Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. This was an amazing firat grow and I’m not done yet love mainlining. Depending on how these dry and the yields come out I may just do lst and get about the same amount of yield out of the grow but I still have another week or so till I chop the others

Hey now, hope everyone is staying safe, good week for the Red Hot Cookies, she is still looking a little deformed with her leaves, but she is green and healthy. The Medic Grow is still running at 30% in the V1 or vegetative stage which is the mostly blue spectrum. I am watering them every other day or so with a small syringe around the edge of the solo cups. I am hoping to transplant them i about 48 hours to 3.4 gallon airpots and hook them up to an automatic fertigation system that feeds every 6 hours or so. Tough week lol after some trial and error due to germinating in paper towel and placing directly into 3 gal pot killed the first seed of seeds I believe due to under watering :( Tried germinating in paper towel this time, THEN transferred to peat pellet once root came out about 1/2 inch. Misted top and placed in a tray with a humidity dome and a heating mat, keeping temp around 81. Waiting til 2-3 leaves come up so I can transfer. Anyone know if I should be adding light yet? Or no? Thanks everyone!! If it wasn’t for ur advice I would no be here lol. 🌱🌱🌱 til next week 🙏🏼

I did a lot of defoliation work this week. Plants look very naked now. 😻 But more light for the buds 😛 = Less leaves = less water (-25%) The plants don't make many few new flowers anymore. Half of the plants have nice fat buds, swelling and getting hard. 💪 Pistils turn brown. The other half is much slower ripening. Some have foxtail buds and will need more time to ripen. 👻 Some plants are very small and will have low yield. 😏 One plant (#15) is extremely fat 😝

Dam the cold weather was crazy but we made it threw it we had frost for a few days .. I put the ladies I to the garage and was happy to say they thrived with Windsor light . Unfortunately 😞 my youngest son pulled the dinamed CBD out and she died rip . But we move on and she will live on in memory with the #bluecheese .. dinafem has. A great strain going here she smells so good ..

Took them out the tent so I can clean the grow room & tent. The ladies look amazing in natural light.will flip to flower in 7 days. Transplanted into a 25 gallon bag, lollipops and placed under a scrog. I also had to super crop some branches for it to fit below the scrog.

Day 49 - what can I say, she looks incredible! These nugs are frosty as hell and swelling FAST. She stinks of sweet gelato and rotten fruit 🤮. The purple looks amazing. I really have no concerns this week. She looks in perfect health. No training or defoliation necessary. Happy growing! I gave her 5L of treated water, the same concentrations as last week and she drank it right up. Water into those edges people. Day 53 - Not a huge amount to say she's developing so well! I just gave her another 5L of treated water, same concentrations as last time. No more training necessary 😋 stunning purple hues Day 56 - watered again, these buds are foxtailing I just can't help feeling annoyed I snapped that branch off in the second week. oh well! At the and of the week all lST supporting thenfs were removed: canopy is formed and all the stems are hardened. The progress is very slow, but I like how the plant looks, it seems to be healthy and has more flowering points than I've seen on any autos I grew before. I also adjusted the fertilizers ratios to get more optimal for flowering stage and added pH-down to improve the solution assimilation.

Keeping the canopy even and making sure there is sufficient airflow thru the plant. Still seeing a couple leaves with holes but not much anymore. Took off a few branches that weren’t getting enough light.

Besides the nutrients above, they received UAN 32-0-0, liquid worm castings, Neptune’s 2-6-4, Neptune’s seaweed 0-0-1, TPS chelated calmag, and molasses. The roots seem to be bigger than the plant atm, from extra use of Mykos and azos... I would definitely expect exponential growth in the next 3 weeks. The plants are exactly where I wanted them size wise for day 21. At least 10-12 strong bud sites already each plant and they definitely smell danker than most plants I’ve grown before.
