Hi Growmies~! What This Post is About Today, I'll be recording how to cultivate soil microbes at home. These microbes offer numerous benefits, and they are simple to make. How I Came Up with This Technique Since 2014, I’ve tried synthetic growing methods like DWC. While they gave quick results, I often ran into issues with consistency. Nutrients would expire during breaks, meaning I had to keep buying new bottles. I strongly felt I needed a change. A couple of years ago, after taking a break, I started to research and switched to organic growing. At first, it felt overwhelming with all the steps and prep work, but I saw real potential. After experimenting with different methods, I came across Korean Natural Farming (KNF) and JADAM, introduced by Mr. Cho. His simple, ultra low-cost techniques inspired me. They focus on letting nature do the work. While growing, I noticed that synthetic nutrient bottles were expensive, especially when trying to complete a full nutrient set. Organic growing may require more attention and can be costly when investing in organic materials. Preparing the soil in advance and top dressing with dry nutrients every other week - just these two methods were consuming space, time, and money. Indoor farming is unnatural, while organic farming is a natural approach. I had to bring these ideas together, but organic farming often seems geared toward large plots like farms. Incorporating organic techniques into my indoor garden requires a lot of effort and careful calculations. So this is one of my techniques for keeping my plants happy: supporting their daily needs helps them snap out of deficiencies quickly, allowing them to grow consistently. It took me a while to adapt this technique for indoor use. I hope this helps, guys! Supplies Needed - Potatoes: Provide nutrients and food for the microbes. - Sea Salt: Stimulates microbial activity and controls harmful organisms. - Dechlorinated Water: Allows the microbes to grow and multiply. - Compost, leaf mold, or worm castings: Contains natural microorganisms that are key for this process. How to Make (1 gallon) 1 cooked potato (about 2 golf ball-sized) 1 pinch of sea salt 2 tablespoons compost or worm castings 1 gallon dechlorinated water 1. Mix Ingredients: In a clean container, fill it with the dechlorinated water, dissolve the sea salt, and add the compost along with the mashed potato. 2. Ferment: Optionally cover the container and let it sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours. 3. Strain (Optional): After fermentation, you can strain the solution if you prefer a clearer liquid. Note: Watch the timelapse video to see how the microbes activate! **WARNING** Wear gloves if possible and/or avoid contact with open wounds How to Use IMPORTANT: Always dilute the solution before applying it to plants. - Use when bubbles form a "pizza shape" on the surface. - Dilute 5-10 ml per liter of water for bi-weekly feeding. (Test a small batch first to find the best rate for your setup.) - Once the bubbles disappear, the microbes are likely inactive. You can either mix the rest with water as fertilizer or discard it. Pros Promotes Plant Growth - Usually fixes deficiencies in as little as 6 to 72 hours. - Improves nutrient absorption, and helps plants thrive. Boosts Plant Immunity - Works as IPM: Can be used as foliar sprays (no staining on leaves). - Lowers the risk of powdery mildew and other diseases. - Helps the soil ecosystem with beneficial organisms like predatory mites and springtails. - Naturally reduces pest pressure (Less risk of fungus gnats and other pests). Improves Soil Health & Supports Composting - Quickly breaks down organic matter and nutrients. - Makes growing organically in small containers, like 1-gallon pots, easy. - Over time, soil becomes softer and richer, even in small pots. Cost-Effective, Sustainable & Eco-Friendly - No need for complex equipment like pH pens, air pumps, or other tools. - Reduces the need for CalMag, N-P-K, or micronutrient supplements (just add a little bit of sea salt to every watering). - No sugar sources needed in the soil. - Works for all types of plants—houseplants, exotics, ornamentals, and crops. Cons - Limited shelf life; the solution will develop an unpleasant odor after a certain period. 1 Corinthians 10:26

11/16: A few of them are in a bigger hurry than the others, and that's just fine by me....very tired of buying weed to smoke.. I fed them again today with about 1/2 gallon each and put a couple of 24w 3000k bar lights under the canopy to increase light to the lower branches. I also took some photos and a video. 11/17: A few of them are protesting about their proximity to the lights, so I raised them as high as possible, which was only another 4 inches. Hopefully that's enough! 11/18: I checked their moisture levels and rotated the edge plants. 11/19: I watered them today with about 1/2 gallon including bembe, signal, cal-mag, myco, and started them on cha ching. At least one of them will get flushed for the first time at their next feeding. Already fading... 11/20: I rotated some edge plants and started decreasing humidity in the closet. I set the AC Infinity to come on whenever it gets up to 45% RH., plus the new dehumidifier I ordered will be here tomorrow. 11/21: I fed them today with about a half-gallon each. I started cutting back on everything except cal-mag, bembe, signal, and cha ching.

Wish I'd know about this site when she started. In week 9 since dropping the seed. Started Jan. 1st.

12/01/18 Start of week 6 of flower. Buds are continuing to develop. The structures on the ladies vary widely. 1 has long sativa like colas. Another has 9 dominate colas and many many golf ball size side branches. 1 is a runt. amd the other is just ok. There are several phenos in these beans.

Final weeks..

