Hey Diary! Just wrapped up week 5 of my green project, and we're fully in the blooming stage now! 🌸 Out plant has stretched up beautifully. It seems to be enjoying life just as much as I am. Here's the weekly rundown: Automated Watering: This is cool! I've set up an automated watering system that I can control through a Telegram bot. Hello, technology! 🤖💧 Defoliation: Last week, we did some defoliation, trimming off the unnecessary leaves. This helped the plant focus more on flowering. Sometimes less is more, right? Week 02 Introduction This week has been a bit of a struggle. Had my first experience dealing with slime and brown algae. But I think adding enzymes and increasing the beneficial bacteria helped to fix the issue. Also experienced nutrient burn for the first time. My nutrient solution strength got as high as 671 PPMs. So backed it down to about 430 PPMs during the end-of-week reservoir change. Also cut Hydroguard (expired?), CaliMagic, and Superthrive from this grow. Now she's still stunted, but is starting to recover. Hopefully... [START OF WEEK 02] Day 01 - Monday - 08/10/20 - Total Days: 008 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Still looks a bit yellow. But getting larger! --- Solution strength was at 248 PPMs. --- Just topped off with a bit of distilled water --- PH went up to 6.1 so PH'd down to 5.8 --- Ran the top feed for a bit to wet the hydroton. - [2130]: She's looking even more yellow now. --- Even the new leaves are really yellow. --- Decided to add more base nutes. --- Added 4ml of Sensi A --- Added 4ml of Sensi B --- Now at about --- Solution Strength went up to 304 PPM. --- PH was at 6, --- Also raised the water level a bit more. --- I really hope it's a nutrient deficiency and not an over-watering issue. --- Please live! Day 02 - Tuesday - 08/11/20 - Total Days: 009 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looking less droopy. But still yellow. --- Decided to do a reservoir change. --- 4.5gal of distilled water --- 8ml of Sensi Grow A --- 8ml of Sensi Grow B --- 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- 4ml of B-52 --- 4ml of CaliMagic --- 4ml of Hydroguard --- 4 drops of Superthrive --- PH'd down to 5.8 --- Solution strength: 302 PPM --- Since I didn't want to risk over-watering the rockwool, I did not to do a top feed, may do one tonight after the sleep cycle (lights are still set to go off at 10am and back on at 4pm). --- As I was doing a reservoir change, I noticed that the tubes and bucket were a bit slimy. Didn't really stink or anything. Is this normal? Maybe due to the Hydroguard and Voodoo Juice? --- I hope she gets better soon! - [2215]: Getting larger! But still yellow. --- Also can see a root growing through the net pot! Tiny little thing but it's there! Will have to start dropping water once more appear. --- After looking over a few DWC diaries using AN nutes, seems like my solution strength is still too low. Most around this stage average around 500 PPMs with about 4ml per gallon. --- Top fed for a minute to wet the top of the hydroton. --- Solution strength went down to 263 PPM. --- Added 8ml more of Sensi A --- Added 8ml more of Sensi B --- Now base nutes are at 16ml for 4.5 gal of water. --- PPMs went up to 411. --- Still lower than 500 PPMs, but that's okay. --- PH was at 6. Not sure if I should adjust PH using AN nutes. So going to not ajdust unless PH goes above 6.1. Day 03 - Wednesday - 08/12/20 - Total Days: 010 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looks like more root growth! --- She still looks yellow. But leaves are perky. --- PH was at 6.2 so lowered down to 5.8. --- Solution strength was at 394 PPMs --- Since roots are still growing, I decide to lower the water level a bit. Now water level is a bit below the net pot. - [2200]: Root is getting longer! --- Slime is returning. Not sure why. --- Solution strength: 357 PPMs --- PH: 6.1 --- Decided to add an enzyme along with more beneficial bacteria to hopefully cure the slime. --- Added 16ml of Sensizym --- Added 5ml of Hydroguard --- Added 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- New solution strength: 430 PPMs --- New PH: 6.1 --- Top fed for a minute. --- This slimy