🌱 Week 4 - Black Diamond Auto - Plant A 8×8 Adventure | Learning What Nature Wants to Teach Another week has passed inside the 8×8 Adventure, and every day reinforces why this project is so exciting. Unlike traditional autoflower grows, every plant in this room was germinated directly under a 12/12 light schedule. There was never a long vegetative period waiting before flowering. Instead, each plant has had to build its entire structure while already living under flowering conditions. It is a technique that fascinates me because it reveals just how different every individual phenotype can be. Some decide to begin flowering almost immediately. Others invest precious time building roots and branches before finally committing to reproduction. That is exactly why every plant receives its own diary. This week belongs to Black Diamond Auto - Plant A. ⸻ 🌿 A Completely Different Personality While several sisters have already started showing obvious flowering characteristics, this lady had other plans. Instead of rushing toward bloom, she kept investing energy into building herself. The result is becoming obvious. She is developing into one of the strongest structural plants inside the room. Long internodes. Strong branches. Excellent vigor. Beautiful symmetry. She almost seems to be saying, “I’m not in a hurry… I’m building something worth waiting for.” Sometimes the slow starters end up becoming the biggest surprises. ⸻ 🌱 Why Growing Under 12/12 Is So Interesting One thing I always enjoy explaining is why this project exists in the first place. Most growers veg their plants for several weeks before switching lights to 12/12. Here, the challenge is completely different. The plants experience flowering light from the day they emerge. That means every single day matters. Every root developed… Every leaf produced… Every branch formed… …is competing against the plant’s internal biological clock. Watching each phenotype decide how it responds to that pressure is one of the most educational parts of this entire adventure. ⸻ 🌿 Gentle Training Instead of Force This week continued with very gentle Low Stress Training. Rather than forcing dramatic bends or aggressive shaping, I’m simply helping light reach every future flowering site. Leaf tucking. Soft branch positioning. Small adjustments every day. Sometimes even gently bending large fan leaves out of the way instead of removing them. At this stage every healthy leaf is still acting like a solar panel, producing energy for everything that comes next. The goal isn’t to force the plant into a shape. The goal is to guide her while allowing genetics to express themselves naturally. ⸻ 💧 A New Chapter Begins: AutoPot Time One of the biggest milestones this week is that Plant A has officially graduated into the AutoPot system. This is something I’ve been looking forward to throughout the entire grow. For anyone unfamiliar with AutoPots, they are a completely passive self-watering system. There are no pumps. No timers. No electricity controlling irrigation. Instead, everything revolves around one incredibly clever little device called the AquaValve. The AquaValve constantly monitors the water level inside the tray beneath the pot. As the plant drinks, the tray empties. Only then does the AquaValve automatically open, allowing fresh nutrient solution to refill the tray before closing again. This creates a natural wet-and-dry rhythm while giving the roots constant access to perfectly oxygenated nutrient solution whenever they need it. The plant decides when to drink. Not me. It’s a beautiful example of letting nature control the schedule. ⸻ 🔬 Why This Is Such A Fun Experiment Even more interesting… Plant A won’t be alone for long. The current plan is to compare her performance against another Black Diamond that may remain outside the AutoPot system. Same genetics. Same room. Same environment. Different irrigation method. It’s still early, so I won’t draw any conclusions yet, but this comparison could become one of the most educational parts of this entire project. Sometimes the best lessons come from simply letting the plants answer the questions for us. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment The room continues running very consistently. Environment • 🌡️ Day Temperature: 33°C • 🌙 Night Temperature: 25°C • 💧 Relative Humidity: 63% • ⚡ EC: 1.35 • pH: 6.1 • 💨 CO₂: 639 ppm • 💦 Solution Temperature: 26°C Even with the warmer daytime temperatures, the plants continue showing healthy metabolism and vigorous growth. ⸻ 🍽️ Feeding This Week Current nutrient program: • Terra Grow — 1.8 ml/L • Power Roots — 1 ml/L • Pure Zym — 1 ml/L • Sugar Royal — 1 ml/L The feeding remains intentionally balanced. No need to chase high EC values while the plant is still investing heavily into structural growth. Healthy roots first. Strong stems second. Flowers will come naturally. ⸻ 🌱 Looking Ahead By the end of the week, she’s finally beginning to show the first signs that flowering is approaching. Nothing explosive yet. Just those subtle little changes every grower loves spotting: slightly tighter node spacing… new vertical growth… the first hints that she’s preparing to transition. Considering the structure she’s already built, I have a feeling she could become one of the larger plants in this room. Only time will tell. And that’s half the fun. ⸻ 💚 Final Thoughts One of my favourite things about this hobby is that every plant writes its own story. We provide the environment. The nutrition. The light. The care. But ultimately, genetics decide how the story unfolds. Plant A is teaching patience. She’s showing that not every plant needs to sprint into flower to become something special. Sometimes building a strong foundation is the smartest strategy of all. The screen is almost full :D, Today is the first 12/12 day, everythings seems to be OK, some leafs are yellow on the edge, but i guess it was because pH was fluctuating a lot. New leaf are ok, so i am not worry about that. Muy satisfecho con la de ramas que esta dando, todas tienen cálizes y un olorsito que alimenta. Unas puntas amarillas en las hojas recién salidas, pero no suigio avanzando despues de echarle top blom, supongo que seria alguna carencia que justo el top blom me lo a dado. perfecto todo, cada 2 dias 200ml de agua con solución a cada planta. Todo en un armario de 60 x 60 x 140, espero no tener problemas de espacio.

