Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Week 7 of flower and I opened the tent and it looked and smelled amazing 🤩 I took a few photos and than I checked for herms and other problems… Hidden in the middle behind the bigger buds from DW1 I found some yellow sugar leafs and of course it is bud rot. I remove the whole branch and checked it in detail outside the tent. At the moment I have no idea what I have to do now. I will start a google research and than I hope I can safe the plans from further problems. Sad day... Update After a few minutes of reading, I killed and removed the plant. I tried to clean everything as good as possible with alcohol. I ripped every cola in small pieces to check, on the outside everything looked very good, but I found two other mold spots deep inside the bud. Let's hope for the best. I changed the airflow and the inline fan to the maximum. Update 2 Omg, I am so stupid. I was very surprised because of the bud rot. Yes the humidity is a bit to high, but not that bad and everything was setup with a lot a passion. I grow tomatoes and peppers since 2016 and never had problems. Then I discovered my very big mistake. I connected the air circulation on the same power as the lights so 12 hours per day only the inline fan and I have no idea for how long. 😭 I only checked the plants after the lights went on and today I checked a few minutes earlier. Hope that will fix it.

Obvious indicas starting to bulk. sativas still stretching.. Started upping additives for resin and terpene production. Not sure if it's worth it on unknown strains, but giving it a go anyway.. They get wider, bigger, and firmer. They are already starting to smell very tasty. This week it was poured 3 times with 1.2 l each (nutrients see table above). Unfortunately I found a couple of single trips that tell me that the trips still haven't completely disappeared. Since I'm not a neem at this stage I will inject more oil and the lady has already finished over half of her cycle, I will let her run like this and the newcomers will be treated again 👍. So I hope that at the next round all of them will finally be gone. I had the problem more than 5 years ago and it took a long time until everything was ok again and there was no animal left. Day 50, 29.05.2024 - Starting the week at 43cm height - No action today but to render timelapse for last week & watch them bloom. Day 51, 30.05.2024 - 600ml with nutrition (1ml grow, 3ml bloom, 4ml TopMax) for each as breakfast shortly after the lights turned on - removed 4 more leaves there were yellow. I think it has to do with the recent cut down on nutritions. This is why I will get back to the recommended fertilizer schedule in 48h with the next feeding. Day 52, 31.05.2024 No action today. Day 53, 01.06.2024 A round of drinks (600ml each) and food (4/4/4ml of grow, bloom & TopMax). Day 54, 01.06.2024 No action today. Day 55, 03.06.2024 - I am observing some more leafs getting yellow. I guess the plant is recovering N from the lower leaves to feed the buds. - Later today they will get their next feeding (600ml each, - again with 4/4/4ml of Grow, Bloom & TopMax) Day 56, 04.06.2024 "No action today" concludes week 8. All in all until today the grow is quite easy. No big issues. I just hope the yellowing of leafs will stop / revert after resuming to the standard nutrition schedule. So, I guess there are 3 weeks to go before harvest - let's keep em dry!

Blüte geht voran. Die Raubmilben Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) cucumeris sind schnell da gewesen 🙏 Ich hoffe, sie halten den Thripsbefall bis zum Ende der Blüte unter Kontrolle. Bisher kann ich noch nicht viel zu den Terps sagen, sehr dezent alles. Zudem haben die Pflanzen die Tage zum ersten Mal einzeln einen Fermakor-Hydrolysat als Blütenbooster in sehr gering konzentrierter Dosis erhalten. Danke geht hier nochmal raus @yan420 Ich verspreche mir durch die direkte Verfügbarkeit der Nährstoffe P und K und den Aminosäuren einen metabolismischen Boost. Bin auf die Endergebnisse wie immer sehr gespannt.
