1/10 - Day 56 / Day 28 Flower The nutrient deficiency appears to be getting worse. After some reading, I suspect I may have a pH issue which is causing a nutrient lockout. I gave each of my plants enough water to get some runoff that I could test. When I first tested the runoff, I was getting pH readings of around 5.6-5.8 for my 5 gallons....not good. Way too acidic. I decide to do a flush out of an abundance of caution. I ran about 8 gallons of water that ranged between a pH of 6.5 and 7.2. At a certain point, I ran out of distilled and dechlorinated tap and decided to stop flushing at that point rather than introduce chlorinated tap water. At the end of the flush, I was getting pH readings of around 6.1 and 6.2 for my 5 gallons. Not ideal but should at least mitigate any further damage. Remarkably, some of the leaves that were starting to yellow began to bounce back shortly after the flush. **************************************************** 1/11 - Day 57 / Day 29 Flower The conditions haven't dramatically improved but also haven't appear to get dramatically worse. The leaves that were already yellowing seemed to yellow a bit further but I didn't notice any new leaves yellowing. After still more reading, I think I narrowed the issue down to a magnesium issue. My leaf symptoms seem to match all of the tell tale signs - leaves were turning pale green before fading to yellow, the yellowing was showing up first around the edges but all the veins were still green. Combined with the fact that magnesium lockouts typically occur when the soil is too acidic - I think I found my culprit. Even though the soil was still wet on my 5 gallons, I decided to go ahead and provide a half gallon of distilled water with 5mg of Cal-Mag to each plant. Of course, this was before I read some of the responses to my grow question and this was the exact opposite advice suggested by @BluntZilla who I think has the correct diagnosis of my problem (calcium toxicity causing other nutrient lockouts)... :facepalm: **************************************************** 1/12 - Day 58 / Day 30 Flower Based on the symptoms I'm having, it looks like the biggest nutrient deficiency I'm having is magnesium. In an attempt to mitigate that deficiency, I made a solution combining a gallon of distilled water with two tablespoons of epsom salts and applied as a foliar spray. Started applying this today - once in the morning and once in the evening. **************************************************** 1/14 - Day 60 / Day 32 Flower Watered my plants using spring water until I could produce runoff. The runoff readings were as follows: Z51: - pH = 6.4 - TDS = 1080ppm - EC: 2.2 Z52: - pH = 6.3 - TDS = 1040ppm - EC: 2.1 While it appears my pH is back in a healthy range, my EC readings are a bit higher than I'd like. Ideally, I'm aiming for 1.8 but didn't want to continue shocking my plants with a flush. **************************************************** 1/16 - Day 62 / Day 34 Flower My plants still haven't really turned a corner with the nutrient lockout issues as new leaves continue to succumb to the same symptoms of slow yellowing. Despite these issues, my buds are continuing to develop and becoming more full and dense.