residue is really freaking me out! I hope the added enzymes will help eliminate the slime. --- Going to do a full reservoir sterilization/nutrient change over the weekend. Please survive until then girl! Day 04 - Thursday - 08/13/20 - Total Days: 011 ----------------------------------- - [0930]: I think the enzymes worked! There is little to no slime now! --- Although I think the root was also dissolved in the process. It's now just a little stub sticking just below the net pot. The enzyme is also suppose to dissolved dead roots too but guess that root was too weak? Not sure what happened there. But I think the slime is cured! --- Solution strength went down to 395 PPMs. Decided to add more base nutrients. --- Added 8ml of Sensi A --- Added 8ml of Sensi B --- Added 4ml of B-52 --- Solution strength went up to 598 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.1 --- As long as the PH is between 5.5 and 6.3, I'm not going to use PH Up or Down. But still will monitor PH levels. - [1715]: Checked up on her after her nap and shes looking alive but stunted. But no slime! --- Decided to add some sugars to help maintain the enzymes and beneficial bacteria. --- Solution strength was at 587 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.2 --- Added 8ml of Bud Candy --- Solution strength went up to 671 PPMs. --- PH also went up to 6.3 --- Lowered water level a bit to hopefully promote more root growth. --- Top fed for a minute. --- She is getting bigger, but still looks yellow. Day 05 - Friday - 08/14/20 - Total Days: 012 ----------------------------------- - [0915]: Leaves look a little burnt on the tips. Still no slime. --- Going to back off on the PPMs to hopefully fix the nutrient toxicity. --- Solution strength was at 632 PPMs --- PH was at 6.3 --- Added/Removed water until PPMs were at 536. --- PH was still at 6.3 --- Raised water up a bit, then top fed for a minute. - [2200]: Looking better. Still yellow though. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 6.5 --- Added PH down. --- New solution strength: 518 PPMs --- New PH: 5.2 --- PH was kind of high. So decided to PH down. Had to use quite a bit to bring it down. But eventually got it to drop down to 5.3. A little low, but so far, the PH has always gone up so wanted to start it really low. --- Ran the top feed for a minute to re-saturate the top of the hydroton. Day 06 - Saturday - 08/15/20 - Total Days: 013 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: She looks stunted. leaves are still yellow. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 5.6 --- Top fed for a minute. --- Not sure what to do at this point. Going to do another reservoir change soon. Hoping she lives until then. - [2145]: Looking pretty much the same. --- A bit of slime has returned. Since I've been diluting the nutrient solution, the enzyme ratio has dropped. So I guess this is expected. --- Also noticed that slime build up was on the air-stones. Never really checked the stones so not sure how long that has been there. Looks brown too, which can't be good. --- Going to do an H202 sterilization of the system (minus the net pot) tomorrow so did not add anything. --- Lowered the water level to below the net pot. --- Then top fed for a minute. Day 07 - Sunday - 08/16/20 - Total Days: 014 ----------------------------------- - [0900]: STERILIZATION DAY! --- Decided to skip today's night cycle for a deep clean. --- I'm hoping that skipping a night cycle won't be too stressful. --- Temporarily moved her to a new bucket. --- Used about a half of gallon of straight distilled water to flush out the net pot. --- Drained the system and wiped up all the brown sludge. Also removed the air stones and cleaned up all the goo. --- Filled the system with 2 gallons of distilled water and at least 30ml of food grade hydrogen peroxide (35% strength). --- Yea its a lot, but since I'm not going to sterilize the system overnight, I went with a really high doseage. Basically I kept adding until I started to see little bubbles start to form. --- Then I ran the water pump. - [0915]: Boiled the air stones in tap water for about 10 min. Then reconnected them to the airlines. --- I let the air stones and hose soak