Growing under the same Future of Grow LED, receiving the same PPFD, sharing the exact nutrient recipe, environmental conditions and care as every other plant inside the tent, she has decided to express herself in a completely different way. Instead of remaining compact, she has embraced her sativa heritage and is already showing the elegant structure Purple Haze is famous for. Longer internodes. Large healthy fan leaves. Fast vertical growth. Strong side branching. Exactly the characteristics we hoped to see. This diary is part of my ongoing 12/12 From Seed Challenge, documenting every step exactly as it happens. No shortcuts, no hidden techniques—just honest observations from a home grower enjoying the journey one day at a time. ⸻ 🌱 Week 4 Development This week was all about preparing for the next big milestone. Purple Haze continued building an exceptionally strong root system while producing vigorous new shoots across every node. The leaves are deep green, beautifully flat and reaching toward the light, showing excellent nutrient uptake and a very healthy metabolism. Stem thickness has increased noticeably, giving plenty of confidence that she’ll easily support future flower production. The spacing between branches also makes her an excellent candidate for training later, allowing light to penetrate naturally through the canopy. Sometimes you can already tell a plant has personality long before flowers appear. This one certainly does. ⸻ 🚿 Time for AutoPot This week also marks another exciting step. Purple Haze A will soon become one of the plants running on my AutoPot system. Since every plant in this project receives identical lighting, nutrients and environmental conditions, this creates a great opportunity to observe one important variable: Top watering versus gravity-fed irrigation. Rather than trying to prove one method is universally better, I simply enjoy comparing different growing styles under the same conditions and documenting the results honestly. That is one of the things I love most about this hobby. Every grow teaches something new. ⸻ 💧 What is an AutoPot? For anyone discovering these diaries for the first time, AutoPots are a completely passive irrigation system. There are: ❌ No pumps ❌ No electricity ❌ No timers Instead, everything works using gravity. A nutrient reservoir sits slightly higher than the pots, allowing the solution to flow naturally through the tubing. Inside each tray sits the heart of the system: The AquaValve The AquaValve is an ingenious little mechanical valve. When the tray becomes empty, the valve opens and allows fresh nutrient solution to flow in. Once the tray reaches the correct water level, the valve automatically closes. The plant then drinks exactly what it wants. Only after the tray is empty again does the cycle repeat. Because the substrate experiences a natural wet-dry rhythm while always having nutrients available when needed, roots tend to develop extremely well. Healthy roots often translate into healthier plants. At least, that has been my experience. ⸻ 🌿 Why I Enjoy Growing with AutoPots Every grower eventually finds methods that simply fit their style. For me, AutoPots offer several advantages: • Consistent moisture around the root zone • Reduced daily watering workload • Excellent oxygen availability inside the substrate • Stable nutrient delivery • Very vigorous vegetative growth Perhaps most importantly… They let me spend more time observing the plants instead of carrying watering cans every day. Exactly the kind of consistency every grower hopes for. ⸻ 💚 Final Thoughts Week 4 feels like the beginning of something special for Purple Haze A. She has developed into a vigorous, healthy young plant with beautiful structure, outstanding leaf health and plenty of energy heading toward the flowering stretch. Now the AutoPot system enters the picture, adding another interesting chapter to this diary. Whether gravity feeding produces bigger plants or simply makes life easier, we’ll discover together over the coming weeks. That’s the beauty of documenting everything honestly. Made hydroponics system myself. Very easy. I should have fed them with voodoo juice if They were in plastic cups. It took the roots so long to grow in regular soil.