This is my first hydro grow and first time with clones. I have a few semi successful outdoor grows under my belt but the weather (hot AF) and caterpillar apocalypse (lost a beast of a plant and the tops of most others) last year are forcing me inside. Reservoir is an hdx 27 gallon tote with 15 gallons of actual water capacity about 1/4” under net pots. Attached to 1/4 hp active aqua chiller (overkill but got a deal and am in so cal; last years consistent 100+ temps ravaged my outdoor grow and can even make indoor temp regulation difficult) with two 5” and one 4” air stones in main res and one 4” in a 5 gallon top off res (not part of the system until/if I need it) attached to two 15L/minute active aqua air pumps. I wanted to have a bit of a barrier between the ambient temps inside the tent (rest of the room is a/c controlled) and the actual reservoir so I built a base to set the tent sans bottom putting the top of the res at the floor of the tent. This also raises the reservoir off the ground and hoping it will save some back aches once scrog comes into play. This also frees up 16” of vertical space inside tent and although I intend to scrog it should help as a buffer with temps and I won’t have to worry about light distance since plants are at floor level. To keep as much unnecessary heat out of the 4x2 tent the spider farmer light ballast was removed and relocated to outside the tent which I’m glad because during testing the ballast and light are each producing 120 degrees. Half of that is outside the tent allowing the temps inside the tent to stay about around when room temp is about 78 (a/c off but weather is fluctuating) with a small fan at base level and a 6” clip on fan for higher up. Reservoir will be 66-68 at all times thanks to the chiller. For ph management I am going to be using a torus hydro perfect ph (35 gallon). I’m hoping their claims aren’t just hype because they say it removes H+ and OH- ions to allow the ph to maintain 5.8 - 6.2 ph (without any additional buffers). This small fluctuation allows all nutrients to be taken in while a stagnant ph will prevent certain nutrient uptake hence a more complete usage. These are claims among others they made, let’s see if the science is legit. Unfortunately this being my first hydro grow I have no standard to base this off, but if I don’t have to worry about my ph that’s one less worry. Nutrients will be GH flora trio and cal-mag plus hydroguard. Not sure about additional additives, want to keep it pretty basic but suggestions for this nute/strain combo would be appreciated. I was intending on growing wedding cake or venom og but cake was sold out and venom didn’t look great so I ended up coming home with two gelato clones from universal nurseries. I’ve always liked this strain but wanted the cake because I’ve read it’s highly resilient. What I was not expecting was that these would be rooted in neoprene. I’m new to hydro and aside from the research and reading throughout my grows I usually overlooked neoprene. I guess it could be better than the rock wool as it shouldn’t leach and mess with ph? They are surrounded by hydroton and will be hand watered until roots make it to water. Update day 6: I went against my better judgment and initially painted my lid for light leakage. Ended up dumping my entire reservoir two days in because it was full of paint chips (even though it was formulated for plastic it still chipped off in high volume). Used a drill pump from HD, worked well as the intake is a 1/4” pvc tube I could suck up the paint chips and the water, but DO NOT USE to transfer anything but waste water as the output contained grease from the pump! Got a new lid and will just be using panda film for light blockage. Added a small humidifier because rh was in the 30-40 range, now temps and rh are consistently 70 degrees and about 65%. Nutes are 1/4 strength except calimag due likely to stoned math... Plants don’t seem to be minding so I’m not trying to sweat it much. Slight upward drift in ppm and ec as water is taken in or evaporates and ph is slowly swinging in the range torus hydro said it would so that is a success as I have not used any buffers. They claim it is more effective when it can directly interact with a root mass so it seems promising. New growth sprouting all over but no roots have made it out of the net pots. I went with 6” hoping roots will branch laterally exposing move root mass to the air gap once developed. Started noticing slight yellowing of leaves day 4 and some drooping (due to low rh as they perked up after adding humidifier) so I went from 50ml top feed daily to 100ml, also turned light down to 15% and everyone is happy.

D29 - 10.15 - Well frens, they may not recover from this one. All my plants look about like this right now, with all the new growth shriveled and some discoloration showing up on the fans. Plants that did not seem affected before treatment are now showing this. Let me know what you think. My treatment for 3 days in a row may have been far too harsh? Will they recover... How could they? I'd have to remove all of this bad growth... This is devastating :( D30 - 10.16 - I got my bugs and released them in all my areas, even outside my tents haha. I'm gonna rest my aching soul for a week before documenting and checking back in here. Current Status : no new damage is happening and the plants are still growing. Some of the growth is not damaged, so there seems to be a little hope. Everything looks pretty great. Dense fat buds. Humidity is always low. Temperature is okish and them damn gnats seem to be gone for good now. I don’t even see them on my other plants anymore. So like always fingers double-u'd for the final days to be good.

6/21/2021: - Transplanted to final pot. Next cycle, will germinate seed straight into the soil/final pot. - Bought a pump sprayer for even irrigation. - Fed soil a kelp, karanja, neem & coconut water tea. No adverse reactions as of yet. - Soil went hydrophobic before transplant, will water as necessary. - Branch on first node bent from stalk upon transplant, currently being supported by a stake. - Noticing red/purple stalks and branches, very stoked! - Need to re-feed lacto/wild yeast starter. - Need to brew up more kelp tea. 6/23/2021 - Took off support early, split seemed to heal, but has separated once again. Going to manifold, so not too concerned. - Had to water about .7g of water to keep soil moist for duration of day. - 6th node growing vigorously, birth of leaves for 7th node showing. 6/27/2021 - Topped plant for quadlining at the 5th node, cleared all growth under 3rd. - Watered with a mix of coconut water, DIY neem, karanja & kelp extract. - Foliar fed with DIY kelp extract. - Trimmed leaves already giving off great grapefruit aromas. - Pressing trim for framing.

