. Day 37 In the morning with better light I find more spider mites and decide to wash the plant with rainwater. Can‘t find after any more of these little killer dwarfs. I decide to bring more beetles and check the leafs more often. Temperature is felling under 20 degrees, it‘s raining and the humidity is 87%. Day 38 In the early morning I couldn‘t find any mites on Tropicana. Got to continue controlling this in the next weeks regular. I‘m sure they are still there somewhere hidden in a dark spot. 🌦️ 13 - 21 degrees and humidity is around 60-70%. Day 39 🌦️🌧️ Very rainy day. Just let Tropicana enjoy life and tie down the top one more time. 🐞 stay since some days. One on every plant. I think the mites are a result of their start inside and no hygiene at all. Have the same with my peppers some years. 14 - 21 degrees, humidity around 84% Day 40 🌧️☁️🌤️☀️15 degrees, humidity 83% We listen to Roots Reggae, Tropicana is happy and quite busy with producing new roots, I guess. Don‘t understand when to stop low stress training. I think it’s enough now. She needs a rest. Day 41 🌧️⛈️🌧️🌧️ 15 - 19 degrees, humidity up to 89% We had rainfall today around 65 liters of water. I collected enough of it for the next weeks. Day 42 ☀️ 6 - 23 degrees. Humidity is falling. Tropicana enjoys the morning sun while she drinks and drinks and drinks…. Coffee. 😅

She's one of the tallest ones. I love this strain, for me it's a good nighttime - it's especially great at comforting me to sleep if I have a migraine. 😌 Works like a charm every time. I hope this pheno works like the flower I've had.

Since now the plants are ok...zero deficiencies or problems Hopefully next week the plants will start flowering stage.

Just started them all on the Green Buzz Liquid Organics and will run it the rest of the way. I'm not going to add much to the line just some calmag, enzymes maybe terpinator I have to experiment with it a little bit. The first feed went extremely well the plants instantly reacted within an hour after the feed especially the next day. The additives in this line barely raised PPM at all which I liked. It also doesnt stink like other liquid organics I've used. These 2 seem a little slower coming along than the others. I had to do a little defoliation to open up some space but other than that not much to update. Have had some high humidity the past couple days.