Last week of flowering. Starting straight water in 3 days. Girls should have about 4 days of water before chop. Looking yummy! Can't wait to harvest!

Day 1 It seems like she's a little slow but the smell finally starts to come. No big changes for the rest. I'll probably need to feed her tomorrow. I dropped the temps a little bit. No other changes so far. Day 2 Feeding time! Up with the nutes to 75%... Only the Boost is at 100%. Changed the values above as well :) Day 7 Feeding time. Nutes were at 85%. Boost is at 100%. Changed the values above.

keep forgetting i have this diary going and keep forgetting to keep it updated. these have just been topped dressed and are loving the environment. just starting on the second week of flower.

The cal-mag issue has been handled and is growing strong. They are definitely producing some buds I hit them with a nasty defoliation trying to get humidity down and expose as much light to the nugs as possible. This will be the last time I hit them like this but will be still removing large fan leaves if they get in the way of bud sights. Hopefully lord willing everything will continue to go smoothly and we can get a good harvest.!! Happy growing and god bless.

2018-04-02. Week 3 day 1. It was time too upgrade the 0.1 liter pot too the 1 liter. Did the transplant today. They are a little bit overwatered but i will let them dry out now. This is the newest release from DinaFem seeds. And i will veg her under a Apollo 10 led and flower her in Growroom Nr2 under a 600 w Hps on a light mover. Its a organic grow and i will be using BioBizz nutrients. Strain information. Purple Moby Dick is a child of the legendary Jack Herer that was crossed with PAK. This is a sativa dominant hybrid that contains 60% sativa and 40% indica genetics. The THC content reaches 21% and the smoking brings cerebral effects. This potent plant develops a big structure with lots of branches and can grow up to 3m tall. The flowering period brings amazing purple hues and fruity aromas. The strain needs lots of light, enough space, proper feeding and watering. It has a good mold resistance. The flowering period takes 10 weeks and the harvest brings good yields of 650 g/m2 indoor and 1500 g/plant outdoor. The fat dense buds are coated with mass of crystals. Let’s Go!! Today is day 31 from seed an these lil baby girls are shooting pistols an showing female productions!! Over the past couple weeks these girls been feasting up an building nice thick structures,building themselves up to get ready for pre flower pretty soon !! Everything is going just how we want it, everything is working properly, our air temp an humidity is stayin on point around 70-75 degrees trough the day and a humidity of 55 - 62% ! Always great! Day 23 - These chubby, stubble little chicks finally got tall enough that I could LST the top cola. These girls seem healthy as shit but man I'll be happier as they continue to stretch. It's been hard working in the soil because of all the fan leaves. Worried about future moisture issues. Still have no clue how much to water them. Day 25 - Gave them their first nutes. Used about a third of the recommended pair from the fox farm trio since I'm using Ocean Forest soil. I've heard it's pretty hot, so I just fed with Calmag the last ten days. Continued with training the branches and it's really helping out. The branches are easy to tie down now that they are getting some length. Lights turned down to 82% for the last two days or so. Did some rearranging since the par in the center is slightly higher. My thought is the increased distance to the center will allow me to get balance out the two Pinots since the Sammy is shorter. We will see. I may send that off to live with a buddy if I run out of space. Random - Did I mention one of my other hobbys is home automation? I uploaded a shot of my dashboard that changes every time I get some crazy idea. I have fun messing with it and it keeps me in touch with my plants. Day 29 - two are starting to flower. Removed the humidifier and bumped the light up to 90%. Finally realized what a dry pot weighs so that helps to know when they need water. Time lapses are really helpful for me because I can see how each cola is developing. I can see where I need to tuck fan leaves and focus some lst love. Big momma is complete and going to let her be since I think it’s well distributed. The other Pinot is a few days behind, as is the Sammy. Happy with all Bree so far. Work has begun on the automatic watering system for when I need to leave for a few days

Hello everybody! Hope everyone is doing well with all its going on in the world. Today's week 5 of my clones. They all seem to be doing very well except one leaves her kind of showing signs of lockout. All the others are rooting very well there's a couple of more the roots are coming up the bottom of a cup. 📆 Semana 6 La Alien Moonrocks sigue en plena forma: los cogollos se están desarrollando con fuerza y empiezan a coger una estructura redondeada y densa, con una capa de resina que no deja de aumentar. En cuanto a nutrición, sigo con XpertNutrients y esta semana he continuado aplicando Sticky Fingers, que ya está dejando huella: se nota una mayor explosión de tricomas y un incremento claro en la intensidad aromática. La planta está respondiendo muy bien, sin signos de saturación ni estrés. La iluminación de los Adlite sigue siendo clave, permitiendo una distribución homogénea de luz que está ayudando a formar cogollos compactos incluso en zonas medias. Clima controlado: 22-25 °C de temperatura y humedad en torno al 55%, pero con buena circulación de aire para prevenir cualquier problema. Los aromas comienzan a intensificarse, con notas dulces y un fondo terroso que promete una flor final muy sabrosa. Los tricomas están en su mayoría lechosos, sin señales de ámbar aún, así que seguimos en plena fase de engorde. Una genética con presencia, y cada vez más pegajosa. ¡Seguimos creciendo fuerte! 💪