It was finally time to harvest her, what good times we had with her. Amazed with how beautiful this plant is, how easy to manage and train and how rewarding Orange Hill Special is. So we said our thanks and goodbye, thanked her for all the joy she gave while growing her. I realize more and more how I love growing them even more than the end-product. It takes my mind of all going on for a while, in my miniature jungle world in the attic. Im sure all of you just sometimes sit there and watch them, in wonder, dreaming away with a good buzz on, watching them wave in the wind of the fans. So with a heavy hart I apologize, play them their last music, sit with them and feel them and smell them, watch the glistening of the cristals. In the end we had 209 gram dried Orange Hill Special, I will know the total of the grow, in a few days, since the final big whopper still has to dry: my XtraKush, be sure to check the harvest of that one *in couple of days) and see a one-dollar seed outperform two 10 dollar seeds. La verdad no eh tenido muchos problema, todo sigue igual siguiendo el mismo orden de nutrientes, bacterias y hongos benéficos una vez por semana, enzimas ahora se las estoy dando día por medio o cada 3 día. Ya logramos sacar los primeros clones de la watermelon, punch y cookie y la thc bomb. la dss aun la tenemos tirando fuerza que no va mal pero no tenia espacio para más clones. Saludos

Will update smoke report once buds have cured and fermented long enough to where I say they are ready for a legit test. So far I can tell you that this is the most pineapple, tangerine smelling cultivar I have ever come across. I've always heard of the pineapple weed but this is identical to the tropical fruit. This crop also is the fastest flowering crop I have grown in sometime. Harvest in 50 days from flipping into flower. Had some stretching going on with some golf ball / Coney type flowers covered in resin. I am looking forward to smoking on these tropical / citrus flowers.

Started off week 2 of flowering on 11/19. All of the ladies look good with the Tangerine Dream being the only set of clones to start showing bud sights and not just pre-flowering. Did a significant amount of clipping and clipped most of the fan leaves on the main colas of my ladies and side branches too. I also began playing classical music for them! True to it’s genetics my Tangerine Dreams are putting off numerous side branches with side branches coming off those branches! Since flowering my Cotton Candy has grown the most. Before flowering it was just barely half the height of my TDs and now they’re taller! As for the Chronic Thunder it’s always been the tallest but in flowering it’s focus has all been on the side branches without me even topping it.

Blue Dream Xtreme is growing good. She is stretching, but no other signs of flowering yet. I did a solution change today and adjusted level of nutrition. She is a lighter green then others. I need to increase her nitrogen level just a little. She is growing under a Spider Farmer SE5000 light at 70 percent. She is in a New Level Hydro bucket. She started out on a 19/5 light schedule but was switched to 12/12 at 2 weeks into flower as she was sharing a tent with my photo's which had to be flipped. I'm sure this affected her yield and I'll be running this cultivar again using 19/5 throughout the entire run which I'm sure will increase the end yield. I left her alone and didn't do any topping or LST on her throughout her run until she went into flower. Once flowering I only did minimal LST and let her go. She developed 9 or 10 big cola's that ended up looking like they were left outside on a frosty night! This girl took all the nutrients and light I could throw at her (up to 1800ppm and 1200 umol's) and never skipped a beat! Definitely one I'll run again as she's a fun one to cultivate, fast flowering and some potent ass buds! ended up with 78g of frosty flowers, 18g of 'sugar trim' and 1.5g of 'first bounce' sift...97.5g total, not too shabby! This strain's fantastic for pressing too! I have pressed two batches so far using only the smaller/lighter buds and have got 22-25% yields on both, and the end product is amazing!

Grew very fast - typical for Sweet Seeds - and really nice dense buds. Looking forward to vaping this :)

Grow diary 11 Stage 2 Days 11-20 The light schedule was altered to 19/5 on day 11 and the 6 inch distance was maintained until she went into the main tent. Lights on 7pm off 2pm Day 12 was the 1st time she was watered/fed since day 6 when it was soaked for transplant. After day 12 she was fed 300ml every day and the run off checked to make sure everything was in range. Day 18 she was topped after the 2nd set of nodes. She wasn't quite ready yesterday when i did the other 3 strains, and i forgot to take picture's. I'm thinking of removing the lowest set of nodes in a few days and doing a small mainlining project, She was moved into my new main tent (gorilla shorty gt225). The light is my mars hydro TS1000 set at 50% power 20 inch above the canopy. The wilma system is just hydroton/clay balls, and the feeds are on at 8pm for 15mins and on at 12.30pm for 15mins. Day 20 she seems to be adjusting to the topping and the transplant. I'm happy with how the last 9/10 days have gone, its still been mega hot and i have managed to battle the heat quite well so the plants haven't suffered. At the moment all 4 strains are at about the same point in growth. Temp Max 27.8c Avg 23.8c Min 19.4c Humid Max 69.5% Avg 55.7% Min 45.4% VPD Max 1.98 Avg 1.32 Min 0.71 Hope to be back in 10 days without hitting any problems.

Week 8 and the blue dream keeps getting taller and buds are growing slowly, but she seems to be growing very good I also added the led full spectrum lights on the sides for my seedlings since my other two died because i didnt have enough Light and they been helping a lot .. purple lemonade is growing slower but looking good hopefully this next week she does better
