Some plants seem determined to become the biggest, loudest personality in the entire room. And then there is Candy Rain. Our solo survivor. The girl who started this adventure simply because she was the one who remained... and somehow, week after week, she keeps becoming more beautiful. At this point, I don't even know if "survivor" is still the right word. Because she isn't just surviving anymore. She's thriving. And honestly? This girl is becoming glamorous. 🍬✨ 🍬 The Solo Survivor Has Her Own Role I've said it before, and I'm probably going to say it again... I really like the role this girl has taken in the 8×8 Adventure. She's not trying to compete with anybody. She's not trying to become the tallest. She's not demanding constant attention. She's not creating problems for me to solve. She's simply doing her own thing. And she's doing it beautifully. That's probably what I appreciate most about her. She has developed her own personality within this experiment, and at this stage, my job is becoming wonderfully simple: Provide. Observe. Document. That's it. She knows what she's doing. 😂💚 🌿 Deep Green Beauty The first thing that catches my attention this week is the colour. Those deep greens are absolutely beautiful. The foliage has that rich, healthy appearance that makes the plant look incredibly alive. And when you put that deep green foliage together with the developing flowers, the contrast becomes gorgeous. She's got that elegant appearance I really enjoy photographing. Not chaotic. Not overly complicated. Just... beautiful. There's something about a plant that looks comfortable in its environment. And that's exactly how Candy Rain looks to me right now. Comfortable. Established. Confident. And completely herself. ✨ She's Doing Her Own Thing One of the biggest lessons from this entire 8×8 Adventure continues to be that plants don't follow our expectations. We can give them the same room. The same lighting. The same environmental conditions. The same general feeding strategy. The same irrigation philosophy. And then... they decide what they're going to become. Candy Rain decided to become Candy Rain. And I couldn't be happier about it. She's not trying to imitate another phenotype. She's not trying to match anybody else's timing. She's following her own rhythm. And at Week 10, that rhythm is looking very good. 🌸 The Flowers Keep Moving Forward The flowering development continues to progress beautifully. The flower structures are becoming increasingly established, and the plant is clearly moving further into this later stage of flowering. The photographs show those developing flowers surrounded by that beautiful deep green foliage. And that's one of the things I really enjoy about this stage. We're no longer looking at a plant simply beginning to flower. We're watching the work from all those previous weeks become increasingly visible. The branches have their flowers. The flowers have their structure. The plant has its character. And now... we wait. We provide. And we watch. ❄️ The Details Keep Getting Better This is also the point in the run where photography becomes especially rewarding. From a distance, Candy Rain is simply a beautiful flowering plant. But get closer... and there is another world happening. The developing flower structures. The pistils. The calyxes. The resin. The textures. The little details that you simply don't appreciate from across the room. This is why I keep coming back with the camera. Every week gives me another reason to get closer. And Candy Rain is giving me plenty of reasons. 🍬📸 🌿 No Need to Force Anything One thing remains very clear with this girl: I'm not looking for reasons to interfere. She's not asking for major intervention. She's not showing me a structure that needs to be completely changed. She's not demanding that I redesign her. She's growing. She's flowering. She's maintaining beautiful foliage. She's developing. So why would I try to turn her into something else? This is one of those moments where the grower has to know when to step back. Sometimes cultivation is about action. Sometimes cultivation is about restraint. And right now? I'm choosing restraint. Let her do her thing. 💚 Provide. Observe. Enjoy. Found out the water I was using had a ph of at least 7 instead of 6.5 like I had thought. I also had a cal mag deficiency from using LEDs and reverse osmosis water. Now I have a ph tester to prevent the first issue and cal mag for the second.

Hi everyone!! First of all I want to thank everyone who followed up on this diary. It was an amazing experience to grow weed on my own, along with a small jungle I tend. The buds are incredible! My house was stinking up for days after the harvest. The taste is also something else, very strong and lasts until the end of the joint. Powerful strain. She got very purple towards the end, so nothing would be better than mixing pink berry flavoured chocolate (Ruby chocolate, look it up, it's naturally pink and sour) with some trims and put together a skull shaped truffle filled with infused chocolate and Jabuticaba (local fruit) jam. Sooooo good! I do have one complain though, I only got 35 grams out of it and I don't quite understand why...I did most things right, but still disappointing results. If someone knows what I did wrong, I'd appreciate the feedback. Anyway, see you again in future diaries!!

