The honeydew fallout from the spotted lanternflys in the maple tree above have gotten out of hand. It's almost a constant mist. The only thing I could think to do beside moving them like an ancient Egyptian was adding a protective canopy of some sort. I wanted to get the clear poly weave but this green one was half price so went with it instead. With the way I have it oriented, it doesn't really block out that much direct sun too. In the morning and afternoon the angle of the sun is able to shine right on the plants. It's kind of a win win because should decrease my chances of mold later down the road towards harvest time if it does decide to rain a bunch. I tried washing the plants once this week with some light soap and water with a little baking soda mixed in. I rinsed with cone setting with hose right after and the plants were praying next day but i didn't have canopy up yet so they got hit again. I spotted several pale green assassin bugs on my plants so now Im a little nervous about washing the plants again because I want to keep them around. They are nymphs right now I may try to collect the ones i see become cleaning the plants one last time. Hanging that canopy was one of the more frustrating things I've done in a while. I wasn't sure If or how it would work but I has some medium gauge synthetic rope I tied to the eyelets and eventual 4 tree limbs. I had to bounce back and forth to get it tension climbing my fruit trees and 8 foot ladder. I originally disassembled an unused tomato trellis i built to use some of the lumber to build a post to tie off on in one corner but it ended up being at the wrong angle relative to the tarp and I started to get worried if a storm ripped it out of the ground. So I opted to used only the surrounding trees. After getting it all tension I realized that it was to far to one side leaving two of the plants almost exposed, so I had to come back the next day and re adjust but now I have it in a pretty good spot. I survived a decent storm already this week. Just hope it lasts. Overall making outside feel slightly leas stressful and anticipating more of a good harvest rather than just an experiment with my first outdoor grown.

Her smell is super pure and fruity I love growing organically,this strain no matter if the phenotype is purple or green has a very intense and powerful mango aroma, I'll never get tired of growing this strain man! Love it! 💚

1/14/24 - Day 68 - Hello and welcome to water change day!!!! Another easy water change in the books. Currently, the nutes are being applied and mixed. Something I have been adding this entire grow is the root armor. It's an additive to the water, it takes the naturally decomposing organic material from the roots and turns it back into nutrients that the plant can use. I have used it every week thus far. The last grow I forgot I got a small bottle of it. I was able to purchase a much bigger bottle for from the Leaf store. That's one more thing that's awesome about the Leaf box. They have EVERYTHING you need to grow and the pricing is fantastic. 1/17/24 - Day 71 - Everything is looking great. I'm noticing the buds are starting to grow outward and get bigger. Its also getting much smelly in there! Ill keep updating with pictures every few days.

I switched her to flowering. After returning from my Holiday I decided I would be moving cities. I wanted to veg her longer but switched the bulbs at 8 weeks. I am finally able to sleep in the dark! This rocks! Ive also been removing a lot of the excess leaf growth just to keep her fresh and not too crowded. The cardboard screen was removed and I used 4 chopsticks to press down on the lower branches and press the tops a little further apart; This really helped to space the branches out wider and allow light to breakthrough on some of the lower nodes. I started feeding her a little bit of molasses in her water, just to aid in the flowering. I also added wood ash to the top layer before watering. Also a little compost tea every now and then.

This was a week. The drama at the beginning was one of the fans falling down onto my gorilla cookies. It snapped a branch off really bad but the girl hung onto it by threads. I duct taped her up and somehow took. 😎😢 I defoliated and did a little lst on a couple of the girls. Nothing major. Also increased the light to 80% now. I think I'll stay there until late flower when I switch to 12/12. I also added blocks to a couple of the girls to make the canopy level. That put the light at 15" as recommended by Medic Grow. Strawberry Banana is growing ok. I added one row of blocks to raise her up. Lst tied one branch off to the side. I'm hoping she starts to pick up in the week. I see potential but we'll see. This girl is coming along really nicely starting to see a bit more too her now. I have up'd the big bud nutrients this week so hopefully it "puts the big in your buds" increasing both their size and quality! It has been about 2 weeks now since I nearly snapped a branch clean off. I strapped and propped the snapped branch to the main stem as soon as it happen but when I check it the next day it had slipped I did worry as I wasn't sure how long it had been apart but I re-strapped it and hoped for the best. So far the branch still looks healthy and I haven't noticed any issues with it at all. The branch looks as if it is healing really well so hopefully she pulls through. Happy growing 🌱

Week 7 green space looking lovely

Hey now! This week went pretty well, I did notice my EC of my runoff was getting pretty high on day 65, it got up to about 1.9, and my nutrient solution going in was at 1.6. I ended up mixing a bucket of my normal fertilizer, and hand watering all the places my drip ring wasn't really hitting, and i got the EC back down to about 1.7. I also got a tip from MrJones to setup some type of support for the colas. I ended up tying some 550 (parachute) cord across the top of my tent poles, then I ties little loops around the colas with the same soft cord. I then used wire ties to attach the loops to the 550 cord. I also am slowly reducing my EC, as I believe I only have a couple weeks left. I am also going to be switching from Liquid KoolBloom to Dry KoolBloom at some point later in week 10. If anyone has any experience on the correct timing of this switch to ripening formula, please hit me up! I am still struggling a bit with heat and humidity, and am considering buying another dehumidifier for my next grow. As always, Thank you to everyone for all of your encouragement, support and tips!! Not as good of a week that it has been they shot up about foot and got lil stressed and light bleached bud stop growing under the optic 6 not smelling as good had to throw the net away so couldn’t lower the plant due to net shoot up so fast maybe I learn and I’ll try do it better next time
