I have added a new light and am going to try a super soil grow for the first time. I have a Mephisto Genetics Double Grape between paper towels and waiting to sprout. The space is about 18 inches by 24 inches. The ceiling slopes down, so I don't have much room at the rear of the space. For medium I am using Fox Farms Happy Frog augmented with perlite. The bottom third contains 0.5 pounds autoflower blend of a "super soil" additive from Nature's Living Soil. (https://amzn.to/2PUHc6k) I am using three-gallon cloth pots. The light is a Horticulture Lighting Group 135W QB V2 R-Spec LED kit. NUTRIENTS Tap water pH’d to 6.5. pH lowered using 1.5 TBS unsulfured blackstrap molasses and apple cider vinegar. One-half TBS of vinegar lowered pH about 0.5 points. The medium was very dry. Slowly watered to allow the moisture to be equal throughout the soil ISSUES My while I have yet to put the seed in the dirt, I am concerned about temperatures. They are currently running at about 86F. I would like to get it down to about 80F. DAILY LOG DAY -2: STARTED SEED * Started seed in my traditional manner. Between paper towels soaked in 5% bleach solution, 0.25 tsp/0.5 Cup water. Temp 82F. DAY -1: ACTION *The smallest of tip has appeared. Will put in soil in a few hours. Day 0: SEED PLANTED. * Refrigerator filtered water. pH 6.5. 1 cup (250ml) added very carefully. * Covered with humidity dome. * Light from Soil: 32.5” * Temperature: 82F DAY 1: SPROUT The sprouted seed has shown itself above the soil. A nice Christmas morning surprise. Now I can start counting the days. * Watered with about 200ml of water at pH 6.5. Used apple cider vinegar to lower the tap water pH. * I was pleased to find that my tap water does not contain chloramine. I was reading bad things about chloramine and "living soil." It can kill beneficial microorganisms. All I did was ask my water company and they replied saying "we found no mention of chloramine use in the system:" Just what I wanted to hear. * After looking at other diaries using 250W LEDs, I moved my light down to 25 inches. DAY 2: NO WATER FOR YOU * No watering today. There is plenty of water in the soil and I want the roots to stretch and work. * Working on increasing the humidity and getting more control over the temperature. DAY 3: WATER PLANT, NOT POT. ADDED MYCORRHIZAE. * Following the GrowWeedEasy watering suggestions for Kind Soil * 500ml water at 6.5 pH, around the plant and not across the full 3-gallon bag. * The fan gently moves the seedling to keep it strong. * Had minor unexpected run-off. I hope to avoid that in the future. * Added 1/8 tsp Great White Mycorrhizae dissolved in 100 ml of 50 ml water/50 ml molasses mix. Did not pH as it is such a small amount of solution compares to the watering earlier today. DAY 4: NO WATER, NO PICTURE * Nothing really new. So no reason for a picture. * The soil is dry on top, but the bottom of the pot is still damp. So I will watch it, but I don't expect to water today. * Adding a small intake fan has dropped the temps to about 82F, I think they can live with that. * A humidifier arrives tomorrow and I think that will be my last step to improve the environment. DAY 5: 500ml WATER, LOOKING GOOD * The plant is looking good. The second set of true leaves has a bend, but nothing to worry about. DAY 6: 500ml WATER. NEW HUMIDIFIER * It wasn't really necessary to water today, but I did simply to stay on the schedule I am using. * Given the lightness of the soil and the moving air, I don't anticipate any problems. * Added a humidifier yesterday evening. It's bringing the humidity up, but I need to keep the space closed and I'm a bit concerned about having to provide it with distilled water frequently. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WEEK ONE IN REVIEW ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Watered with 750 ml pH's tap water. Watered slowly to avoid any runoff. * The plant is looking very healthy. It looks as if the roots are really starting to work as the plant is darker green. * Balancing temperature and humidity is tricky, but I think I will be able to get it stabilized with a bit more work. * Target Relative Humidity: Seedlings - 65-70; Vegging - 40-70; Flowering - 40-50 ==> Beginning Next Week I Will Only Post Twice A Week, Mid-week And End Of The Week. <==

