Week 5 Veg Report: SCROG Netting, Massive Leafs & Precise Data Mastery! 🌱 Girls Growing Stronger Than Ever! 🌱 This week has been truly epic in the grow room—so much so that it’s time to bring in the SCROG net! With the canopy expanding and the younger ones still working to catch up, the SCROG net will help me achieve that perfect, even canopy. A well-placed SCROG not only ensures better light penetration but also gives the smaller plants a chance to spread out and thrive alongside their bigger sisters. Now, let’s dive deep into the SCROG method. The Screen of Green (SCROG) technique is a grower’s secret weapon for maximizing space, light efficiency, and yields. The concept is simple but powerful—train the plants to grow horizontally along the net, forcing them to expose multiple budding sites instead of just a single cola. This way, the canopy spreads evenly, improving light distribution and air circulation throughout the tent. As the plants grow, I’ll gently weave their branches through the screen, ensuring they fill every square inch of space. The end goal? A sea of buds all basking in equal light! 💪 Huge Leafs Everywhere! 🌿 One thing that’s really catching my eye this week is the size of the leaves—they’re HUGE! I’ve gone in a couple times, removing larf and umbrella leaves to get that extra bit of light through the plant. Impressive results thus far from the Shogun Nutrients range. She seems to be thriving, showing no symptoms or negative signs since day one. I should have added PATIENCE to the list of operative words…

She continues to pile on the trichomes and is taking on a exquisite purple hue to her flowers! She is definitely one of the most photogenic cultivar's I've grown and is looking lovelier by the day! 😍 9/24- We're getting close to wrapping up Week Six of flower in a couple of days and she'll be around four more weeks from finishing, with the most exciting weeks yet to come! I didn't water yesterday and today I went ahead and Top Dressed her with 2 tbsp/g Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4, 1 tbsp/g Dr. Earth Gold Premium 4-4-4, 1/2 cup Down To Earth Bio-Fish, 1/3 cup Down To Earth High Phosphorus Bat Guano and 2 cups of Worm Castings. I watered in the Top Dress with 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉ and let her enjoy her meal! 😜 9/26- After her heavy watering on the 24th I didn't water yesterday and when I checked her today at 'lights on' and she still had some weight to her pot and her leaves were praying hard so I held off on watering today and will hit her tomorrow with her usual 1.5g watering. ~Thanks for stopping in! All three plants were loving the big bloom and voodoo juice I gave her. I raised the ph and kept it at 6.5 she’s just been really happy ever since. Giving that its an auto its going to go into flower pretty soon! ✌️✌️😎

Start of week 7, nothing really new, they are bouncing back well after dealing with issues I set in motion early on, by over watering, over feeding, and too much light early on. While we’re a week or so away from harvest, the plants are responding beautifully, showcasing stunning fades that highlight their unique genetics. This fading process is a critical part of the journey, helping the plants naturally finish their cycle while preserving those complex terpene profiles we all love. The Mold Incident: A Teachable Moment This week brought a challenge—a few buds succumbed to bud rot (Botrytis), particularly on the Papaya Zoap and a single bud from the Gorilla Melon. While disheartening, it’s a reminder that mold can occur even in the most well-maintained gardens, especially with dense colas and a full canopy. After a thorough inspection, all affected buds were removed and discarded to prevent the spread. A quick note to all growers: defoliation plays a massive role in airflow and prevention of such issues. This is why mid-flower defoliation is a game-changer, and I’m grateful it kept the rest of the garden healthy! Papaya Zoap’s Unique Quirks The Papaya Zoap continues to be a star of the show with its frosty buds and… albino tips! These tiny white tips are likely from being too close to the lights. While it’s a cosmetic detail that doesn’t affect quality, it’s a fascinating display of how genetics and environment interact. A Frost-Filled Wonderland The room is absolutely glistening with frost. She's really ramping up the trichomes making her flowers look like their sugar coated! 🤩 I watered her today with 1.5g of de-chlorinated water with 1 tsp/g of unsulfured molasses added which was then ph'd to 6.4 @ 72℉. The molasses will give the microbial colony some additional food as well as supplying micro-nutrients to the plant. I finished out the daily maintenance giving her a check over and turning her pot 1/4 turn to ensure she gets light to every inch of her. 10/1- Yesterday was a 'no water' day as her pot was still fairly heavy to lift. Today she was watered with her usual of 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉. Doch als ich heute das Zelt öffnete und sie mir anschaute entdeckte ich schon die ersten weißen Haare an der Z-UP Auto und somit ist es mir dann doch zu riskant. Die Purple Haze Auto wird nicht getoppt da sie eh schon einen kurzen Lebenszyklus hat und ich auf ein frohes Farbenspiel hoffe. Somit blieb mir nur noch die Frostbanger Auto und Schnipp, Schnapp der Kopf ist ab ✂️🌿 Jede Pflanze wurde mit 1,5 Liter Nährstofflösung gegossen. ( 1,5 Liter Chlorfreies Wasser + 1,5 g Bactrex + 3 ml Orgatrex + 2ml Bio PK 5-8 ) Zu guter Letzt wurden alle drei Damen noch mit 5 ml / Liter Biotabs Boom Boom Spray eingesprüht. Very low stress training. The main stem has a 90° 'reorientation' clip with the other stems being spaced out using pipe cleaners (anchored with paperclips pushed through the fabric pots). Minimized shock to the plant: Removed only 8 leaves and some future bud sites that were too close to the center of the plant. Interesting to watch the plant reorienting under the LEDs over the course of the day.
