Blueberry Muffin – Pheno A Week 6 | Every Plant Speaks Its Own Language Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure! 💚🌱 If you've been following this project from the beginning, you'll know that every plant in this room shares exactly the same environment, the same lighting, the same irrigation system, and the same general care. The only thing that truly separates them is their genetics—and that's precisely what makes this project so fascinating. Blueberry Muffin Pheno A continues her journey under a strict 12/12 light cycle from seed, growing inside the AutoPot system beneath the Future of Grow Black Series LED while being carefully documented from germination all the way to harvest. Every week reveals a little more of her personality. And this week... She had something to tell me. ⸻ 🌱 Full Steam Into Flower There is no doubt anymore. Vegetative growth is now behind us, and this beautiful lady has fully committed herself to flowering. The stretch continues, fresh pistils are appearing across the canopy, and every branch is now focused on producing future flower sites rather than new vegetative growth. The framework that was patiently built over the previous weeks is now beginning to pay dividends. Thanks to the early leaf bending, gentle canopy management, and allowing the plant to naturally find her shape, light is reaching deep into the canopy, encouraging flowering sites throughout the entire plant. Sometimes doing less allows the plant to do more. This week was exactly that. Rather than introducing additional training, I simply allowed her to continue expressing herself naturally while closely observing how she responded. ⸻ 🍽️ A Hungry Lady One thing became increasingly obvious during the week. Compared to some of the other ladies in the room, Blueberry Muffin Pheno A is asking for more food. The lighter colour developing on some of the older fan leaves isn't a cause for panic—it is simply the plant telling me that her nutritional demand has increased now that flowering is accelerating. This is one of the interesting challenges of running several different genetics together. Ideally, every plant would receive a feeding program tailored specifically to its own appetite. In reality, when multiple cultivars share the same environment and irrigation system, compromises sometimes have to be made. The important part is recognising what the plant is communicating and responding before it becomes a genuine deficiency. That's exactly what I've started doing. Over the coming weeks, nutrient strength will be increased slightly to better match her appetite while continuing to monitor how she responds. Growing is a conversation. This week, Blueberry Muffin simply spoke a little louder than the others. ⸻ 🌿 Development Despite asking for more nutrition, her overall development continues to impress. The main stem remains strong, secondary branches have stretched beautifully, and numerous flowering sites are beginning to establish themselves throughout the canopy. Looking from above, it's easy to appreciate how evenly the branches have developed. The earlier leaf bending has done exactly what it was intended to do—opening the plant without forcing it into an unnatural shape. Instead of one dominant flowering top, multiple branches are now competing for the light, creating what should become a very productive canopy over the coming weeks. Every day she looks a little less like a young plant... ...and a little more like the Blueberry Muffin I've been waiting to meet. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment The room continues providing stable conditions as flowering progresses. • 🌡️ Day temperature: 29°C • 🌙 Night temperature: 25°C • 💧 Relative humidity: 60% • 🥥 Root zone temperature: 21°C • 💦 Nutrient solution: 22°C • ⚗️ pH: 6.0 • ⚡ EC: 1.78 mS/cm • 💨 CO₂: approximately 693 ppm • 💡 Light schedule: 12/12 Humidity has now been reduced compared to the previous weeks as the plants move deeper into flower, creating a more suitable environment for healthy bud development while maintaining excellent transpiration. Everything remains stable, allowing the plants to focus their energy exactly where we want it—into flowers. ⸻ 🌱 Feeding The AutoPot system continues running beautifully, providing a constant supply of fresh nutrient solution whenever the AquaValve calls for it. Current reservoir: • Plagron Terra Bloom — 1.9 ml/L • Plagron Sugar royal — 1 ml/L • Plagron Pure Zym — 1 ml/L • Plagron Power Buds — 1 ml/L • pH adjusted to 6.0 As Blueberry Muffin has shown a greater appetite than some of the other plants, I'll gradually increase her nutrition over the coming weeks while carefully monitoring both leaf colour and overall plant health. The goal isn't simply to feed more. It's to feed exactly what the plant is asking for. ⸻ 📸 Behind the Lens This week's photographs tell a very honest story. The developing flower sites are becoming easier to spot, the vertical growth has slowed into a more controlled stretch, and the canopy continues filling with healthy new growth. Some of the fan leaves clearly reveal the lighter colour that first caught my attention this week, serving as a useful reminder that plants are constantly communicating if we take the time to observe them closely. Photography isn't just about capturing beautiful plants. Sometimes it's one of the best diagnostic tools a grower can have. ⸻ 🔍 Looking Ahead Over the next week, my attention will be focused on two things. First, allowing the flowers to continue stacking naturally as the stretch begins slowing down. Second, watching closely to see how Blueberry Muffin responds to the slight increase in nutrition. If everything goes according to plan, I expect the foliage to regain a richer green while the plant continues directing her energy into flower production. The foundation has been built. Overall it was a good harvest, it could have been much better if I hadn't switched to the Cultivator Series line... But as soon as my order arrives I'll be back to Athena again 🙌

She’s reacting very well to the training, so I keep pushing her. In the meantime, she’s getting really thirsty, which is a good sign the roots are on track. As I want to stretch the vegetation, I removed a few selected nodes to promote more main bud development.