in the sterilization solution for about 5 minutes so the peroxide can absorb into the stones. Then ran the air stone to help mix and agitate the solution. --- Occasionally, I'd repeat the process of turning the air pump off for a few minutes to let the stones soak. - [1000]: Covered the top two row of holes of the net pot with some aluminum tape. Hopefully this solves the light leaking in through the hydroton. - [1200]: Used an old toothbrush and scrubbed the pump clean. Then drained the system. --- Refilled with more distilled water and peroxide. Again added a lot. --- Ran system again to sterilize even more. - [1530]: Drained the system and refilled with distilled water to rinse. --- Ran the system for a few minutes, then drained and rinsed again. --- Did this a few more times over about an hour. - [1630]: Added 4 gallons of fresh distilled water. --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow A --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow B --- Added 12ml of B-52 --- Added 16ml of Voodoo Juice --- Added 16ml Sensizym --- Solution strength was at 430 PPMs --- PH was at 5.6 --- I was going to add Hydroguard, but I think the bottle is expired. Since 2017 or 2018!? I think Hydroguard is good for up to 2 years from the date on the bottle or 6 months after opening. So not going to use from now on. I wonder if this could have contributed to the slime build up. --- Also removed the CaliMagic and Superthrive too. Going to only use AN products to eliminate the chance of incompatible nutrients. --- Placed her back in the bucket and top fed for a minute. --- Here's hoping for the best. Woche 6 – Die Blüte beginnt! 🌸🍋🍒 Diese Woche hat meine Lemon Cherry Cookies offiziell die Blüte eingeleitet. Nach einer kräftigen Vegetationsphase habe ich mich für ein etwas ungewöhnlicheres Training entschieden und die Pflanze spiralförmig um den Topf geführt. Ziel dabei ist es, möglichst viele Triebe auf eine Höhe zu bringen und gleichzeitig die Mitte der Pflanze zu öffnen. Durch dieses Training entstehen aktuell drei dominante Haupttriebe im Zentrum, die später hoffentlich zu einem massiven Hauptbud zusammenwachsen. Gleichzeitig erhalten die unteren Seitentriebe deutlich mehr Licht, wodurch die gesamte Pflanze gleichmäßiger wachsen kann. Die Lemon Cherry Cookies hat das Training hervorragend verkraftet und zeigt keinerlei Anzeichen von Stress. Das neue Wachstum ist kräftig, die Blätter stehen gesund und die ersten Blütenansätze sind bereits deutlich sichtbar. Bis jetzt entwickelt sie sich zu einer sehr kompakten und buschigen Dame mit kurzen Internodien und einer ausgezeichneten Struktur für die kommende Blütephase. Jetzt beginnt die spannende Zeit und ich freue mich darauf zu sehen, wie sich die Spiral-Technik in den nächsten Wochen auf die Budentwicklung auswirken wird. 🍋 Cherry trifft auf Lemon – und die Reise hat gerade erst begonnen. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Week 6 – Flowering Has Begun! 🌸🍋🍒 This week my Lemon Cherry Cookies officially entered the flowering stage. After a strong vegetative growth phase, I decided to try a slightly different training technique by guiding the plant into a spiral shape around the pot. The goal is to create an even canopy while opening up the center of the plant. This should allow more light to reach all growth sites and encourage stronger development throughout the entire structure. The spiral training has already resulted in three dominant central tops that I hope will eventually develop into one massive flower cluster. At the same time, the lower branches are receiving much better light exposure and are catching up nicely. The plant handled the training exceptionally well and shows no signs of stress. Growth remains vigorous, leaves are healthy, and the first flower sites are becoming clearly visible. So far she is developing into a compact and bushy lady with short internodal spacing and an excellent structure for the flowering phase ahead. Now the exciting part begins, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this spiral training technique influences bud development over the coming weeks. 🍋🍒 Lemon meets Cherry — and the adventure is only getting started. 🚀🌱