They seem happy and starting to fill out,

Starting to get some nice frosty flowers. The cycling UVB has really made the terps start early. She is getting smelly which is great - a bit behind the others, but so far she is healthy and stretching well. Regular tea and water regimen and weekly nutes. I plan to add another layer of topsoil with nutes next week. Humidity control has been a slight issue. After watering I am typically hitting 80 - 85 rH - so will need to watch this. I could open the grow room door to reduce the rH but then I lose the CO2 buildup. Will stay the course for now.

Starting to flush today I’m starting to see tichs starting to turn amber colored on the top of the main cola and 90% cloudy and about 40% of the pistles have changed color also

We are in week 6 of bloom on a 7 to 8 week flowering time! I am LOVE LOVEING this strain! Within this last week its gotten a Bit hotter later in May! We sare doping grereat tho, She is showing some signs of heat stress in my eyes causde of the burnt tips, I dont think nutrients caused this cause I have not been giving here many nutrients, the top feed and one tiime I gave her some Tastey Terpenes from advanced nutrients. This living soil has been amaazing I honestly dont think I needed to give the plant the Nirvana, I do think it helped. I am light watering with irrated ph balanced for the next few days, might gvive her some sugars molasses yummm. much love looooking to harvest soon, This strain is blowinig my mind, so is this soil. With everything I put into the soil and learning how to build a soil has beeen a journey and im on it! Hoping this plant swells up some in the next weeek put some weight on, now that all the pistols are brown ill check thrichomes soon!!

Final product is been absolutely amazing on these clones - the jungle came out about average but the clones definitely exceeded expectations there absolute fire in comparison but still just as good hopefully I can just improve a few issues we had on this run and dial right in 100% will be so much better, next few run is going to be special I’ve got a few things lined up. From tester packs to breeders packs I can hunt from. So lots to choose from but what to keep to run will be interesting

I decided to cut to milky trichomes

📆 Semana 10 El cultivo entra en su fase final de maduración, con plantas muy cercanas al punto óptimo de corte. Los cogollos se muestran duros, densos y completamente formados, con el peso ya definido en todas las ramas. La resina alcanza niveles máximos, con tricomas mayoritariamente lechosos y presencia de ámbar empezando a ser más visible, marcando claramente la ventana de corte abierta. Los pistilos continúan oxidándose de forma progresiva, reforzando la maduración avanzada. La planta reduce su actividad y comienza a consumir reservas internas, provocando un ligero fade en las hojas grandes y una mejora en el perfil final de aroma y terpenos. Cultivo en recta final, afinando el punto exacto de cosecha. Seguimos creciendo fuerte 💪!

Bienvenidos cultivadores de marihuana clandestinos, y también, a los que tienen la fortuna de no serlo!🖐️👨‍🌾... todo por la causa! Mañana nublada, mañana de porros y música junto a esta gitana agradecida, hace cuatro días cambié el horario a floración 12/12h. Después de una semana donde he hecho tres riegos profundos (4,7L) con componentes variados y dirigidos a estimular el cultivo, la planta está respondiendo espectacularmente... esta gitana a perdido la timidez! ahora crece, se fortalece y orgullosa se esfuerza por alcanzar a sus compañeras de cultivo mayores, y no dudo que lo consiga! En el último riego he estrenado dos nuevas fórmulas de Bio Fertilizantes que puse en fermentación anaeróbica con Microorganismos Eficientes y enzimas hace casi un año y que abro ahora, el primero basado en la disolución de tres tipos de algas (Bio Algas EM) para usarlo en cualquier momento del cultivo como Bio estimulante, el segundo con una combinación de Guanos de ave y Murciélago donde disuelvo principalmente el fósforo y también el resto de macro/micro nutrientes y los ácidos húmicos de esta materia prima excepcional, lo comienzo usar al final de la etapa de crecimiento vegetativo hasta el final del cultivo, en combinaciones de riego con otras fórmulas fuertes en potasio... a jugar!! Un dato: la semana pasada hice, llevado por la pasión, las ganas y el colocón, varias aplicaciones foliares en días consecutivos con una mezcla explosiva de mi Hidrolizado Enzimático de Sangre Fresca (Aminoácidos y Nitrógeno 70%) con Lacto Fermento multi frutas NPK... La primera aplicación en todas las plantas fue espectacular, continué aplicando como si no hubiera mañana, y conseguí bloquear varias plantas y quemar muchas hojas... pero esta planta resistió como la mejor, y ahora se impone mientras sus compañeras se recuperan! El paso a floración es como nuestra entrada en la adolescencia, la revolución hormonal que la planta experimenta es similar a la nuestra, y como tal, hemos hecho una fiesta gitana para celebrar la vida que le espera esta chica andaluza...
