Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Week 5: A little yellowing on the leaves this week. We believe we have a Mag deficiency. Will adjust when watering. Did a flush due to this as well with Cal/Mag in the water. Defoliation: We took a lot more off this week due to the growth spurt. LST: using paper clips for LST and it is working amazingly. They have really adjusted well to it. Height (inches): GSC1 21.5; GSC2 15.5; GSC3 15; Delight 17 7.19.22: The back left GSC grew 3 inches overnight - crazy!!! Raised the light to accommodate it and placed the other girls on a box to be at her level.

They’re all doing amazing. Caramelino smells like a super sweet, floral fruit. The White Widow in the corner is stacking up with white flowers all the way up the main stems.

so she got flushed this week and is now fed ripen for the last 3 days, so that means next week is harvest, the smell is really loud now, very very citrus and earthy fumes all over the room. I can already tell this will be one of my favorite flowers to smoke. Most hairs are still white the more down in the plant there is barely any brown pistils but still she got amber trichomes all over her, just one more week straight water and ripen to let her suck those leaves dry so we can finish with a nice fade

7/9: The Twins are growing well. Runt Danny is just a regular plant now but still a runt compared to the perfect twin Arnold on the right. Still waiting until 3rd week of July to flip to flower so my upcoming trip doesn't interfere with watching over it or coming back to a timer malfunction etc. Still going light on the Advanced Nutes. All new growth since the switch to the PH Perfect system is burn free compared to the old. Only problem is still a bit of PH flux when the pots dry out between feedings but it's only spotting on 1-2 leaves per plant, overall they seem to be getting used to it now. Another reason why I postponed the flip to flower. I'm a bit on the nervous side but very excited for flip just for the sheer stretch and size these things are supposed to get. 👆

"Chugging" along this week. Weather is hot, girls are loving the all time drip system. Forgot that my nutes and hot sun dont mix well and created a bad case of algae. Will monitor more often and maybe increase the drip flow

4/22/24 🍓z I was going to take her down after I trimmed off all of the excess leaves and gave her some of the leftover maximum strength food from a space panda in the next tent. She really started taking off again, so I’m gonna keep her going. I’m gonna keep them all going and doing just great really starting to put out a lot of resin. They smell fantastic. I’m having a lot of fun with them so I’m gonna keep them going. I could take them down right now they are ready, but I just wanna grow them a little more. 👍👍👍 4/23/24 Wow they are great. ZStraverriez...hard to type.... is READY! I took the leaves off a couple days ago to see if I would get any growth but nope. So I will use FloraKleen 10ml per gal and do a 2 or 3 gallon flush and put her back in for a day. I harvested the CBD. It smells like berries, just great just the right size in a 2 gallon pot with no training. I found a seed in the CBD, the others might be seeding as well......that is my oldest tent probably has pollen somewhere. Still everything is good, but im getting a new tent...I also just got a MarsHydro light for 100 it's the light bar one. 4/23/24 Apricot and straw. gorilla are growing good. Zstraberriez....which is a HUGE BITCH TO SPELL....but WOW smells like berries and vanilla and happiness. I let some dry for a few hours and put it in the Arizer X2 and she was great. These are so fast and the colors are beautiful too. It's like a perfect autumn day with all the leave changing color. Except my colors are way better and I can smoke them.... 4/24/24 🍓🍓🦍🍑👍💎💎💎 I am seeing lots of resin form. I thought they would be ready to go, but it looks like they just kind of took a little pause and I trimmed off the unnecessary and fading leaves and they got their second wind and now seeing a lot of resin production💎💎💎. they smell great. They look like they’re ready to keep going for another two weeks so I’m gonna do that and I’ll just harvest a little bit along the way I smoke some of all of them this morning and they’re just great. 👍👍👍 4/25/24 I ended up doing a little bit heavier, feeding than usual. I did about 2 mL of all the supplements and now I’m seeing lots of resin. I’m very careful all the other nutrients have burned my plants horribly but I’m very careful in general. Hydroponic seems to do a good job without burning. Fastbuds has a 25 pack of all their different strains mixed together for 100. I might do that. I’m kind of neurotic. I may need to know what I’m growing I think about this. I really like all of their plants they have a personality all of their own. I like Seedsman and the F1 it’s from Royal queen seeds. 4/25/24 🍑🍓🍓 marsHydro FC-E1500. I just got this delivered today. It cost 100. Although it is a powerful amazing light is no good for me at home. The TS-1000 lights you can move the driver outside the tent and then the top of the light has a little resting tray. This one is totally for commercial use, you cannot remove the driver and its pretty heavy, sold construction all the way, but in my small space I’m gonna have to wrap this up and put it away. It’s a 10 out of 10 it’s a beautiful light super bright. It’s everything you want in a grow light for a commercial space but it is way too hot for a small 24” x 24” tent that I grow in. I have 3 tents and can't run lights over 90Watts or the room gets too hot, and I can grow 3 or 4 perfectly with the TS-1000 set at about only 90 watts, its just perfect. This will get far too hot in the small tent, unless I want to set my air conditioner to 72 and get a massive electric bill! so I’m gonna stick with these TS-1000, the most perfect home light for grow tents I have ever used. I’ll give this light away someday but the Mars Hydro TS-1000 is still the absolute best light I’ve ever used. I have 4 of them now. 4/28 🍓🍓🍑👍💦💦💦💎💎💎 I can’t believe the amount of res in that they are all starting to put out. They are really getting their second wind. I am just having a lot of fun with them so I’m gonna keep them going as long, probably for a couple more weeks at least until they are no longer viable, but I should be able to keep them going pretty good for a while. 👍

I'm going to rinse the left pot with Advanced Nutrient "Flawless Finish" which is suppose to grab nutrients out from the plant and medium with empty chelates then only feed with PH 5.8 water for a week or so. Tricomes are mostly milky now on it but not many brown at all. The 2nd plant which is much taller looks to be about a week behind, so will treat that one accordingly. I'm really tempted to chop the advanced one down!!! Flawless Finish and Bud Candy from now on out, Giving a more heavy dose of Flawless Finish right now and will wait 12 hours and do it again with a heavy flushing that time to get the medium as clean as possible. It will take at least 4L per pot to start flushing well. Still look like they are packing and fattening up though. Yellowing in the left side is pronounced, Day 65: A few more days of flushing till the chop. The scent is kind of nasty right now

Mildew was detected in the beginning if the week, the plant sprayed with solution of hydro peroxide to kill spores and then solution of apple vinegar to stop prevent new mold. It worked. I thenk the next eeek will be the last. I decreased 5he concentration of the watering solution, especially in Nitrogen part.

Plant is still tiny, unless something miraculous happens yield is going to very low!

Light schedule will be changed to 1212 today. One of the plants (lemon drop) basically already has full buds.. is that normal? Other then that things are good and can't wait to flip today!!! Edit: changed light schedule on 3/14