Hey now, hope everyone is having a great weekend and staying safe. Another great week for the ladies, as they are now about 2 weeks into flower, and the stretch is winding down. I am still feeding them silica, cal mag, and flower nutrients maxi bloom by GHE. I will start to add a PK booster this week. I also will be switching to light from V1 to F1 sometime this week, and also integrating the UV/IR bar into the light cycle later this week. I will run the UV/IR bar for approximately 30 minutes prior to lights off to get started. The 5X5 is really starting to fill up nicely, I am running two dehumidifiers outside of the tent and I am able to maintain around 50% RH in the tent during lights on, and around 55% RH with lights off. Still very happy with the Spectrum X from Medic Grow. I am running her at 90% in the V1 cycle and will be transitioning to the F1 cycle later this week. Overall, the plants seem very happy and healthy. The temperature and humidity is significantly dropping so that helps keeping the tent cool and not overly humid. This is by far the best time of year to be flowering plants in my region. Data.... So there we have it. Another harvest in the bag and some very nice nugs of Zamnesia Biscotti to wait to dry and cure to perfection. The strain has been great to grow with no issues with anything I threw at it. I didn't see the need to use anything to minimise the iverall size of my plants but went with the nutes to see what the results would be. We will get a better idea once dried and cured with a yield per plant to go with too. I am not expecting g a huge yield based on their overall medium size bit rhe buds look so sweet amd smell amazing of a pineapple type sweet and a fuel type undertone. Wow she's grown 31cm this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now she's 52cm tall!!! Amazing. She looks like she is entering flowering, so as she is on 20/4 light that means she is an autoflower!!! 😍 I still have no idea what breeder she is from though 😭

Day 56 (flowering day 16): My stars of the show right here. These plants are beasts. I can only imagine how they would grow outside. I managed to get #1 as she had just gone to sleep. Her wilted look is due to having enough light for the day so she has dropped off like granny after Christmas Dinner while the kids carry on .lol The structures on these are amazing. They have een slower to flower and I expect a mid Jan 2020 harvest. #1 Sleeping beauty has not missed a beat the whole grow. She continues to wring every last morsel of nutrition from her soil. Tons of bud sites and each branch is looking like a mini version of a whole plant!!. #2 has een moved to the outside for more ligjt and so I can watch her more. she has shown signs of calmag issues so I have made sure to keep that up with the mega crop too. #3 while a lot less wide , has a very thick under belly to her branching. she should support a lot of weight. These ladies will benefit from the earlier harvested strains by getting a light each it seems. let's see what 300w each can do for their lady two weeks. Merry Christmas all