I didn't like the speed at which the flowers were produced. I think 4,5 liters of soil is after all too little to get the result I was hoping for organically. So this week I started giving some canna terra flores. I started with 0,7 EC and gradually increased it to now 1,3. For now it seems the plant is taking it very well. Today I'll be doing some defoliation because it's getting kinda crowded in the middle of the plant.

FBT2403 has sprouted, and is doing well. She is getting acclimated, and should start making progress soon. I think my tds is way too high. I will likely dilute it out some. It is way higher then I expected. Everything is looking good beside that. Thank you Fast Buds. Hello everyone, This week i decided to remove the peyote cookies from the dwc system because the roots kept dying and so i decided to translate her to coco soil. I will start again after the summer with 2 dwc buckets for now i gonna continue with one, yesterday i changed the air pump to a stronger version because the spider farmer pump is way to loud and weak with the airflow. The amnesia fast bounced back but i see the roots showing a brown color again i hope after the air pump change this will stop i will also stop adding canna rhizotonic to the water to make sure only minerals are in the water. For the peyote cookies i gonna start a new diary. Tomorrow i will update my other diary that grow is doing great. Thanks for stopping by and have a nice week.

Green House Feeded one is enjoying life and growing big health buds. She received her last lollipoping. Advanced Nutrients one is still struggling. I am increasing the feeding per Advanced Nutrients supports suggestion. Let’s hope she recovers.

[DAY 43] - 13/07/2022 - Temp. 29° / RH: 50/60%; - EC 1.3; PH 6.3 - In the next few days: a) I will gradually raise the EC up to 1.5, first with a large addition of CaMg+ (up to 3/4 ml/L), then moving on to the full pre-flowering feed; b) I try to keep PH at 6.0 to improve the absorption of cal-mag; - Lamp: 80% (120 watt) - 50 cm away from the center of the net - 18/6 cycle; - Many leaves seems to be too green, almost dark green, we'll see next days how plant grows and fix if needed; - I widened the canopy a bit outwards through the scrog net, I hope it will help the light penetrate better in the center; - I also removed a single leaf that was very large and which from day one was blocking all the light in the center of the net. I was certainly wrong not to remove it before, which is a lesson to me for the next runs. [DAY 44] - 14/07/2022 no update, just uploaded pics [DAY 45] - 15/07/2022 - 28°/29° C - 45%/50% RH (dry day); - PH 6.0/6.2 - EC 1.5 (1.1 preflower blend and 0.4 only CALMAG due demineralized water); - Lamp: 80% (120 watt) - 40 cm away from the highest point of the plant - 18/6 cycle; - A bit leaf tucking today - This weekend I'll remove the ties; - Center of the net is slowly filling up, new small branches are popping up and I hope they can fill that central hole. [DAY 46] - 16/07/2022 - 29° C - 65% RH (wet day); - PH 6.2 - EC 1.5 ; - Since yesterday almost all the new leaves are growing showing signs of some problem (look pictures). Some deficiency? Excess of nutrients? Other? I ask with a growquestion and hope to understand more about it. Fingers crossed 😐 - Thanks to the advice of @Chow_13 and @SwissKush I realized that the leaves were signaling me to start flowering nutrition right away, the plant is starting to require more P and K. I just replaced the solution in the DWC with 8 liters of bloom nutrient. In the evening I upload some pics to show how plant reacts. [DAY 47] - 17/07/2022 - 29° C - 65% RH (wet day); - PH 6.2 - EC 1.6; - I just regenerated the CO2 tanks and I decided to put them outside the box because they are too bulky (the tube through which the CO2 passes is inside the grow box). [DAY 48] - 18/07/2022 - 29° C - 65% RH (wet day); - PH 6.1 - EC 1.7; - TS1000 40 cm away - 80% (120 watt); - New leaves are growing well. - Removed the branch tie; - Found an ant on the log, but how the hell did you get in? [DAY 49] - 19/07/2022 - 29° C - 60% RH ; - PH 6.0 - EC 1.74; - TS1000 40 cm away - 80% (120 watt); - Plant is drinking about 1.5 liters of solution per day. I'm trying to keep the PH below 6.1, at the moment it is 6 and tomorrow I try to lower it to 5.9 / 5.8; I highlight how the solution inserted on 16/07/2022 had EC 1.6 and today the EC is 1.74, it has slowly risen over the last few days. For the moment nothing alarming, I see how it proceeds and if so I intervene; - Removed the 2-3 liters still in the DWC and inserted 8 liters of new solution: EC 1.37 - PH 5.9. The plant was not drinking well, the EC was continuing to rise and tomorrow I start the new week, so I anticipated the replacement of the solution. EC 1.6 was too much? Or the plant was not yet ready for a full flower blend? I don't know, let's see how it goes with the new solution.

