I received this mother from a friend. My intent is to flower it out and let it ride with my three Autoflowers. Once my Autos are done this gets switched to flower. Let’s see how big she gets.
I had to pull down the branches already to keep it from growing above my Autos. I put them on top 5 gallon buckets to raise them up enough to try to even out the canopy.
I also topped the main four branches to slow the vertical growth and keep her short.
More topping of any branch this is growing fast. The goal is the maintain this plant for as long as possible while my Autoflowers are running. Looking like it’s going to be a challenge because this plant is growing like crazy.
I keep pulling more branches down as far as I can.
Took out some inner leaves that were not getting much light to help with airflow in the tent.
I sprouted all my outdoor pepper plants this week so they will also be taking up space till they can go outside.
Again the growth is going crazy this week. I’m not sure if I will have enough room as my autos just started flowering. Going to be close.
Every week I am topping and pulling down branches. I’ve noticed she got a slight big of neon green leaves so I gave her 2.0 EC feed. Bounced back in two days.
I’ve taken tons of leaves off and do so nearly every day. Doesn’t look like I have touched it.
She has been drinking up nearly every single day and I cannot keep up with the water demand. I was holding off on the transplant because I did not want to promote more growth still but I had to due to her drinking so much.
She got a major upgrade from a 1 gallon pot to a 7 gallon pot. I used 50% Happy Frog Soil, 25% Peralite and 25% Worm Castings. I also mix in two solo cups with of high calcium organic fertilizer which I source locally. It is essentially pelletized chicken shit. Amazing stuff. I also used Mykos Extreme at transplant and spread heavily onto the roots and the hole.
You can see she was ready for a new home and was heavily root bound.
Well like usual I’m trying to keep her in check but there is really not much I can do at this point. Every branch has been topped numerous times. I’ve pulled the main branches down as much as I can without breaking. I have not given her any Silica because the end goal is to SCROG the hell out of her so I will need to be flexible. I’m guessing there are now roughly 50 branches on this mother. She is officially taking up an entire 2x4 tent worth of space at the moment.
This week I removed about 30% of her leaves. It was a bushy mess and honestly I didn’t care if it stunted the growth right now because it’s getting too big for the space.
With 7 gallons of dirt and two gallons of water it has become a giant pain in the ass changing out the drip tray after every feeding. I also cannot reach the very back of the pot for watering because my tent has poor access on the left side so I resort to pouring down a PVC pipe. It works great.
My autoflowers have a few weeks left I think so this tent is going to be TIGHT. I’m hoping I can get my garden plants out of the tent this coming week as well to free up more room.
My Autoflowers are nearly ready and I’m pretty excited to get this plant flowering.
I’ve been feeding 2 gallons every other day and she is drinking it up well. Still a giant pain to move the drip tray because this plant is heavy!!
In the matter of two-three days she filled right back out with leaves. I have removed nearly all the foliage underneath that will not be utilized. I only topped a few branches that were really growing out to the sides that were impeding on my autos.
The Autoflowers were harvested this week which freed up the whole tent. So I bleached everything down and moved her into the tent all alone.
I drilled a hole in the drip tray and installed a bulkhead for drainage. I then made a small 6” platform to raise it up to fit a small basin underneath to catch all the run off. I was done lifting the plant up. Works like a charm and makes life easy.
Installed the SCROG net. Squares are 2.5” x 2.5”. The first day I was able to shrink her down by about 1 foot. Spread her all out and nearly every square is filled except the corners. I expect I will get them all full during the first week of stretch. I removed roughly 15 branches that were never going to reach the surface. Some squares may have 2-3 nodes coming up each so I expect it to be very tight on the surface.
I’m giving her one week to settle in after this major stress event and then switching to flower. She is huge and the stem is big enough you cannot fit your fingers around it and touch.
First week into flower. Flipped May 19th.
I continue to tuck and fill the canopy. Nearly the entire 4x4 tent is filled now with this single plant. She grows so fast and produces so many leaves it’s crazy.
I continuously remove fan leaves that are covering up other bud sites. The canopy is very dense. Some squares have 3-4 large branches coming up. Hopefully this won’t be too much of an issue but there was nowhere to put them.
I bumped my feed up to 2.3 EC. She was looking very hungry. Having to feed every other day. Possibly bumping it up to every day soon to help with the demand.
Top of the canopy is averaging roughly 750 PAR at the moment. I plan to raise that as well next week to get nearly 900.