6/21 Didn't go check the plants last night. They were fine though. No drooping. I may increase my feeding schedule as I'm noticing a few leaves in the middle inside of the plant turn yellow and die. I'll update as I check stuff out. Can't upload pictures right now so it will be later today. Went back in the pm and watered. Noticed a few of the wild lady bug larvae are getting pretty big. Fucking spiders ate a bunch. 6/22 Went and watered before feeding 2 gallons. I need to make solution stronger add more growbig. Also need to spend more time defoliating and LST and relocate the two plants in the cage that are able to be moved. UPDATE: After checking the weather I decided to water despite the meager .1in of rain we might get. Also need to follow up on my IPM. It seems like roots have completely overtaken some containers.Maybe that's why I am watering twice a day. Perhaps I need to water more at a time. PH still high at around 7.3, 7.4. Anyhow I've got some work to do. 6/23 It rained a little last night so I didn't need to water this morning. I used the extra time to do some LST and slight defoliation. I used plant clips and string to tie branches down. Noticed some PM on the inside of a couple smaller plants. I need to move one more plant to a different location, spray for my IPM and defoliate a little better. My anxiety makes it hard for me to cut my plants. I need to watch some more videos on PROPER outdoor defoliation. Went back over and watered. I was able to maneuver some branches through my trellis for better airflow. Noticed some cricket and leaf hopper damage on the smaller plants I tied down. I squished a couple but I think I'm going to do a treatment of Dr. Zymes or LCPT tonight. Also, I got promoted on here to apprentice. I was stoked until I found out it only takes into account the number of likes you get for promotions lol. 6/24 Soil was still damp so I lightly watered. It's hot today and I'd rather have the bags not dry out in the wind. I need to spray tonight. Due to an unexpected death in the family I haven't gotten everything done that I need too. Watered when I went back over. 6/25 Lightly watered despite soil being damp. The grow bags are just basically roots. They go through the bag into the ground making it tough to do the "lift test". They are thirsty plants. I found a dreaded worm (moth larvae) as I didn't do my preventative BT. Tonight I'll be spraying. Just not sure which product yet. Did some small defoliation today. I'm afraid of taking to much. Just want better airflow. Plan to spray tonight. UPDATE: Sprayed LCPT to treat the PM and hopefully as a catch all for the worm and thrip I found. I will upload pics of my trunk after the defoliation. It won't let me edit the pic and I'd rather not have my tag showing. 6/26 Treated with LCPT last night. Amazing how much better the plants look after an application. Fed two gallons today and upped growbig to 2tbsp. I was feeding on the fifth day but this it's only been three days this time. I'll monitor for results. Pictures weren't taking this morning. Couldn't upload pics of the stalks after I defoliated which sucks because I think I did pretty good and wanted see feedback. 6/27 Had a rushed morning. Had time to quickly water before I had to leave. Will examine and update later today. Went back over and everything looks good. Just normal issues and work to be done. 60% RH 90 DEGREES today.

