10/15 Same stuff, just keeping it stable is all I'm trying to do. Update 10/18 - Heat was ridiculous this week, had to turn one or more light features off, for example, turned off the HPS -AND- the LED circuit on the Phlizon on the hottest day because inside the tent it was like 91 degrees F. Yeah it may not be the perfect environment, but look at the growth from the 15th til today. Major flowering happening, unless I am tripping. I see a lot more healthy growth now, which in my opinion means the transplant idea was SO WORTH IT. I see a lot of crystals forming now and the tops the leaves are turning more white that I could hav imagined -- with two more weeks at least to go, I think I may have some bomb flowers if I dont fuck anything up. Northern light to the left in video has more to go and is not as far along as the Vanilla Frosting. 10/20 Added some new nutes for the last two weeks of flower, bubbling like a madman wanting this grow to finish. White Widow (three plants outdoors) will probably finish in the tent, its just really in stasis but it is getting some frosting of its own. BTW when I smelled the flowers yesterday I was blown away by how awesome they smell, like seriously boutique top shelf aromas going on, this is my first grow indoors and really the first time I have been able to give the attention and care these babies need. I have learned SO much. Especially about stuff I was clueless about before. Like which lights are good. What tent size to get. Ph, nutes, watering, relative humidity, cloning... all new stuff. I have become a better gardener as a result and my 200 sq ft community garden plot is doing way better and I expect next year to be bonkers because I really get the whole ecosystem thing now and how mycorrhizae helps everything. I am already planning my next grow, and I am going high CDB autos... solomatic and fast eddy.

And that’s it… harvest time. After chopping and doing the wet trim, I ended up with 135g wet weight. After drying properly, the final dry weight came down to 35g of buds, plus around 10g of trim/popcorn that I’ll use for hash. To be honest, I’m pretty happy with how the plant performed overall. The structure was solid, she handled the environment really well, and the whole cycle felt stable from start to finish. Temperature swings weren’t a big issue, and she tolerated relatively high EC without showing real stress. Growth was steady, stacking was decent, and she never really looked unhappy. However… once I did the final manicure, I noticed something disappointing: there are quite a few seeds inside the buds. So realistically, those 35g are not going to be 35g of clean flower once all the seeds are removed. I still need to fully sort it out, but it’s definitely a reduction. That part is a shame. It’s frustrating because the grow itself went very well. Environment was dialed in, feeding was consistent, no major visible stress… yet the genetics still threw some herm traits during flower. I removed the nanners when I saw them, but clearly some pollen did its job. That’s probably the only real negative of this run. Still, considering everything: - Good structure - Stable growth - Solid resistance to temp variations - Handled nutrients well - Decent resin production The plant performed well… but the seeds definitely hurt the final result. Overall, a bittersweet ending.

