The plant permanently halts vertical growth from that main stem and immediately sends its energy and hormones to the two new, evenly spaced branches just below the cut. Fimming slightly different because a small tuft of the top growth is left behind, the auxin disruption is temporary and less severe. The plant recovers more quickly and sends its energy to multiple surrounding growth points, often creating four or more new shoots from the same spot. It will eventually regain some vertical dominance after a few weeks if left to its own devices, but with a little more LST, bending the apex to the same height as the rest of the internodes, this shatters dominance, hopefully creating around 8-9 main shoots growing at equal height once recovered and grown out. Reduced environmental intensity for now and let her focus on dealing with this new stress for a week or two. When H+ ions are added to soil, the first nutrient displaced from exchange sites is typically aluminum (Al3+), if it's present, followed by calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), and potassium (K+), because aluminum and these base cations have different binding strengths. The order of displacement depends on the lyotropic series, where ions with a higher positive charge and those with weaker binding strengths are displaced first. The specific order of nutrient displacement is determined by the lyotropic series, which ranks the strength with which cations are adsorbed by soil particles: Al3+: Most strongly adsorbed, so if present, it will be displaced by H+ ions, leading to increased solubility of aluminum and potential plant toxicity. Ca2+: Displaced next, as it is more strongly bound than Mg2+ or K+ but less than Al3+. Mg2+ and K+: Displaced after Ca2+. The displaced nutrients can be lost from the root zone through leaching, becoming unavailable to plants. As H+ ions increase, the proportion of acid cations (H+ and Al3+) on the exchange sites increases, while base cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, K+) decrease, resulting in a lower soil pH. The amount of photosynthesis (water splitting) directly determines the availability of H+ ions (protons) in a plant. 90% of water is for cooling of photosynthetic apparatus the other 10% is split for its H+ among others things. Carbon sugars, like glucose, do oxidize in soil through a process primarily driven by microorganisms, which break down these sugars for energy. This oxidation converts the sugars into carbon dioxide (CO2) through cellular respiration, a key part of the soil carbon cycle, though some carbon may also be incorporated into soil organic matter. The rate and extent of sugar oxidation depend on factors like oxygen availability, the presence of Fe oxides, and soil redox conditions, which can all influence the process. My understanding of why we flush. Just plain water, what does it do? Strips the medium of salts and nutrients making it empty. What does that do? Triggers nutrient recycling within the plant. What's nutrient recycling? It is a natural part of plant senescence, which can be triggered once you know the switches. A 24:1 carbon-to-nitrogen ratio will also trigger. Why won't it trigger autophagy for me? Nitrogen needs to be gone, gone, gone almost. Ammoniacal (organic) nitrogen takes 4-5 times more water to separate it from soil particles than nitrates so what happens is most people jist flush the nitrates, leave all the ammoniacal in there and this prevents autophagy initiating. Nitrogen decays differently depending on its form during the dry. Ammoniacal nitrogen will oxidize in the air, leaving no trace. But nitrates do no decay and turn volatile and smelly and remain trapped until smoked, no matter how long you cure it does not oxidize. This is why you need to trigger it and begin the denitrification process prior to harvest to get rid of all the nitrates. Otherwise, you will smoke it. Flush till autophagy begins, just make sure you add no nitrogen afterwards. Micronutrients for trichomes. Don't leave the medium empty for 2 weeks, that does nothing but reduce yield 10%ish. Trichomes are another thing. Trichomes themselves are not directly affected by flushing; rather, flushing affects the plant's nutrient uptake, which influences the development and final state of the trichomes. Trichomes are filled with antioxidants in the last weeks, which is what makes them cloudy. A lot of the processing of antioxidants requires energy and nutrients (mostly micronutrients ), so you don't want that soil empty for 2 weeks, you just want the carbon nitrogen ratio 24:1and no higher. She still wants what she needs to ripen. Processing antioxidants is energy-intensive; heat and light accelerate the rate at which THC converts to CBN. This is why you lower DLI, lower temps. By doing so, you reduce the oxidative workload caused by photosynthesis, which opens up the oxidative capacity for the production of antioxidants. THC is mostly processed at night when the plant's oxidative capacity is generally moreso "free and available" for work

Day 84 -13/01/22 I’ve harvested 4 out of the 20 so far but they seem to be takeing a lot longer than expected!! I think I really slowed them down by training them and it being to cold at night hopefully I can take some more down tomorrow because I really need space!!!!

today with more experience. I see that I made some mistakes, about nutrients and some techniques, but as I repeat this was my second crop. it did not yield as much income as it should, but it was worth it, cultivating and learning.