15/10/25 - All watered 2L each 5ml per L Dr organics microben. Im happy these girls can take some abuse because right now im struggling with medical problems. Never needed medicine more than ever and knowing I dont need to eat cheap processed food for the month so I can afford my medication feels amazing. My medical cannabis bill is in the thousands each month and I'd have to skip times I could do with medication just incase next time I neeed it more and as anything medical you only have the supply you have. 🙏 1710/25 - Watered 2L each. Once again, this week starts where the former one ended. With the exception of all the cables you can see in the first picture. I dared to install a minimalized version of the Raspi control only controlling the self-built humidifier and one blower/fan combination. I was very pleased to see how easily the simple diffusor can hold optimum VPD as long as temperatures are high and humidity tends to fall below optimum VPD. A single 10 seconds evaporation can hold the level for about 2–3 minutes. I am not pleased to see the Monsanto blowers rather underperform. It’s impossible to reduce humidity or temperature with both running on full speed, while a lifting of the tent door will bring immediate changes. With the Raspi/Arduino success so far*, I am thinking about using old Power Mac fans which are WCM controllable and use 12 V. At least one to increase air intake, and maybe even the blowers. * It wasn’t any problem at all to have the Arduino collect CO2 and soil moisture data, so after some more cable manufacturing (aka helpless soldering), I could extend the Raspi control. I’m still uncertain about the camera module (@trelorny impressed me with his time lapse videos). I don’t want to put the hardware into the tent with its not so electronics friendly climate, already risking some rare outages of the temp/hum sensor. But the camera module cannot be placed far away. So maybe I’ll use the 3A model I own as a spare part as a camera driver. Any maybe, if it works, invest in a better camera module. Mine is generation 1. Oh, and the ladies! Gave them slightly fertilised water yesterday, and even it or the better VPD yesterday or a combination of both make me believe bud growth is a bit more visible today. The smell in the morning when I open the tent to release accumulated humidity is outstanding. They were already thirsty on day 57 again, so pure RO + a bit of tap water until it spilled out of their pot’s bottoms. Many fan leaves turning autumnally now, and the smallest Sherbet suffered a bit from over-fertilisation as I wrote. But it this stage I don’t go for leaf beauty anymore. Just another learning: Don’t use differently sized pots anymore. Hard to feed them individually this way. VPD was mostly in best range yesterday, and I have the feeling it really supports their bud growth. I added an "Evening time" option to my Raspi control that allows the humidity to sink a selected time before lights shut down. That made it possible to have humidity in best range for most of the night time too. They were even dry again on day 58 morning. Another time just water. The blowers cannot cope with the flowers’ smell anymore, and so sometimes my flat cannot hide who shares it with me. Day 60 presents me with a problem: I’ll leave on Friday for a few days. Considering the microscope pictures are not from the tops buds: Would you say it’s safe to give them another week? Problem solved on day 61. Only clean water from now on, and next week will be their last. You won’t see any new pictures for some days now. Me too … Something I wanted to share with you before I leave: I just finished to update my grow box control with a new PWM fan hat that keeps the Raspi cool, while at the same an infrared sensor can now measure real leaf and additional ambient temperature. Setup is much cleaner and more robust now, but I wish my flux would not make the solder stick to the tip of the machine instead of making it flow and stick at the tiny tiny spots I have to hit …

Heya growmies. She finally started stetching this week, unfortunatly in the middle of the week i dropped the fan on her AGAIN, and she broke and also lost a topside. Once again, the plant didn't seem to mind, it happened during dark period so its not caught on camera, you can barely tell when it happened on the timelapse. Day 69 flower, the ladies have become very fat! the white hairs are also slowly turning orange!

Day 71 I didn't label the plants so I don't know which is Sheryl or Candace anymore. I'm also not sure what I did different to have such varying results. One is thick, the other is not worth trimming. Based on camera zoom photos it looks like we're at 10% amber trichomes, which means it's likely the last week. Lesson: Label each plant, take better notes. I bottom watered 6.5ph 1tsp of Terp Tea Bloom in 15oz each. Possibly the last watering. I ordered a digital microscope so I can be sure on the trichomes. Day 72 Microscope came in. It's not great but it was $15 so... anyhow I could see that the chunky girl is ready with high amber trich count (30%) upper plant and about 10% in the lower buds. I put her in dark and will chop tomorrow. The skinny girl that pissed me off last week has about 5% amber trichomes so she got fed and watered. Additionally, she stacked up and put on some weight. Nothing too crazy but it's noticeable. I'll give her another week or two. By the time the chunky plant is done drying (HerbsNOW dryer) and in a jar, the skinny plant won't be skinny anymore and she'll be ready to come down.

The growth of the Blue Dream continued to be poor, I still don't know what the problem is. I dug up the plant to rule out root rot. What I could see was that the roots had developed extremely poorly. I don't know what is wrong with the plant, it is being treated 1:1 in the same way as the Moby Dick. The plants have been defoliated so far and I'm curious to see how things will progress over the next few weeks.

This week is going great. Transplanted these ladies into their 7 gal pots amended with Gaia Green. They are doing good after the transplant.
