He who stops is lost, as an old saying goes I don't know exactly what the origins are, so here's a new Zamnesia season. We are in the middle of winter and despite growing in an area that isn't the warmest in Europe, it's really cold now. It's 16-18 degrees Celsius in the house and we need to bring the temperature of the propagator growbox between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. So we first placed a layer of those 1 cm thick "rubberized" floors that are used for gyms, they are easily found on Amazon and are very useful for insulation. Then a heated resistance mat and then the closed propagator on top. Inside with our seedlings and the light on at minimum 20% we reached 24 degrees, not bad in fact the germination is proceeding very well. 100% opening of the seeds in water and almost all of them are opening in our biodegradable peat pots. ----- Our Ghost Train Haze were the first to open in water and the first to come out of the ground. Really very very fast both, one a little more after about 16 hours was open in water and after about 30 hours in total was out. Spectacle of nature. Hola a todos! Comienza la semana 4 de crecimiento para las AK. Están todas creciendo mas o menos al mismo ritmo, menos la que sufrió quemaduras, que está más lenta que el resto. Seguramente que esta semana o al principio de la siguiente realizaré la poda apical, depende un poco de la "enana". Hay una planta que tiene los bordes de las hojas de color más claro, casi amarillo. ¿Qué puede ser? Si alguien lo sabe, le agradezco su ayuda!

She has slowed her growth and begun putting on quite a bit of heavy buds. The 3 inches of growth is purely due to the increased size of the top cola. She has been drinking much more water so, I have reduced the nutrients per feeding since I am watering much more often. The plant doesn't give off much of an aroma but, if you rub a leaf between your fingers the scent smells similar to Garlic. I have reduced the number of large fan leaves so as to allow more light to reach the lower buds. My huge photoperiod Sativa is about one week away from finishing so, by next week I should be able to move this plant into the 8-foot tall tent. This will allow me more headroom as well as provide some side-lighting. That should help the lower buds to receive more light and hopefully bulk-up. Well, that is it for this week. I hope people are following this grow. I haven't heard from anybody so, it's almost like I am producing this diary for myself.

02.11.'24 After 5 days of drying, this little girl who was a little bigger than a meter gave 950 grams and a little bit of popcorn...this picking was 870 and a little bit of popcorn, and 4-5 weeks ago during a storm, one branch broke, which yielded about 100, but let's say 80 for sure, a total of 950 grams of beautiful, huge, potent buds

Fed/watered with 1 gallon of the above listed nutrients, every 3 days. (when the growing medium becomes 95% dry) Gave her a light selective de-leafing, to open up the inner bud-sites to more light. 📆 Week 9, 7-13 December 2023 7-13 December - Continued with simple adjustment of branches to receive maximum light. There was no defoliation of any leaf this week. Her growth rate has slowed and I believe she is heading in to the bulking stage. I’m satisfied with her size at this point. 8 December - Turned light power from 50% up to 75%, and raised lights from 18” to 21” from top of plant to facilitate the bulking phase of flowering. 📑 Let’s briefly discuss light and umol/m2/s or PPFD. First of all its all about numbers. Is there an agreeable starting point on these figures - the cannabis plant requires between 100-300 PPFD in seedling, 400-700 PPFD in vegetation, and 800-1000 PPFD in flower. It can go up to 1500 PPFD with certain C02 concentrations. I believe this may be generally accepted. Never being much of a numbers person, in ways I avoid it. I’ve grown indoor weed for a long time without a fancy device to tell me what this number was, the plant did that. A quality light and the plant itself will talk to each other in a matter of hours sometimes, days in others, I just need observe. But what I have come to realize the past few years is that these numbers, found in simple instruments (apps for smart phones) give us a very specific area of where she is within all these spectrums. It allows us more precision and insight to what would otherwise be a possible weak or vulnerable spot within our grow. I’ll use mine on a new strain, and to verify any questions. They are easily accessible tools for the common gardner. When we adjust our lights we can measure what will be optimal for our plant. Using my case in point; from: 50% power or 890 PPFD at 18” to: 75% power or 1080 PPFD at 21” **if not raised 3” - that number would have been 1320 PPFD - likely damage the plant - or raised any higher there would be no real benefit in what I’m attempting to achieve - likely waste of power** The 2023 ViperSpectra XS2000 lights (the ones I use) come with a new switch now that go from 25, 50, 75, 100% power and no option in between. So that kind of put a kink in a week or two during my grows I have to work around. Going from 50-75% power is a big shift in light intensity, and these lights are bright. Knowing what that number is and being able to adjust the height precisely to avoid damage is reassuring. I appreciate advancements that make growing a little easier. In most personal grows during flower I’ll go well over 1000 PPFD depending on the strain tolerance, without C02. Here are my experiences why: 1) my set-up allows it, 2) that number only reflects the greatest reading at the highest point on the plant - my reports, 3) when the plant is budding it is absorbing much more photons than when in the leafy only stage - everything is accelerated - this is a totally different discussion, 4) the additional light provided will proportionally increase a higher yield, and finally, 5) some of todays theories on light will change in 5 years, as it has from 10 years before, we still have a lot to research. LEDs are definately cream of the crop, but there is something new to learn I’m sure. Until then I can only tweak what I have in search for a tighter bud, higher in THC. I said I would briefly discuss this subject. Everything is possible with lights. It is science that says the cannabis plant does not have to produce secondary metabolites (trichomes and cannabinoids), in some cases it may not. It produces them based on its environment. Explosive growth this week! Must of doubled in size. Some kind of hungry insects, caterpillars maybe? Minor leaf damage, nothing major. Going to keep up with Neam/Aloe/Kelp spray. No rain in the foreseeable future, 26c every day, early summer for sure. Doesnt appear to need any extra nutrients, will add some more Gaia Green next week. I've had Lupins here for the past few years, which are Legumes and have great nitrogen fixing qualities, not to mention this entire patch of land had 20 years of old decaying blackberry bramble which were cleared 3 years ago when we bought the place, and the soil is some of the richest I've ever seen. No shortage of Nitrogen in there. I'll be honest, this plant is twice the size this time of year then the last 2 years I've been growing outdoors. I'm a little concerned I'll need my ladder come Oct! I did FIM once earlier in the week, will FIM ever 2-3 weeks till July to try and keep the height under control.