Yeah I have already written a review about it in my previous diary. It is really strong not a day time smoke... It makes you really high. The plant is very very stinky when you cut so close all the doors and windows!!!!!! Last 2 pictures in the jar was aken after 4 days of the harvest. The harvest day it was 171g and after 4 days 80g. It needs to be cured. After 6 days its weight 51g. The last 6 pictures show the flower after 3 weeks of curing. The best thing in this smoke that it doesn't have that strong smell at all almost nothing but the effect is in :) All the plants grow at least 40-50 cm but it can grow over 100cm as well if you let it. 4 weeks later : I decided to make some cannabutter. Update: Fucking hell I have never tried brownie or tea like this and also I have never been so high. I put one tsp into my tea and felt nothing so decided to repeat with 3 tsp. I went to take a nap and when I woke up I couldn't see I was so fucking high for several hours. Uhhh was great tho.😂✌️✌️ Last 10 pictures: This is what left after almost 3 months of harvest I smoked and cooked it.

Start of week 6 now, Not sure if this is technically in the flowering stage yet, but def seeing more of the white white pistils. Accidentally overdid it a little on nutrients so had a good flush with some ph balanced water and all seems good, just 1 or 2 burn spots on a leaf here and there. Dialling it all back to keep it safe at the moment. I've had to bend the tallest plant over and am using my tent net to secure it for now. Included a few vids this time, so feel free to let me know if you spot any issues. Smell is now noticeable if I leave my grow tent open whilst watering, so glad I got a carbon filter. :D Also had to get a bit inventive to shift the LED lights up a bit as Im using a 160 CM tall tent. I am planning to bend most of the tops down to the net hight, so hopefully this will keep things from getting light burn as still have about 25 inches of space from the net to the LED its self. Watering is around 600 Ml per pot per 24 hrs just now. Edit: 04/09/18 Added 2 more pics, mostly on some of the lowest leafs, noticed some marks, thankfully just 1 or 2, so not widespread and could equally just be a bit of nutrient burn, but thought Id post to see if anyone notices something I dont.

Day 33 ladies and gentlemen it looks like we are finally able to upload diaries and I'm very excited for this and I'm sure the breeders who sent me these seeds are happy as well.. shout out to Sensible Seeds for the opportunity to grow their genetics and showcase them.. this Grape Wine AKA grapefruit is showing signs of being sativa leaning which I believe she is.. this week I implemented silica to all my plants and that's it .. this is my first organic grow the plants are probably half the size of what I'm used to but we'll see when it's all said and done.. hope all is doing well I will be back to update in a few days on the start of week 5.. good luck to everybody and happy growing ✌️😎

Week 8 for Space Panda by Atlasseed, Unfortunately pheno 1 was a bit mishandled and 1 of her mains was broken 😥 from 4 down to 3. Still going to keep her and continue main-lining her she will just end up with 12or15 mains instead of 16. Other than that they both seem fairly happy, growth speed isn't too bad either. Think this strain will absolutely explode when shes transplanted into 25L pot from her insane root production.

06/03/19 - unfortunately this was my own fault for being gullible with a mix of just not thinking, but I got a cal deficiency on my OG which was fitting seeing as everything was going well, but I think I have resolved the problem as I’m not see the new growth being affected but I do think it has slowed down in growth abit but I’m guessing that’s understandable, I’m really happy I’ve turned to mills as I can tell a difference from my previous grows, this slight hiccup was my fault but they were that healthy I’m almost positive it’s gonna spring right back 🤞🏻 09/03/19 - definitely looks like it stopped growing for awhile as the gelatos are a hell of a lot bigger now compare to my OG but I think the problems been solved as their was only a little progression on some of the newer leaves but the newest set of leaves seem unharmed includeding the side branches. 12/03/19 - a lot smaller than the gelatos but never the less I’ve started the LST/leaf braiding with the OG aswell to make sure the side branches catch up as they were stunted from the cal mag def

Switch to flowering stage Day #38 12/12 with red LED light from tonight on. ScrOG net Is on. Pots are still wet, no need to water. I defoliated a little bit, then I'll let the alone for a while. I need to find a environment for the clones. It stresses me a bit but I don't want to kill those 4 little clones, not voluntarily. Day #40 I still tend to water too much but I'm slowly learning. Watered until saturated with Biogrow and Atami B Cuzz a +b (for coco, whatever),a swell I added a bit of magnesium nutrient by Cifo, a garden store brand. Trying to understand how to ScrOG. I built a small growbox with leftovers from my garage. Not a penny was spendt in this operation. Clones are still alive. Starting a new diary. Last night reading blogs I discovered 💡🌟🔆 Photone App 💡🌟🔆, a free grow light meter https://growlightmeter.com/download/ They also have a web guide to establish how much light your canopy needs in the moment https://growlightmeter.com/calculator/ . In pre flower it figured out I need 1100 umol of red LED light (calculation DLI). I adjusted my light height accordingly, It was too close. Very, very useful. Those guys in switzerland deserves a huge kudo. Day #42 Growth Is fast. I snapped a branch trying to ScrOG so I repaired It with wire, as I done with tomato before. Watered with some broth and my own nutrient I use in my garden. I defoliated a Bloom that was facing down. Humidity at 60%, I'm struggling with It a bit. Dehumidifier in the room Is now set at higher setting. Happy growing. Any advice is apreciated.
