17 Oct 2021 Today is the 45th day of flower, and according to Humboldt Seed Company, my Ladies should be ready to harvest!! I took several trichome pics of each plant today to check and see if they are ready; and they are!! Awesome! I’ll upload all the pics today for your viewing pleasure. Week 15 officially kicked off yesterday, but today is the first entry of the flush in order to get my girls ready for harvest. Each of my plants received a gallon of water with properly adjusted pH. The initial pH for C1 was 6.9, C2 was 7.0, and C3 was 7.1. I added .2ml of pH DOWN to each gallon which adjusted all of them to 6.4. The TDS going in for C1 & C2 was 85 ppm, and C2 was 84 ppm. Runoff measurements were as follows: C1 - pH: 5.8, TDS: 1796 ppm. C2 - pH: 5.7, TDS: 2086 ppm. C3 - pH: 5.6, TDS: 1979 ppm. The tent temp was 82F, and humidity was 42%. My plants are doing great, and I’ll be flushing with fresh water for the remainder of the grow until it’s time to harvest in a week or two. Hopefully they’ll be done in time for the Diary of the Month contest, but in reality, I’ll just be glad when they’re done! Happy growing everyone!! 21 Oct 2021 I have been a lazy bastard lately. I wanted to water my plants two days ago, but didn’t. Then I wanted to water them yesterday, but again, I didn’t. There isn’t any reason really other than just plain laziness. Today I’ve decided to stop being lazy and to continue the flush of my lovely plants! Each plant is getting a gallon of properly pH’ed water and nothing else. The details for each gallon are as follows: Initial pH for C1 & C2 was 7.0, and C3 was 7.1. I added 0.2 ml of pH DOWN to each gallon which adjusted the pH of all 3 gallons to 6.3. That’s what they were given; a gallon of fresh water with a pH of 6.3. The TDS level going in was 58 ppm for C1, and 86 ppm for both C2 & C3. Runoff levels were as follows: C1 - pH 5.9, TDS 1234 ppm. C2 - pH 5.8, TDS 1326 ppm. C3 - pH 5.7, TDS 1182 ppm. The TDS level for all three plants fell significantly from the first flushing a few days ago. Hopefully the levels will continue to drop quickly so the harvest can commence! My ladies are all starting to show their age now by looking at their fan leaves. Some of them have begun that late flower stage dry out, but not many. The plants are still looking great and their buds are starting to weigh down some of the branches. I’m going to get a few more support sticks to keep them from being weighed down too much and breaking. I’d hate to lose anymore branches before I cut them off on purpose. It was truly an honor to raise such a beautiful young lady. Since the first day she has stood out on the others for speed and beauty, managing to become the real Tegridy queen of this round. The buds eventually turned blue-purple and are full of trichomes, they are not very big and full but we have done the strin other times is quite typical, but they are really very beautiful. The structure is very interesting, symmetrical and regular and the tops were perfectly level even without a scrog. It was a pain to cut it but it would certainly be dry to give us unexpected satisfactions. The perfume, the trichomes and the colors have made us energetic, talkative and creative even without tasting it just by looking at it we are crazy. beautiful beautiful beautiful.

Week 8 Flower The last week of flush for these two. They were taken down on Day 56, after a 16 Day flush. I think Twin2 could have finished at 7 weeks, but of course I hadn't planned for this, or I would have flushed sooner. So she was taken to the originally planned 8 weeks. Twin2 has also foxtailed quite a bit, from only slightly higher temps and also because she's having a last attempt at catching any pollen in order to reproduce. Although the pots were slightly damp still when I harvested, it is best to take them down when they're dry. The only reason I didn't, was because I knew I'd be too busy the next day, and there were plants in veg that were desperate to be thrown into the flower tent! The pics do make them look wetter than they were though. Their fan leaves were taken off and they were each hung in seperate boxes, where they'll dry as slowly as possible for between 6-10 days. I dont suffer with very high humidity, so I'm able to do this without any issues. When I feel it is too humid, I simply burp the box for the first day or 2 once a day. The slower the dry the better the buds will taste/smell. Once she's dry enough she'll be trimmed and jarred for curing. It's going to be a pretty tough one for keeper pheno! They both have similar but very different smells. By that I mean, they both smell very floral and sweet, but T2 smells extra sweet (although definitely not as dense). That doesn't mean T1 doesn't smell just as nice. Hers buds are thicker and more dense, so even though I've favourited T2 in the pics, I think I'm leaning towards T1 still. But in all honesty it's still down to dry weight and the taste test! This can all be looked forward to in the harvest update! It's been a seriously fun diary with these two twins. Really impressed with dry harvest amount. 7.8 ounces of buds. I used my trim bowl to trim and came out with 3.5 ounces off trim which will be used for edibles. Really sweet smell coming off these buds. They are lovely.