🌱 8×8 Adventure | Folder 09 Candy Rain – Plant A | Week 4 The Little Survivor Every grow tells a different story, and sometimes the most memorable stories begin with unexpected setbacks. Welcome back to the 8×8 Adventure, a project dedicated to exploring multiple genetics grown 12/12 From Seed inside the same flowering environment. The goal is simple: document every phenotype individually, compare their development under identical conditions, and learn something new from every plant along the way. Folder 09 follows our Candy Rain. Unfortunately, she is the only survivor from this batch. The other seeds didn’t make it, and that’s entirely on us. Growing is a journey of constant learning, and sometimes the greatest lessons come from the mistakes we make. Rather than seeing it as a failure, we’ve chosen to give this little lady all of our attention and let her show us exactly what she’s capable of. Every plant deserves the opportunity to tell its own story. ⸻ 🌿 The 8×8 Adventure This entire project is being grown inside our dedicated 8×8 flowering tent, where every cultivar begins life immediately under a 12 hours ON / 12 hours OFF light schedule. There is no long vegetative period. Instead, every plant develops naturally from seed while already living under flowering conditions, creating unique structures, shorter internodal spacing and allowing us to compare how different genetics react to exactly the same environment. Although every plant shares the same room, nutrients and lighting, each phenotype expresses itself differently. That’s exactly why each folder documents a single plant from start to finish. Candy Rain is proving that point perfectly. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment Despite summer temperatures continuing to challenge the room, the environment has remained remarkably stable. Week 4 Conditions • Light Schedule: 12/12 • Day Temperature: 33°C • Night Temperature: 25°C • Relative Humidity: 63% • pH: 6.1 • EC: 1.35 mS/cm • CO₂: 639 ppm • Pot Size: 15 L Even with daytime temperatures reaching 33°C, the plants continue responding well thanks to stable humidity, strong air circulation and careful environmental management. Consistency is often far more important than chasing perfect numbers. ⸻ 💧 Feeding Programme Candy Rain receives the same balanced Plagron feeding programme as the rest of the room. Current solution per litre: • Terra Grow — 1.8 ml/L • Power Roots — 1 ml/L • Pure Zym — 1 ml/L • Sugar Royal — 1 ml/L The solution is adjusted to pH 6.1, maintaining nutrient availability while supporting healthy root development throughout this early stage. Because this plant is hand-watered, every irrigation becomes another opportunity to inspect the substrate, monitor water consumption and observe her development closely. ⸻ 🌱 Development From the very beginning it became clear that this Candy Rain is developing differently from many of the other plants in the room. She remains significantly smaller, with a naturally compact structure and shorter internodal spacing. While several of her neighbours have already begun stretching into flower, this phenotype seems to prefer building slowly, producing tight growth and a sturdy main stem before committing to vertical expansion. Sometimes 12/12 From Seed reveals exactly these kinds of differences. Certain cultivars explode almost immediately, while others seem to take their time adapting before accelerating later in flower. At this point there is nothing suggesting poor health. Quite the opposite. Her new growth is vibrant, symmetrical and full of life. Every node develops cleanly, her stem continues to strengthen and the fresh growth emerging from the centre has a beautiful healthy colour. She’s simply telling her own story at her own pace. ⸻ 🍃 A Small Setback One detail worth mentioning this week is the damage visible on a few of the older fan leaves. After careful observation, the injury doesn’t resemble a nutritional problem. The new growth remains completely unaffected and the damaged areas are isolated to only a handful of older leaves. The most likely explanation is mechanical wind damage. With strong airflow inside the flowering room, larger fan leaves can occasionally fold onto themselves or vibrate continuously in the same position. Over time this creates dry, burnt-looking patches that may resemble nutrient issues but are actually simple physical damage. Because the affected leaves aren’t getting worse and the new growth remains perfect, no corrective feeding changes were necessary. Sometimes the best decision is simply to observe instead of reacting. ⸻ 🍃 Gentle Training Training remains intentionally minimal. Rather than removing healthy foliage, we continue relying on leaf tucking to expose developing shoots to the available light. By carefully moving larger fan leaves beneath the canopy, lower branches receive more light without reducing the plant’s photosynthetic capacity. This gentle approach allows the plant to continue building energy while maintaining as much healthy foliage as possible during these early stages. Patience often produces better results than unnecessary intervention. ⸻ 🌱 Looking Forward Although Candy Rain currently appears to be one of the smallest plants inside the 8×8 tent, that certainly doesn’t mean she’ll stay that way. Some phenotypes invest heavily in root development before accelerating above the soil. Others naturally remain compact throughout their entire life while producing exceptionally dense flowers. That’s exactly why projects like this are so enjoyable. Every phenotype becomes its own little experiment. Whatever path this Candy Rain decides to follow, she’ll receive exactly the same care, patience and attention as every other plant in the room. Because every seed deserves the opportunity to reach its full potential. ⸻ 💚 Final Thoughts Growing has a funny way of keeping us humble. Sometimes everything goes according to plan. Sometimes we lose seeds. Sometimes one little survivor becomes the most interesting plant in the room. That’s exactly why we document every stage honestly—the successes, the mistakes and everything in between. Hot and dry all week, boy the forest fires are bad in BC this year, knock on wood no major fires on Vancouver Island, no smoke either. Smooth sailing, stretch is slowing, budlets forming nice for sure week 2+ so looking like a Sept finish for sure. Quiet week as I was busy enjoying summer, nothing but drip 45min a day, 2.5hr once a week, diablo maxx, Silica and a weekly spray of LCPT. Had a MASSIVE mushroom at the base of the Hugel, which means the fungal network under there is for sure in overdrive. This time of year it's so hot and dry it's hard to keep the outside of the hugel most being a big hill, but obviously there's epic moisture deep inside it. Compost tea this week, looks great, super simple, 6cups compost, 4tbsp molasses, 4tbsp Epsom, 50ml kelp, little bit of coir, aerate 24hrs and use immediately. Probably toss on trellis net next week and zip tie her to the frame, next week another top dress, and then the final push! Most of the harvest will go to the freezer fresh, maybe wash, hang dry and cure an LB for flower rosin and edibles, then I'll make bubble hash when it cools down over Christmas.

This was my best experience yet with growing and am quite proud of myself! Training went almost perfect and the plants handled the resistance strengthened up and sprouted so many buds! All we’re dense and frosty by the end time! I dried in brown paper bags in 17.5-18.5c temps with a humidity of 40-50% and took 7 days to dry! I have them curing in 3L glass jars with 62% Boveda pack inside! I’ll be able to really taste the flavour then but it’s already strong and tastes great! Royal queen seeds are definitely worth a top place on seeds! Added a few photos after cure! The smell is like sweet pungent and flowery and the high is full body and u get itchy eyes and dry mouth!

We finally arrived at the flowering of the 5 plants. # B3 presents some type of blockage, which is still very early in flowering. Despite the tragic accident with # B5 the buds' formation is going very well she still showed signs of phosphorus deficiency despite using both FloraBloom and Liquid KoolBloom in the next irrigation I will try to leave the PH in 6.4 since as I researched the phosphorus is better absorbed with soil pH between 6.2 and 6.7. The other plants are doing well and do not have the same deficiencies. This week I released the LST and applied defoliation on some leaves to favor the light on the apical buds where buds are forming. Updating with 55 days # B3 already has some white pistils but the buds did not start to form. I begin to think that it is a photoperiod.

So far she looks promising...I am extending her light hours with the solar power light. We are at the end of the rainy season heading into dry season.

Gorilla cookies is doing good and might be ready for harvest in 2 weeks, the other 2 ladies might need 3 more weeks.
