Dont know why but while i was defoliating the Chemdog smelled a little bit like soap haha. Turned on the reservoir for a couple of minutes. (Till the AutoPots are full and the valve closes) Rised the pots aswell, so the canopy is very even. I let them recover from the heavy defoliation i did, and next week i will slowly increase the light's strength. (Now still at 50% 50cm)

Sorry for the long delay, but wasn't sure if I was gonna finish this runoe n Moved everything down to my flower room and finally flipped to flower. Humidity is extremely low so I recently added a ideal aire 75 pint unit to try n help fight. Since last cycle, I got 4 new 640 watt LEDs, 6 100 watt inter-canopy lights, added 2 20 pound co2 tanks, and added an 8 inch intake fan to help control the. CO2. Ended up with 24 plants, 15 strains (got way 2 carried away with buying seeds this year lol). Since I'm gonna retire my 2 fav strains, I wanted to cast a wide net and find worthy successors.

This week has progressed nicely - the plant is starting to work on fresh leaves and is pushing the second node now. This plant is looking really healthy and strong so far! Today marks week three - so I will be switching my light to 18/6 until flower - which wont be for a while since I do mainlining - generally my veg time is stretched out quite a bit because of that. I will be keeping this updated as I go along and I am excited to share the progress! This is organic living soil - no bottles - nothing made in a lab. Today I harvested about two pounds of worm castings from one of my worm bins - you can see in the pictures some friends decided to come along for the ride! I mixed the castings with basalt, glacial rock dust, crab meal, kranja cake, kelp meal, and neem meal - then top dressed with that mixture, working it down into the soil a bit with my fingers, and then watered that all in with about a gallon of water. I really like to grow in this large raised bed - its the entire size of my tent which makes it completely impossible to move during a grow cycle but I love the fact that each plant in this 2x4 raised bed essentially has 50 gallons of soil all to itself! Wow what a difference after feeding her more. Her leaves are getting so much better after feeding her more. She’s growing so much and so tall! This is my first autoflower, so seeing her grow this fast is amazing! I added Calimagic and Floralicious plus. She’s loving it 😍

So this final week the buds on this Orange Hill Special are filling out. They are getting rock solid and the calyxes are doing their final swelling. Also, the trichomes have started forming and up close, they are forming a white sticky film over the whole bud. The buds feel heavy and compact, although their size could have been bigger but not complaining with this amount of bud. I have just been feeding some perma tea and clean water since this soil is probably very high in nutes by now. I had some brown leaf points so just adjusted and all was fine. Now we go into the final one or two weeks. I did some final defoliation to expose some underside buds, they are swelling too. Removed some sticky underside larf, kept it in a box to gradually dry for a preliminary taste test coming days. Welcome to another season of Grow N' Smoke! This is my 9th grow but my second diary. Luckily I came upon some seeds that I had been desperate to try, Cookies Gelato from Royal Queen Seeds. Shout out to James and RQS, they deliver to the USA now! I got my seeds sooner than I thought and was able to start my grow last Sunday 2/19/23. It's now Saturday 2/25/23 and we are off to good start. A 100% Germination! How awesome! I'm really excited about this grow and I am very hopeful of the results. I hope that you enjoy this journey with me and that we can help each other along the way.

This week in my grow room has been full of developments. First, I added additional lights because I couldn't get the relative humidity (RH) under control. I ordered a dehumidifier, but it will take a few weeks to arrive, so I had to find a temporary solution. I also emptied the reservoir and refilled it with fresh water and nutrients. I secured the net to ensure it stays in place under tension. In two days, I plan to switch the light schedule to 12/12, hoping the plants will stretch a bit during the switch to avoid having overly large buds that aren't evenly spread. Seventeen hours later, I decided to keep the lights on a 16/8 schedule for a few more days. The plants are starting to show signs of something happening, so I want to see how they develop. I will keep you updated on the progress. Then, I received a message from my supplier that the dehumidifier would arrive today. Great news—time to spice things up! On June 2nd, the dehumidifier arrived, and I managed to get my Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD) to 1.17! This is fantastic news, and I'm very curious how this will affect water usage. The dehumidifier seems pretty powerful, with water literally dripping out of the hose, so I'm no longer worried about high humidity levels. It's a shame it doesn't have a range setting, but I couldn't expect more for the price. I'm considering ordering the Dimlux Auxbox to set a working range and separate day/night settings. Thankfully, the dehumidifier has an auto-restart function after a power loss. On June 3rd, the night is over, and while my values are now more stable, I haven't noticed any significant differences in water absorption. What I do notice is that the pots seem much drier. The difference in leaf temperature compared to the room temperature has increased slightly, now about a 2˚C difference, indicating that evaporation has increased somewhat. Despite the dehumidifier cooling the air, the room temperature has risen. This is explainable since dry air heats up faster than humid air. The CO2 heater is also running significantly longer. So, although there are no immediately visible differences, there are indeed some changes. Today is the last short night of 8 hours, and tomorrow will be the first night of 12 hours. I am contemplating doing a 10-hour night first and will decide later tonight. After closely reviewing the video footage, I noticed some divergent colors on the leaves. My pH is currently 6.4, which I had adjusted to compensate for the low pH last week—a foolish decision in coco, I know. I plan to make videos of each individual plant for my records to investigate further. The light is too intense to inspect them up close, so the videos will help me get a better look.

Day 79 - Another week passes, not much to post, normal feeding, 1000 ppm 6.2 PH, normal lights, the girls are fattening up nicely...... 😎 Day 84 - some pics/vids.... pics of a Test Bud (ready for curing)......doing some experimentation..... read up about drying and curing, but i don't have a set method, so test abit..... never grown bud before..... 👍 my tent is really small, i think 50x120x160 or something... and it's tight in there, i have no other source of herb, so i'm going to start getting into the smaller one, and focus the light on the larger one..... i've been trimming and drying all during the grow.... there's really only enough room for the big one, and it's really squishy in the tent........ 😎