Gelato from Original Sensible Seeds straight submerged 😳 9th of September: All good tap root is out some of them will be planted earlier because the root is coming faster and they will be in the mini pot first :) So-Si-Dos OG and Gelato from Original Senisble Seeds are planted in the mini pot tap root was perfect long. Runtz Gum also woth today. Two of them left so I will check out tonight :) End of the day I planted Black Ghost and Wedding Gelato as well. All of them planted now we just have to wait them to be out 🤪 Day 2: All of them out ❤️ Day 3: Opening up :)

This is the actual harvest now! Out of the three plants this run, trimming (I'm wet trimming usually) this one was the most fun (least work 💩). Amazing leaf to inflorescence ratio! These may also have been the most dense/heavy buds I have ever harvested. Usually my dry weight at ~60% is about 20-25% of the wet weight.. I'm excited to see how this one ends up. Compared to the last LemonZ I grew, this one was quite a bit larger and took about 10 days longer. But I'm guessing the yield is almost 1.6-1.8x the last one! [Past Dan:]Drying right now at around ~55% relative humidity and upping to 60% in 2-3 days - will update this with dry bud shots as soon as I get the opportunity! [Present Dan:] Drying finished after seven days. Had to measure the humidity because just touching the buds made me think they're still somewhat wet. They're not wet, just VERY resinous!💩 This time I also tried to vacuum shrink one of the buds as an experiment. For people who like the "round and compact" look that maybe the way to go. I'm torn between that and the natural wet-trim-dried-look. You certainly lose some resin to the bag. Aaand some flavour too because after opening the bag it fucking STANK! I tried making a video of the vacuumed bud too but it came out too bright due to the phone-flashlight lighting the vid I think. Taste/effect report soon(tm)!

Week 11 Day 71 (15/03/2021): No time to take pics today ✌️ Day 72 (16/03/2021): Looking good but more and more leaves are drying up or turning yellow. But at this point there is definitely no point in stressing the girls by removing them. Although the colours definitely look nice! Day 73 (17/03/2021)💧: Today will be the last watering for the girls so they have a few days to take up the last bits of moisture before harvest. I can’t believe how fast this grow went but I have definitely learned a lot from it. Day 74 (18/03/2021): They look so nice and colourful, definitely an interesting bunch of girls :D Can’t wait for the harvest and cure Day 75 (19/03/2021): No time to take pics today ✌️ Day 76 (20/03/2021): No time to take pics today but harvest day tomorrow!!!! Day 77 (21/03/2021): HARVEST DAY! What a great journey it has been growing these girls. They were so resilient and only started showing symptoms of deficiency in the last few weeks. They are absolutely covered in trichomes and smell very pungent. I think they will be super hard hitters! And it still amazes me how different they all are. Echo is even completely purple! Can’t wait to trim and dry these girls and will definitely make some bubble hash from all the trichomes on the leaves too 🤤 Will follow up with a review soon! (after they’ve cured for a bit)

31.03. D31 Settling into the system. The plants are now fully established in the Autopot setup, which has been activated. Growth is starting to accelerate as the roots take advantage of the constant water supply. All tops have been taken, and structure is beginning to form. Some leaves showed slight signs of low humidity stress over the past days (around 30–35%), affecting transpiration and leading to a more compact growth pattern. Humidity has now been stabilized at ~55%, and the plants are already responding positively. A close eye is being kept on potential thrips activity — if confirmed, biological control (nematodes) will be applied early. Overall, everything is on track. Control the environment. The plants will follow 04.04. D35 Everything on track. The plants are responding well and overall development is strong and consistent. Today’s work focused on opening up the structure: LST applied to spread the canopy and improve light penetration, along with light defoliation to clean up inner growth. No complications so far. Healthy growth. Good response to training. From here on, it’s all about shaping an even canopy and guiding the structure. Steady progress.