***** Week 7 Veg - January 16/21 to 22/21 ***** Week 7 will be their last week being able to take them out of the tent😟 SCROG netting going in on the weekend ahead. Not really a lot to report this week as the girls are doing well and I am just wanting their side branches to grow longer to help filling in the canopy anyway. Performed more LST this week and bending over the branches daily. Didn’t do any HST this week, will once the net is in and I have a better visual of how the branches need to bend. They have come a long ways over the last 2 weeks when you look back at pictures. They have filled out with more side branching and other than battling a little purple striping on the main stems they seem pretty happy. Leaf colour is good and should be in good shape for the flip soon. Will go through all of week 8 before flipping so hopefully week 9 will be transition week and week 10 the start of flower.......have to get through next week first though😀👍 Switching over to tap water again. I have been struggling with calcium and magnesium deficiencies on all grows for the last year. I can’t seem to get the right amount added back to the RO water I use in all feedings. So running with straight water again now. Ppm coming out is 325 so I will work with that. Going to explore my own RO system in the house rather than bottled water, a system that adds back calcium, magnesium, and iron. It’s been flowing okay for the first week and will continue on for now. Using RO water I have been feeding full strength on the nutrients and have been working on backing them down a bit to compensate for the starting point of 325 now. They have continued to be fed once a week roughly and supplemented with calmag and microbes. Little more detail....... Jan 16/21, Day 43 Veg - 3L each of full line at full strength in RO water - 1150ppm and 5.8pH given to the girls - didn’t add any other nutes other than IPP line. Jan 17/21, Day 44 Veg - dry out day - pulled down all the girls again tonight to train them outwards. - side branching doing very well on Candyland girls. Jan 18/21, Day 45 Veg - 3L for each girl today with tap water and CalMag @ 1ml, Microbes @ 2ml, Nature’s Candy @ 1.5ml - 700ppm and 5.7pH is what that works out to. - have to use a considerable amount of pH down to adjust the tap water, over 6ml in 16L Jan 19/21, Day 46 Veg - measured the girls today and Candyland1 is 14” tall and CL2 is 13” tall. They were topped already😀 - dry out day for the girls. Jan 20/21, Day 47 Veg - 2.5L each with plain tap water - 295ppm and 5.8pH. - all the girls are looking big and bushy today.......they are ready for flip soon. Jan 21/21, Day 48 Veg - dry out day for the girls. Jan 22/21, Day 49 Veg - pulled all the girls down again......repeating the same LST each day manually rather than tying down for now. - this should be water day but leaving for today as I am going to lolipop the lower branches and a heavier leaf stripping tomorrow. - will feed tomorrow as they will benefit more. Hello guys ! I'm back finally ! couldn't update my diares for weeks :'( What happened during this time ? A LOT ! we have now switched into flowering stage and the plant already start her flowering stretch. She wom almost 5 CM on all colas and I think she will keep going for another week. Usualy the flowering stretch take around 2weeks. She also start to drink much more than during her veg stage of course. Now it's around 1L every 24hrs. Hope you like it. Take care

Compost tea turned out well, let it go for 26 hours total and geared it towards fungal. Also took some soil samples several days later around the stalks and found a lot of nematodes and protozoa which is what you want to see. Lots of different types of nematodes so what your looking for are the bacterial feeders (there are charts online that show you how to identify them). Mycorrhizae can be identified by it's dark colour, uniformity and segmented nature. Testate amoebas live in a translucent shell like a snail and are easy to spot but hard to spot moving due to my shitty microscope, but look for the tentacles. Also found some eggs with movement inside, no idea what they are but they have vacuoles and flagella. She is really getting sticky and smelly now; berries with herb notes. You can see the resin stretching over the trichomes in the last pic. No signs of senescence yet so I'm not going to feed them, they should have plenty of food anyway as this is a second run of the same soil.

This week - the third week - in most cases, she does LST and defoliation twice 🍃 🌿 The girl has very curled leaves down, they practically grow like that. I have no idea how it could have happened. She is not even overwatered, there are no problems with nitrogen and I measure the ph and ec regularly and she is fine. All the other girls in the tent look good, only this one is like that 😢💚💜. It looks like there will not be much of a harvest, probably unstable seed, that happens. But I am sorry because I use pure CBD to make tinctures. I use the new PH and EC meter Aqua Master Tools P110 PRO, the measurement is fast and accurate. So far I have managed to keep the PH and EC as they should be. I use Biobizz Bio +/- to correct. These are excellent products. I think that the plants are definitely very well affected by the spraying of the Vita-Race preparation and the excellent PRO-MIX Connect Mycorrhizal powder to support the roots. Everything is pretty much the same, we have switched to fully bloom an these ladies are just Looking super healthy , we are getting a nice smell of grapes on these Ogreberrys ! I'm driving myself crazy. Hahaha Update 119 Day 23- Things are looking better.