Week 3 has come and gone. I think the stretch is now over. I got roughly 8” of growth on top of my net. Hopefully all 8” fills up with nice bud.
I counted over 150 top bud sites. Goal is the get at least 14 grams per bud site.
The frost production on this plant is out of control. Week three and you can already see trichomes producing on the fan leaves. I have been having to take off close to 50-70 leaves a week in order to keep proper airflow. She is so packed in the net I'm afraid of low airflow once they start getting fat.
Only downfall so far is this plant develops loads of leaf. Hopefully that stops during the bulking phase.
I keep bumping the nutrients up and she is taking every bit of it. Currently at 2.8ec. She was drinking tons during the stretch but has now gone back to normal amounts. I’m reverting back to every other day watering since last water I got nearly 50% run off.
So far the smell is exactly like you open a bag of fruity pebbles. It’s not quite there when you open the tent but once you rub some bud it’s undoubtedly fruity pebbles smell.
Hopefully we start seeing the mass put on in the next few weeks. 1/3 of the way done with flower already and she has been doing great.
This week I started to notice my stems getting dark purple and the leaf showing signs of a magnesium deficiency. This is the largest indoor plant I’ve grown so I was worried about some issue of nutrient depletion happening during flower.
I added magnesium sulfate to my mix at a rate of 1/8 teaspoon per feeding. This is on top of my already 4ml per gallon of Cal/Mag. I should have noticed that I was getting nearly 50% run off all of a sudden after my stretch phase was over. I thought it was just done sucking up as much water but it was indeed a magnesium deficient that finally showed itself two weeks later.
After the first dose of the Magnesium Sulfate. The very next day the plant sucked down WAY more water. It’s amazing how fast these plants can fix their problems if provided the correct environment and nutrients.
The bud development is amazing so far and it’s looking like I will have some great 7-8” tops.
Frost production is next level. I have 5 weeks to go and it’s unbelievably frosty on the buds and already working out to fan leafs.
Time to start packing on the mass!
Week five in flower and not much change. The buds are starting to bulk up and get fat. I have noticed a color shift in the bud as well. They are developing a pink/purple hue with a gray undertone. It’s an unusual color because it’s very pastel looking.
Frost production is still on high, these things are coated like crazy already.
Magnesium issue has now stopped, I’ve been adding 1/16 teaspoon of magnesium sulfate to the water every time to keep up with the demand for this large plant.
Smell is very strong and hits you hard when you open the tent. When rubbing the bud I pick up a fruity pebbles smell.
So far watering every other day and she is sucking down about a gallon a day of water. Run off pH was reading 6.5 which has been spot on this entire grow so far.
Not much of a change this week.
Buds are getting fat. Smell is intense. Buds are getting very dense and cannot squeeze them at all now.
Dealing with a phosphorus deficiency and have increased the blood feed and PK Boost to help out.
I’m now having to water daily. She is taking up tons of water right now.
Same old same old. No changes this week at all. Having changed it up to watering every day has made a huge difference and this plant is really bulking.
My guess will be another 2 weeks till chop time.
The smell is very strong and when rubbing a leaf I still pick up a fruit smell.
One more week to go! This has defiantly been a fun grow for sure and I think if I run a single plant like this again I will have a 10-15g pot. I also will fill my scrog net and give it a week of two and flip to grow a taller canopy.
This week the trichomes are really starting to turn. Bud is VERY dense and packed full of crystals. Smell is crazy strong. I’m picking up citrus and fruit loops without a doubt so I wonder how it’s going to smell after dry/cure.
Buds are pretty nice sized as you can see from the comparison of the lighter. The thing is I’ll have over 150 of them tops I believe… haha
Nothing has changed this week. I have started to remove any old fan leaf that has been spent. My plan is to slowly remove as many as I can that are pretty much spent by the time I harvest so I do not have to spend much time on that when I cut her down.
I have started only water feeding with about 3 gallons of water each feed to leach out any build up. Will do this daily.
Hopefully next weeks update will be a lot of harvest shots.
Straight water this last week and she sure has changed colors. A pale pink/purple look everywhere.
Entire 4x4 tent willed with one plant. Looking forward to seeing the final yields.
Seeing a good amount of amber/cloudy Trichomes so it’s time to chop.
So far the only downside to this strain is the massive amount of leaf production. It’s way too much to be honest.
