Sep 7: what a great plant. Totally love how it’s going. Flowers keep getting fatter and heavier and she’ll be done before the end of September. Sep 8: there a tree root sticking up a bit in my yard which means the plant can be tilted toward the late afternoon sun. This is helpful because the sun is getting really low to the horizon already and we’re down to 13 h of daylight. Plus now direct sun is done in my yard by about 6 pm. Indirect light is okay but you really want direct sun at all times. Videos shows use of 730 nm far red light at dusk. Just a few seconds is all it takes to set the plant into dark mode two hours faster. It’s a bloom booster because you get two bonus hours of darkness or a 26 h day. Very effective but don’t miss a night and you have to adjust the timing each night. When starting this on July 20 Civil Twilight, as listed on timeanddate.com for my location, was at 9:45 and today it was at 8:40 pm. The red light at dusk is a highly recommended trick if you have daily access to your outdoor plants. Also works indoors, of course, and on autos too. Also I think it helps ‘stabilize’ the plant by emphatically putting it into dark mode, and therefore less susceptible to stray light to cause a hermie. Have not had hermie problems in four seasons of using the red light so that is my only ‘proof’ but it is true so far, even with taking flash pics before using the red light. Sep 9: getting heavier and now more branches are weighed down and slumping against the scrog net. Nice problem to have, I know, and without the scrog net some of the branches would be breaking off now. She’s now officially too big and too top heavy to keep moving around the yard in pursuit of direct sun. Sun is much lower to horizon now and direct sun hours are dropping too. Sep 10: getting close to done and getting very top heavy. Awesome. Sep 12: raining today. Has been cool last few nights and some purple colour is just starting to show. I don’t want to overdo fertilizer near the end, but I decided she is showing K deficiency. I’m out of malted barley but I still have potassium silicate, so I used that and some cal-mag. I’m avoiding kelp and molasses or using more P at this late stage because that can make the dried bud hard to burn and that really sucks. So, potassium silicate and cal-mag it is. The potassium silicate raises the pH and it takes about the same volume of vinegar to get the pH down. A good does of acetate is likely good for the bugs in the soil too. Then a squirt of Dr Bronners soap as a surfactant and that also supplies some biodegradable carbon for the bugs in the soil. Seems to work overall and is cheap. Day 20 - she got 16oz of water pH balanced to 6.0~ on Day 16, Day 18, and Day 20. I topped the plant and then defoliated to leave the 3rd and 4th nodes. The 3rd node is being trained to grow laterally until it reaches the container walls. Once the 4th node matures more, it will also be trained just as node 3. The goal is to train and top one more time in veg to ensure maximum yields in this small 2x2x4 tent.

Filling out the trellis net. Looks like another 2-3 weeks until I flip the ladies. Using SST’s, LABS and natural inputs for this grow. I have made some mistakes in the past using Organics, but have figured out HOW to use them for an entire grow. The vegetative state, I have never had a problem with. The transition into the first 3 weeks is when I have had the most issues. After a little research and testing, I finally have a basic blue print of how to feed plants in flower for 10-12 weeks now or shorter. Mark Bowell from Perfect Gardens on YouTube and Mr Canucks Grow from Canada are my largest information inputs. Final Thank you to Mr McGooz for keeping me in the know. 10-11: yes, some of the stalks are turning purple. This is not due to phosphorus, magnesium, or any deficiency. It is due to the light being too intense for the plants. I am at the max distance and running the light at 30% ( it’s a 600 watt 🤣🤣). Soooo yeah, that purple is going to stay for a bit. Purple with other leaf discoloration or senescence IS a problem, purple stems with NO leaf issues isn’t serious issue. Cant it be fixed? We are going to find out….Photosynthesis Plus will be on hand in the next 5-6 days. This permits the plant to USE more of the photons ( yes, I have carbon in my media). This should minimize the purple and allow me to UP THE WATTS 🗣️🗣️ 10-14: spoke to my “guide” and we made the decision to go ahead and flower these ladies. We saw how much stretch there is to be had and realized we are currently filling the trellis by 75%. We are estimating the entire 4x4 area to be completely filled. I defoliated and pruned the smaller sites off the lower areas of the plant. Not quite lollipopping, just selectivity choosing sites to keep and bones that will get in the way. For transition I am using a ratio of 1:1:1 on NPK’s to ease the flip. The ppm’s will be between 750-800. Once we reach early flower, we switch the NPK’s to 1:3:2 ( flower girl by Dr Earth OR Fish bone meal and langbenite). I switch each feeding between the two for 5-6 weeks. At week 7 we switch to 0:3:3 ( seabird guano and Langbeinite) at 500 ppm’s. Week 8 the same feed. Week 9 kelpseaweed/water Only ( these are 10 week cultivars). Yes, normally one freaks out 😂😂😂 The slight deficiency is a sign that I can go ahead and start: The Flowering Cycle. When using Organics, you have to use your eyes because nothing is specific. Meaning: you have to see when the amendments are running out to A: Top Dress B. Make compost teas. We are going the compost tea route for flower. I made a video showing exactly what I use. The ratio is 5-5-5 ( yes earlier we were going to use 2-2-2, but we found out there is no calcium or magnesium in the all purpose mix by Dr Earth…another reason to learn to read your plants).

