Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Hey Guys! Here we go again.. I have been busy this week so i am letting the pictures and video speak for itself😎. I took PH and PPM and checked the RH so you can check where i am right now (i just did it to check the bigger rig so everything works)👌. I also upped the nuts a bit just to get them to 1000 ppm 😊. What we want is perfect condition and we are getting there slowly but surely...🙏🙌😏 Edit: Lets talk about this GSC, She is catching up even though she took some calcium and magnesium deficiency early but she will still be a thick one. Some nutrient problems but nothing serious so i am not worried about it. I will feed some calmag for the GSC and Diesel this week. She is picky in my opinion. But get it right and she will reward with a quality yield i guess. I have learned a lot this grow so for the next harvest she will have slightly better settings. I am thinking that i might invest in better soil and down the nuts and run calmag from start for all my "kushy" strains. Don't forget to leave a like! Until next time Cheers! 👊

We have had another very hot week. All my girls are suffering and display some ugly looking leaves. But so far the buds are doing well. Especially Plant 2, the mainlined plant, is producing some seriously fat buds. The smell is very interesting. Plant 1 measures 59 cm and Plant 2 is 73 cm tall.

Hey grow fam, weekly update on these ladies. They've definitely rooted and are starting there journey upward. All are looking great and showing signs of daily growth. I started adding calmag to my feeds and will start grow nutes this week. Over all Happy

I have now given the plants a third feed of the greenhouse feeds bio line. Plants remain healthy with just light defoliation now and then. Still no smell though?

11/08 - I have never had a plant with more trichomes on it... I defoliated a couple of days ago and it was akin to doing a wet trim - fingers and scissors were all sticky! @SwissKush told me it would be filled with resin but not even that warning prepared me for this! Just amazing... Her buds are bulking up and I'm just in awe... just in awe... 11/10 - changed out her reservoir yesterday and was very interested to note that her root system is about half of what my #2's is... which only makes sense given the abuse I showered on this lady at the beginning of her life. One result of that is a far more compact plant ... but damn is she frosty! She's looking good, happy with her new and elevated nutes.... all's well! 11/12 - Happy as a clam, buds are all bulking up and everything is frosty... Still have plenty of weeks (4?) to go. 11/14 - Have had a houseguest for the last couple of days... while I love some company once in a while, it really interferes with my daily routine so I've missed a few of the daily photos. She's doing well and just keeps getting frostier and frostier!

Welcome back everyone, As you can see are almost all seedlings growing. Some where still in the soil. Might happend when giving water(seedlings can turn or get deeper), checked it out and they are alive and well. All pictures are from day 4. The humidifier had been added, so I had to adjust the room. I spotted a corner of the room that gets dryer faster. I adjust the fan for now and see what happens. Corners are always hard to get perfect. Sometimes the light, air, watering doesn't come there properly. Seedlings don't need much nutrients, neighter do autoflowers. with normal soil I would recommend to only give water for 1-2 weeks, since it holds nutrients in it as well. But since I'm using Cocos for this grow, I might have to add some basic nutrients in the upcomming week. For this week I gave/give only water turns and Startbooster/rhyzotonic turns. Update day 5: - Lowerd the lights to avoid stretching, they are now at 75cm distance from lamp to pots. I want them at 40-50 cm, but I don't want to rush it. - Added another layer of cocos to avoid the soil from drying up therefore the roots from dying. This will happen because of lowering the lamps down, the soil will get exposed more to heat. As you can see, the humidifier is doing his thing haha. Pictures and videos where taken without the lights + fans on. because of that, it will look like this. Still fun thought. Arround 7 seeds didn't reach the surface yet, lets hope they make there way up soon. Enjoy!
