Steady as she goes 🎶 Week 5

Hi everyone 🤗. The last 5 women are nearing their end 😍. They will be harvested in the next 2-3 weeks. The rest of the ones that have already been harvested are currently fermenting 😍. The finished harvest pictures come when everyone is finished together 👍. This ends the last diary that was kept with several varieties. Not bad for a one gallon and rain water. Frosty, smells amazing and will be harvesting in a day. She was faster than the diary says because of the memes. 🏻💚

Medicine is expensive and, luckily, I am now able to grow my own where I live. I started growing in this 2x4 Gorilla Lite tent and "piece-meal'ed" my setup together. I started with one Mars Hydro TS1000 and was fortunate enough to get a second one before I started flowering. I used a 6-inch AC Infinity fan for exhaust and a 4 inch AC Infinity intake fan. Using a Gorilla carbon filter and it works great.. I added an Exhale CO2 bag at this time not really realizing that it wouldn't do much good for a few weeks still... It's impossible to find oscillating clip on fans where I live so I had to make do with some non-oscillating fans. Grew in 100% Purple Cow Indicanja soil and did not give ANY nutrients during the vegetative stage (they did just fine). I probably under-watered versus over-watered for quite some time as folks at the friendly local grow store kept telling me that I'd inevitably overwater at some point as a first time grower so I waited a long time in between watering fairly often...

The not so little now really is growing well😊. Had to get it in another box to keep good temperature. I keep doing some defoliation Time to Time.

Hello Folks been a hot week this week so an ongoing battle with temps and humidity...😐 Week # 2 from switched lights, the girl is really stretching and exploding with growth. I must say Renaissance is very sensitive to light, nutrients as well as Ph fluctuations so I really have to keep an eye on this one. The plant B (used to be in middle), developed balls so had to be discarded, is now been replaced by the White Widow Pheno #2 ... All the girls, including this one, have been flushed twice this week. I am waiting for a few more days, then will defoliate all the girls again. Right now she is stretching and I am just adjusting her accordingly and LST ongoing. She is healthy I would say and I am hoping for a colorful garden given that no unnecessary fuck up occurs... ✊

What a week, So I did a run off test end of last week and they was really high, but I would like to address the DNA Mills cork as I am using this in just one pot (A) to try it out I used 3/4 (B) to my normal coco in another pot 50:50 (C) in another at a 1/4 (D) then when just my normal coco mix ( E) and I havent seen much difference other then the retention of water... UNTILL NOW. So evaluating all my reading I have from run off this is how it WAS sitting running water with an EC 0.7 Ms/cm A - 2.4 Ms/cm B - 2.3 Ms/cm C - 2.0 Ms/cm D - 1.9 Ms/cm E - 1.5 Ms/cm So my conclusion is that I dont like the cork maybe I'm using it wrong somehow I dont know but in my experience, it seems to be grabbing hold of all the salts and not letting go, so this week I ran litres and litres of water through them to bring them down I can only get A down to 1.4 Ms/cm and am struggling to get it any further down does anyone have any suggestions. As for the deficiency I was supposed to I produce the PK booster beginning of this week and couldn't with the run off being so high, well that's what I'm hoping anyways 😂. Plant A doesn't seem to be swelling like the rest (front left in pictures) I'm hoping this is down to genetics if anyone else has any thought I'd love to hear them. Solid in growing in the right direction, I like the sweet time they're taking also, im sure to see a different yield I think.

March 4: start flowering The plant looks wet because i have to put her under the sink for 12h darkness lol the humidity rises in the closet but thats ok for the first 2 weeks of flower as this will boost the root growth. The flower room is at 55% humidity and 22celcius. Im waiting for spring temperatures so i can turn off that dehumidifier. Final 2 pictures are day 5 Thanks for stoppin by