Alright lads 💪🏻 so we’re starting week 2 today - the girls are all having there own individual issues the joys or running multiple strains again 😂👌🏻, but we’re all looking really wellz so left side is looking a bit N def hungry still so I’ve upped the bio grow to 2ml and the right side is still showing she’s still got some nutes left from repot as shes good I’ve just left that to 1ml bio grow. All the clones are looking nice lush green, all starting to take shape now🕺 wait another 2 weeks until I start to flower them.. and see which of my keepers are as clones then take cutz off them before flowering my actual clones tent, keep the cutz in a separate tent and start popping more seeds of this next round. Either ripper seeds new limited edition or lit seeds can’t decide..😅, anyways gang cheers for stopping by until next week and we can see some bud formation happing 💪🏻 Update - end of week 2 of flowering - I’ve given them all a fair defoliation and taken a lot of lowers of to start focusing it on them tops. Still looking a bit pale lack of N but we should be okay if it seems keep progressing al just up feed to 2ml per litre. Other than that it’s going fairly smooth.

Blue Black x Maple Leaf Indica x White Rhino x Ruderalis 70I-20S-10R Yeah, I’m not used to varieties that put out really tiny buds. Also I learned about bracts and that I falsely refer to bracts as calyxes. But yeah, she is slow with tiny bracts. A subtle smooth flavor/aroma. Can’t really put my finger on it, but I like it. Day 70. That smooth sweet smell is coming through more. A sweet fruity smell with undertones of almost a vanilla type of cream. Maybe the name was inspired by the smell?

Now that Bertha is gone the tent smells Karenish. See you tomorrow! Day 78: Added several more carnivorous plants to the budding collection. Enjoy! Day 79: Fertigated 5l. She's starting to mature now. Frost developing slower, buds fattening and ripening faster. Were maybe two weeks away here. Night 80: Added tent photo and vid. Day 81 update later today. Day 81: Added a lot of media. Got a cheap digital microscope to try and get better micro shots. As you can see Karen is nowhere near yet. Day 82: Things are moving very fast, just look at the difference today. I am certain were with 2 weeks of harvest. Does anyone have advice on flushing/not watering. Fertigated 5l. Day 83: At the current rate of maturation I think the end of next week maybe be harvest time. Height 51cm Day 84: Karens smell is really strong now it washes across your face when you open the tent. End of week summary: A full week of nothing but bud swelling and maturation. I still think she needs another 2 weeks. Unfortunately my living situation has rather abruptly changed and now I have a tough choice to make: harvest/destroy or move plants. There is a strong chance I will chop Karen at the end of next week if she is ready or not.

Day 7 flowering : Hi all . A good week for these Exotic ladies tjisbweek with the flowers starting to show up throughout #1,2 And 3. #4 is a week behind it seems now and has started her flowering too. All of them are looking so healthy and green with some huge fan leaves powering the beginning of stretch. I will be defoliating at around day 21 Flowering and will remove the biggest fans to get light down lower in the plants. The stems on these are so thick already that I am confident they will be holding some nice fat colas up come harvest time. #3 has taken the lead with her actual flowers amd has some golf balls forming up already!!. Thisnpot had the premixed pellets in for feeds and I wonder if that is why she is advanced ?. All in all a good week for them all. I am excited at the prospect of their next few weeks now and am so glad I had the chance to try the genetics. Thank you @exoticseed . I already love these plants and their willingness to grow happily is very endearing.

Day 43. so main change, i lost my mobile and i had really loads of photos and videos of ex grows. i blacklisted it, but still... from now i will reduce amount of post and updates, it is stupid, but i cant risk ... Girls all week on diet, looks like only one Gorilla is starving a bit and would need more, but in my plans last watering with molases this time only. They already had runs with silica only. cal mag only x2. Think worm castings was an isue, control garden grows really fine, will be my smallest plants ever, they will have 3 weeks in total for veg. Happy growing and dont loose your mobiles, huge pain .... Day 48. Gorillas are really nice and i cant denny it, but .... Cookies are worst experience ever... They just dont want to grow and show up new issue the second you fight one.... I even made control garden with more than years old beans of Incredible Bulk and bagseed Strawberry Cough. Both strains grow ok, but not Cookie !!! Thats honestly wrong genetics, unless someone prove me wrong, open for your advices ... Hard training again, still on pure water diet with calmag or silica or molases as small bonus while no feed for two weeks + .... Lights are out because training took longer than i wanted. ... Next week they go to 24 hours darkness and light is changed to 12/12. That was last week of really hard training, now i will wait for green mass of leaves to cover stems and hope they will make some buds ;)) Choose your beans wisier than me ... Happy growing !!!
