Plants look,smell, and feel amazing. I think they've put on most of their weight now and the buds are starting to get really cloudy! I started the slightly older plant in the front on her flush at the end of this week. I believe the one in the back seems to be a week or 2 behind.

Week 11 Veg - Mentha de Croco Mutants Hello, Grow Diaries fam! 🌱✨ This week’s update is all about setting up for the big transition—we’re finally flipping these beauties into flower! But before we do, I took some important steps to ensure a smooth transition. Defoliation & Why It Matters Before Flower Before the flip, I gave them a thorough defoliation, clearing out lower and overcrowded leaves. Why? Because: More Light Penetration – Helps lower bud sites develop properly. Better Airflow – Reduces humidity buildup and risk of mold. Focused Energy – Encourages the plant to put energy into strong bud production instead of unnecessary foliage. Of course, balance is key—I trimmed enough to open things up but left plenty for healthy growth. Final Pre-Flip Routine • Temps & RH: Holding steady at 22°C with 66% RH, keeping conditions ideal before flower. • 💧 Nutrients: Running the Aptus Holland Clean Feeding Approach with: • Regulator for plant resilience. • RO Water Conditioner to balance pH and improve uptake. • System Clean, even though I’m not using a hydro system, to keep the root zone optimal. • All-in-One Liquid, which is now the primary nutrient source. • 🔄 Watering: Still bottom-watering to keep gnats away and encourage strong root growth. 36-48 Hours of Darkness Before the Flip Before switching the room to 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness, I’ll be giving them a 36-48 hour dark period. This technique helps signal the plants that it’s time to transition, leading to a faster and stronger flower initiation. Photography & Details Of course, my Sony A6000 was in action, capturing all the unique traits of these mutants after defoliation. The leaves, the structures, the roots OMG the roots and the crazy details on each plant continue to impress me. I’ll be sharing some macro shots soon! We are in Flush !! Was giving them GH Flora series + rapid start + cal mag

Lots of pistils coming out. It looks like kind of a mix of its parent strains, which makes sense. I was going to do some final defoliation this week, but the colas are all pretty well spaced out and they're growing so fast you can practically see it with the naked eye. Idk if the added stress from further defoliating the bottom will be worthwhile right now. Dec 26. I went ahead with the defoliation. This always happens, it's just scary to cut pieces off your beautiful babies when they're thriving. But this is the perfect time to do it, when they're healthy and growing strong. Whether or not it helps yield, it will still help with airflow and most importantly, it will allow me to see into the plant to catch any problems before its too late. Several of the leaves I took off were yellowing already. It was hard to take the healthy ones that had been there a long time, but it's for the best. I didn't go overboard, and I can see a lot more of the bud sites now. Things are looking great. I can't get good lighting for photos unfortunately.