Thank you to everyone for following this journey! The results were nuts. Honestly, I would've been happy with 40g dry as this is my first grow. I DEFINITELY did not expect this outcome which is insane. This gives me so much confidence in my future grows and appreciation for the companies whose products I used. So, now to the point - Dry weight - Top class buds - 176g, smaller buds - 32g, larf/leaves/scissor hash - 26g. To sum up - 208g of product you can smoke and 26g that'll go to edibles. First grow, 2x2 tent, 100w light, three-part fertilizer and cal mag - that's insane, especially because I was expecting nothing more than 60g and like I mentioned, I would've been happy with 40g. I even thought my scale was broken or something went wrong, I still can't believe I pulled 208g of bud. It took 117 days from seed to smoke - that's disregarding the cure. Seed to flower in 42 days. Flower to harvest in 61 days. 14 days drying. Thank you to FastBuds, I've sent them an email about the grow with some questions and got a speedy reply with some pointers towards the end of the flower. Also, I don't have anything to compare this grow with but I had 0 issues with pests which I was really happy about. I didn't have to spray anything on the plants, didn't have a single bug inside the tent. They mention on the website that NL is a very resilient strain so that might've been because of this specific strain. Spiderfarmer light did amazing too - 208g of bud from 100w light!. General Hydroponics did way better than I expected - there's so many companies with multiple bottles of nutrients that expect you to spend ridiculous amounts of money on their products while I got crazy results with just 3 basic bottles. Cal and Mag by Canna worked with no complaints. Takeaways - seems like the runoff pH doesn't matter in coco - I could be wrong but I struggled with coco pH from the very beginning. Regardless, the outcome speaks for itself. Maybe the harvest would've been even better with an optimal pH but in this particular grow, I don't think it mattered much. Before starting this grow I've done A LOT of research and it looks like it most definitely paid off! I was panicking at first because of the slow growth. The plant also had some leaf deformities and the color wasn't as green as I've expected it to be. It was stressful at first, I think especially because I was constantly comparing my grow to someone else's. This specific LST method where I kept rotating the main stem clockwise every day or two paid off as well. The canopy was relatively even and new tops grew crazy fast. The only thing left to do is to cure the bud. I had two 1.5L containers ready for cure/storing since I didn't expect to pull much but had to go acquire a few more "big boys" to fit all the product in, which is a good problem to have. I don't think that I'll be updating the cure here but the plan is to burp 2x/day for 15-30min each time for the first week and 1x/day for 15-30min the second week. After the first couple of weeks I won't be timing the burps. As of now, I've placed boveda 62% packs inside the containers to maintain a RH of at least 58% in the jars. About the Northern Lights strain - the smell hasn't fully returned yet post trim, but it smells like sweet fruits with a hint of black pepper. You can still smell a bit of pine/grass but I think that'll be gone after the cure. Buds are covered with trichomes, they shine like diamonds when you take a better look. Also, the buds look a little airy but are still really dense when pressed. The smoke - It's a tasty, relaxing high. I get why people describe it as night time smoke but for me personally, it grounds me a bit and I can enjoy it anytime. Also, it burns white ash :)) P.S. Had some issues with the big fan leaves on the lower nodes. They weren’t doing so great, turning brown and brittle so I cut them off today. Hopefully that helps, probably should have done it sooner but I was a little worried I was going to kill it or something. It’s still growing though, lots of new growth and a few branches growing potential bud sites so I think it’s ok. The reason the leaves were dying? Could have been the low humidity. Could have been underwatering (she’s sucking up the water really quickly, needs to be transplanted). Maybe I have the light too close, realized today it’s only 8 inches away, I was just eyeballing it. If you know the proper distance for this Mars Hydro TS1000 LED please comment below. I will be transplanting this week on Thursday when my new Air-pots come. Goals for this week: Figure out exactly how much I should be feeding this thing, it’s possible it needs cal-Mag added to the food? If you know about nutrients please comment below.