Everything in the 2x2 is looking good! Started some LST to open the plants up and get light to all the lower spots. Humidty around 60 to 65 percent bottom watered for the first time in the earthbox. Filled it up until it ran out of the overflow with Springwater. Will water again when chamber goes dry to prevent any root issues so far I am loving the earthbox!

Girls are really full on flowering!!! They all seem super happy! Been trying to get on a better flushing regiment as it seems to really help around harvest with salt build up using general hydroponics nutrients. I can already see some buildup around the fabric pots. Gonna do a basic pesticide foliar spray with azomax. I don’t see any pests but I’d like to keep it that way esp since I’m flowering now. But everything is going as planned and keeping a watchful eye on them. Oh and also did a little defoliation again...the Maui seems to just keep bushing out while the dosi just wants to stretch!! Super impressed with the genetics and resilience of these 2 strains

Gettin a lot of rain this week struggling w humidity when lights go out. Everything is still chugging along buds starting to swell a bit more feel nice and dense.

📆 Semana 6 La Swag MDC sigue a su ritmo… ¡y qué ritmo! Esta semana ha consolidado su estructura floral con cogollos que empiezan a compactarse bien, aunque lo que más llama la atención sigue siendo su morpho swag: esas hojas tan peculiares que la hacen única y que, además, están empezando a cubrirse de tricomas con ganas. A nivel de alimentación, continúo con XpertNutrients, ajustando las dosis para que no se sobrealimente. La respuesta está siendo muy buena, sin signos de bloqueo ni exceso. Se nota que la planta va cómoda, aprovechando cada gota. He afinado también los riegos para no saturar, manteniendo el sustrato activo y bien oxigenado. En cuanto a luz, los Adlite siguen repartiendo calidad a todo el dosel. Esta variedad, al tener una estructura más abierta, está aprovechando especialmente bien la penetración, incluso en los cogollos interiores. El entorno se ha mantenido estable, con temperaturas suaves (22-25 °C) y humedad en torno al 55%, algo alta pero bajo control gracias a una buena ventilación. No hay señales de botritis ni otros problemas, así que seguimos vigilando sin agobios. Los olores están empezando a despertar, con matices que mezclan lo afrutado y lo herbal, pero aún queda bastante por definir. Los tricomas se ven ya lechosos en muchas zonas, aunque sin ámbar, así que estamos justo en ese momento de empuje antes de la recta final. Una planta muy curiosa, distinta en todos los sentidos. ¡Seguimos creciendo fuerte! 💪

Day 27 LST and day 28 when the leaves turned toward the light, starting to see results of topping.

12.5.25: I watered with some more Trace again. She's feeding well and needs watering more often again. I upped the dose of Trace as I've noticed that there are some purple hues coming back on the stems. 13.5.25: I have removed all fabric ties on the plant. I think we have stopped stretching, so the sooner, the better. I keep getting my watering can caught in them all, and it was only a matter of time before I ended up snapping more branches off 😅 The fewer things in my way, the better 🤫 15.5.25: I watered today as the pot had dried out almost. The plant was watered with dechlorinated water PH'd to 6.5 with the following nutrients per 6.5 litres; ♡ 7ml Trace by Ecothrive ♡ 1/2 Tsp Sea K(elp) by Greenleaf nutrients The plants received the amounts below. HULKBERRY: 1l FASTBUDS: 2l NORTHERN LIGHTS: 3.5l I am not giving any further nitrogen at this stage. They had a couple of doses in the past week or so. I'm sure they don't need any more. So, I'm just using the kelp as it's packed full of goodness and high in potassium. I also suspect an excess of phosphorus. So I'm also leaving that out for the time being. There are still some red stems on the plants. added the Ecothrive trace for the last few waterings. I'm hoping it will resolve without any further intervention. 16.5.25: I watered Hulkberry with 1.5ltrs of dechlorinated water PH'd to 6.4 with: ♡ 1/2 Tsp Sea K(elp) by Greenleaf nutrients ♡ 7ml Trace by Ecothrive Measurements per 6.5ltrs. PPM: 670 PH: 6.4 17.5.25: I watered again today with 2ltrs of the above PH'D to 6.2. Parameters remaining the same. The plant is increasingly thirsty, so the waterings have again needed to be increased. As we're reaching deep into flowering, this is par for the course. I'm mostly using coco, perlite worm castings. Etc. So it's very easy for my pots to dry out. I need to keep on top of it. As the pots dry out, the microbes are lost, and so keeping everything moist and healthy is imperative. That's why I add Ecothrive Biosys regularly to ensure I keep up with the microbial life in the soil biology. To avoid PH lockout. 18.5.25: I watered again, with the same parameters as yesterday. Instead of Sea K, I used Ecothrive Biosys: 1/2 Tsp/6.5l PPM: 550 PH: 6.4 Thanks for checking out my diary and hanging out 💚✌️ 🍃 😊 🌱