Day 1 Flower (Day 43) Wooohoooo! First day of flower! I decided to flip both plants after all. The thing is that I will be fully vaccinated against Corona by mid-July, and when that is done, I'm off on vacation. After 1,5 years of this pandemic crap, I'm more than ready to travel again, to see the world, meet new people, and have new experiences. So yeah, this strain is supposed to be a fast flowering strain (45 days!), so mid-July should do it. I switched to the Flower Induction light recipe in my main tent, and I will let that recipe run for some days before I switch over to the regular Flower recipe. The tiny tent has nothing so fancy and was switched to a regular 12/12 schedule. Speaking about lights. That cheap budget light that I bought for my veggies when I moved in my ViparSpectra light into the tiny tent broke down after only two days. So much for trying to save a bit by buying something cheap. I've already sent it back and won't get another light as I think the tomatoes and chilis are ready to move outside. I'll wait and buy this fall instead, but I won't go for the cheapest light I can find then. lol I was foliar feeding the girls with filtered compost tea while they were still sleeping. I only spray when the lights are out to avoid any leaf burns. A few hours later, after the girls woke up, I gave them each around 3 liters of unfiltered pH 6.2 compost tea. I FINALLY remembered to pH the compost tea. Woooooo!!! That was all today. Day 2 Flower (Day 44) Today was a really busy day. I opened the tents, took pics, closed up the tents. Phew! Exhausting. Day 3 Flower (Day 45) Alright, today was a bit more work than yesterday but still fairly relaxed. I watered the girls; the left one got 3 liters, and the right one got 4.5 liters of pH 6.0 water. I noticed a bit of light bleaching on the girl in the small tent, so I turned down the light a bit and increased the distance to the canopy. It is very tight in there, but that is expected with such a small tent. I will need to raise the light more in the future, and I'll probably have to resort to a bit of MacGyver-ism to make it work but that's a problem for a later day. The girl in the main tent has a bit of an uneven canopy where the left side is taller, so I raised the left light as the light level was around 1300 PPFD. I also super-cropped half a dozen branches to slow them down and let the rest of the canopy catch up. It's probably the last training I do before the girls go into flower. Finally, I did a bit of defoliating by removing a few leaves that weren't getting any light low down on the girls. Day 4 Flower (Day 46) Fuck. Disaster struck. I opened the main tent today and found that the CO2 bag had fallen down and broken one of the main branches. That one branch is responsible for about a quarter of the canopy, so losing it would suck. I got busy right away taping the broken branch and used some old chili stalks to support the branch further. I also watered it with around 1.5 liters of pH 6.5 water hoping that it will be beneficial. Now, all I can do is wait and hope for the best. For those of you who have been following this diary, you already know that I dislike this CO2 bag because it smells like shit. Literally. Now though, I really hate this friggin shit bag and its weird hanging contraption that is as shitty as the smell from the bag. Day 5 Flower (Day 47) So far so good. Last night, I checked in on her a couple of hours after I taped the broken branch and the left side of the canopy was already back up with no drooping leaves or branches. YES! However, it was still nerve-wracking to open the tent today but she looked just fine. Fingers crossed that it holds. Naturally, I don't want to disturb her much right now so all I did today was to water her and carefully LST a couple of branches that got messed up yesterday. I gave her 2 liters of pH 6-0 water and 1 liter of water to the girl in the small tent. Speaking of the small tent. There's some light bleaching on the tips of the leaves closest to the light so I turned down the dimmer even further down to 40%. I need to try to raise the light but can only gain another 5-7 cm. The tent is soo tiny lol. Will be interesting to see if she will even fit in there after the stretch is done. I also raised the lights in the main tent as the canopy was getting a bit close. That was it for today. Day 6 Flower (Day 48) Chill day today. All I did today was to water the girls 3 liters each of pH 6.5 water. Day 7 Flower (Day 49) Today was the end of a rather tumultuous first week of flower. It looks like I got lucky, though, and that the branch on the right girl will survive. She is growing strong and loving life. I am hopeful. She is a big girl and drinks a lot, so I'm watering her every day (around 10% of pot volume), and I gave her 3 liters of pH 6.4 water today. The left girl didn't need any, so I just measured both girls, snapped some pics and videos before zipping up both tents. The left girl is 50 cm tall (12 cm increase in a week), and the right girl is 77 cm tall (31 cm increase in a week!)

So we started feeding them. just some organic growth by BAC and some Calmag. Mostly around the sides of the pots to encourage the roots and start the Microlife overall. We have used nice lukewarm water and added some sugar sirop to activate all the wee beasties. The growth last week was phenomenal although one is going faster than the other. For this reason I changed them around, should climate on that spot have anything to do with that. Now we are looking at other XL runts diaries, to learn from the best performers and copycat their methods to maximize yields with this setup. We will decide if we will just LST them or give them a top... Have to be quick tho, these ladies will flower soon... Howdy, So it’s day 40 today, left and right have been topped for the last time a few days ago, I think the middle bush has another 3/4 days before she’s ready for her last topping. So far I have done 3 complete res changes averaging about 12 days between each change. There has been some signs of deficiency on the largest of the group. I think it could be down to two things, she is the closest to the water filling cap where I add PH down and nutrients to, so her roots are getting hit with it before it mixes in the rest of the res. Second it could just be that the water was depleted of certain nutrients as I stretched it for 2 weeks and as she’s the biggest, she felt it the most... Main thing is there is no signs of it getting worse. I’m having to add about 6-10 litres of water per day. Some HST again on day 39 with some cling film over the bends just in case of any splits. I think I’m going to veg for another 5-10 days, they’re about 1ft 2 inches tall at the moment... I installed the second light on day 39, so everything is ready for flip day. Both are 4200k bulbs and will remain so until week 3/4 after flip day. I will then change them out for 3200k bulbs when the stretch is complete. A 30w UVB bulb will be added to the grow in the final 2 weeks of flower.
