🌱 Week 11 Update 🌱

Chemical reactions in which, a single substance splits up into two or more simpler substances are called decomposition reactions. These reactions are carried out by energy, supplied by different sources. The required energy can be supplied by heat (thermolysis), electricity (electrolysis), or light (photolysis). Let’s talk about photolysis reactions (not photosynthesis): Photolysis (also called photodissociation and photodecomposition) is a chemical reaction, in which a chemical (an inorganic or an organic) is broken down by photons and is the interaction of one or more photons with one target molecule. The photolysis reaction is not limited to the effects of visible light, but any photon with sufficient energy (higher than the dissociation energy of the targeted bond) can cause the chemical transformation of the said (inorganic or organic) bond(s) of a chemical. Since the energy of a photon is inversely proportional to the wavelength, electromagnetic waves with the energy of visible light or higher, such as ultraviolet light, X-rays, and γ -rays, can also initiate photolysis reactions. Like all other peroxides, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) also consists of a relatively weaker O−O bond, which is susceptible to light or heat. The net equation for the reaction is: 2H2O2⟶2H2O+O2 The step-wise reaction mechanism is suggested as follows (Ref.1): H2O2+hν⟶2HO∙ HO∙+H2O2⟶HO−O∙+H2O HO−O∙+H2O2⟶2HO∙+H2O+O2 Using isotope studies it was confirmed that the O2 formed is cleanly derived from H2O2 (Ref.2). Notes: The rate increases rapidly in the presence of catalysts such as MnO2 and KI (Ref.2). The rate of decomposition is slow at room temperature, but it increases with temperature. It is believed to be due to thermal decomposition of H2O2, which seemingly accelerates the photolysis (Ref.3). References: 1.J. P. Hunt, H. Interestingly, as early as 1934 Haber and Weiss (Ref. 1) proposed that HO2∙ is formed in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. The subsequent reaction of the transient superoxide radical anion with hydrogen peroxide has been determined to also form the hydroxyl radical (Ref. 2). The higher pH version of the last reaction is, therefore, best represented as: O2∙−+H2O2⟶2HO∙+OH−+O2 And as H++OH−=H2O, the net product formation is not altered. However, alkaline H2O2 is well known to be less stable than acidic hydrogen peroxide (Ref.3) even in absence of light exposure, which accelerates its decomposition (which can involve radical pathways) liberating oxygen! Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of flowering. Showed around my yard a bit. Lots of nectar giving plants and bushes for the humming bird's, butterfly's and bee's. Smells wonderful in here With the LemonPaya and the RainBow Melon in here it smells like tropical skunk. Yum. The plants are growing well and everything seems good. The buds are bulking up and getting sticky. OK. Be Great. Chuck.

Hi, we’re back for week 3 of the vegetative stage. It’s not great… I decided to repot my plant into a larger container with a new nutrient-free substrate. I went for a coco-perlite mix and placed it in an 8.5-liter pot. The plant hasn’t really grown since last week, so I put it under an Autopot dome to maintain better humidity. As you can see when I zoom in, it’s struggling to get going, with very little visible growth. I kept the COB lighting to maximize vegetative growth while avoiding too much heat. Conditions are stable: around 25°C and 50% humidity in the grow tent. That’s not very high, so I added a small water tray to try to boost humidity a bit. For the parameters, pH stays around 6. I slightly increased EC to 1.2 and switched my base nutrients to the Athena line: Grow A, Grow B, and CalMag. Let’s see if these changes pay off next week. See you then, bye!

9-15 Day 21 She had a hair showing when she woke! Top dressing others, so I got her too! Sprinkled HP connect on surface lightly! Sprinkled a little bit of craft blend, small amount of worm poo, TOPPED with Build-a-Flower. Around 1 inch across. Recovered with straw. Did not bloom boost her. Yucca 1/16tsp and humic 1/8tsp 6.5 liters water. Ph 6.0. My ecowitt is a little off on this pot. Caused me to over water the pot. Fed 355 ppm and just had a slight cup of water, I had to drain out. Oops. Shes short and poppin! 9-18 Day 24 Watered around 1000 ml. She probably coulda took 500 more. Removed very bottom leafs, were laying on the ground. Just did some fancy leaf tucking to expose the sites! She grows! 9-21 Gave 2k ml ph 6.4 Tea brewed 30ish hrs. Worm poo, recharge, kelp, yucca and 1 tsp build-a-bloom ,molasses. 3 gallons water. Adjusted lst, some defoliation. lower buds and blocking leaves, full on flower! Thanks!

Another week has passed, and we're closer to the end than I estimated. I chopped their mom on Day 70 and expected similar for her offspring, but we're now on Day 49, and the girls look to be done in a week or two. I've started seeing more frost, which indicates that the trichomes are turning cloudy. No amber yet, though. So there's that. It will take a while longer. But 21 days? With the senescence I'm seeing? Week 5 - One more excite week, smelling much strong, nugs are becoming bigger each day it past. OG still very healthy and thirst. Brazilian summer its almost to begin, air temperature inside the grow box it start to get warm, around 28º to 30º. Anxious to see what this baby can do, Harvest time is coming 😍 Cheers from Brazil.

The two northern lights auto are dry. Together 45g before drytrim. Not too bad, concidering the cloudy, wet weather..

Ready to flip into flower in 3 days , this Friday just letting the terminator get into the plants system before the flip and letting the plants spring back after A defoliation before the transition into flower , planning on using canna A + B , terpinator , massive bloom and PK - 13/14 together

Moving right along! Got a second tent for smaller plants. So I can start the flowering cycle with the gorillas. Looking forward to see what happens in the coming months! 😃💚

Day 56 Adjusting the trellis, I broke a branch, right at the stem. It was under the main and not receiving much light anyway, so... Also did a deep defoliation on NYD3. Got rid of anything that won't produce keepers. Trying to finish strong (14 days left).💪🏾💪🏾 Day 58 One leaf on each plant was discolored. No major fade yet. Each have a distinct smell. #2 smells like old school refer. It gives a real nostalgic 80s vibe. #3 smells like pine and Bengal. Watered top and bottom, with just a bit of CalMag. Day 60 48oz of pH 6.8 water. 1 or 2 leaves showing small amount of yellow, but nothing resembling fade. The canopy is green green, like she can go another month. A few of the nugs are impressive, but could be better if I had defoliated better. 60% of the bud sites are small and roughly 40 to 50% dense (assuming 100% is rock hard). Water, tucking, and plucking for the remainder. Day 62 It's a 70 day strain and with 8 days to go, there is no fade. Frustrating since I am over cooking my other plant for the sake of these two. They haven't done anything in over a week. Maybe that last heavy defoliation stunted them. So sad. Buying a jewelers loop tomorrow to check trichomes. The only other thing that could be delaying the fade is that I top dressed them both with Terp Tea Bloom. Maybe that top per gallon is hot and takes more than 2 weeks to be used up. I'm going to flush it tonight. Not even sure I should care about pH because I want it locked out from nutrient uptake. They just shouldn't be this dark green at this stage.🙄☹️😕😤 Ok so I pulled off the trellis net and LST ties, defoliated some more, and flushed both with 1 gallon each of distilled water. Added a little 3% peroxide to NYD3. Day 63 I figured it out. I made compost tea for NYD#1 to address a suspected deficiency. I gave these two some of it, and they didn't need it. It was half way thru flower. I followed that by top dressing with the new nutes. Lesson learned. What's good for the goose is NOT good for the gander.

I think 💭 that I might just grow this for a third time the yeild was amazing plus almost a half pound in hash. IM in love with SeedsMan early skunk00