Day 18 Transplanted today the plants into their 11L pots.😊 While instead i will let the Lemon Tree grow for another 4/5 days in the same pot because she only got 13 days, so I prefer to have it strengthened a little before the transplant. Day 24 Mimosa, Meringue, and Kmintz were Topped, Defoliated and also applied a light LST to the main stems of the plants. I will do the same for the Lemon Tree in the next 2/3 days.. I hope they have a quick recovery 🤞🏻 Day 27 LST also performed on the side branches of all plants except the Kmintz which is too small to bend its branches. Also Today we got 21 days for the Lemon Tree which has a great shape! Carried out topping, LST and a little defoliation.. 🙌🏻 In the next few days I will let them grow them without further stress. This week I performed a good defoliation to clean up the canopy and improve light penetration and airflow. I also added a second scrog net to help support and organize the branches as the plant continues developing in flower. On the positive side, I haven’t seen any more signs of the thrips since the treatment, so hopefully the issue is under control now 🌱💪

Week 5

Girls are still bouncng back lightly. Truthfully I do believe the lack of nutrients the four weeks that they needed calmag cause them alot of stress and will take a toll on the end product but aside from that things still look to be progressing beautifully aside from the deficiency.

Day 29 two full weeks after going to 12/12 and she is drinking herself nearly dry daily. I forgot to soak the blumat carrot in water over night. Will be day behind setting up drip feed. She is coming along lovely and has taken well to LST so far. Leaves overall healthy in appearance and feel. Fed to extra runoff Day 30 adjusted lst ties, fed to runoff pH slurry test results came in at 6.0. Right on track. Ppms may have crept up a little but could be from her drinking herself dry in less than 24hrs. Fed her back into range. Day 31 she was parched at lights on. Setting up blumats tonight. Fed to runoff. Got a little more progressive with LST. She's still stretching so I am trying to keep her as flat as I can right now. Removed 2 leaves for better light penetration. Installed troph blumat and 3 gal res. see photos in this week. Since its drip feed, reduced ppms to 650. Will be closely watching until dialed in. Everything was sterilized with 91% iso alc. Day 32 adjusted blumat to increase drip frequency. Pot was drier than I like it to be. Adjusted some lst points, removed 1 fan leave for increased light penetration. The smell of her buds is changing to an herbal incense green vine. Interesting to say the least. Since coco did dry out a little, I manually fed to runoff before adjusting drip rate. Day 33 she drank nearly a gallon in 24 hours, adjusted blumat slightly again, adjusted lst points. Added 2 gal to res. Day 34 blumat ran away over night and dumped most of the res into my drip pans. Refilled res with fresh nutes and adjusted blumats. Increased feed, ppms and pH are in range in root zone, shes just getting a bigger appetite. Adjusted lights and lst points. Since removing a few large fan leaves, lower bud sites have exploded. Should have a decent harvest top to bottom on this one. First day I have not recorded vertical height change. She had stayed the same height for a full 24hrs. Stretch may have finally ended @ 20 days after start of 12/12. She has filled out about 80% of the grow space (5 sqft). Amazing for only a 2 week veg before 12/12 flip. Day 35 last day of the 3rd week since the "flip" and shes coming along right on schedule. Growth from base to main cola seems to have stalled but growth to side branches appears to be still growing. Possibly because of the 130° bend I put in her stalk. I removed 4 leaves today. I feel like I take one and she makes 5 more.
