The culmination of reversing our Matterhorn cut off Mr. Crowley to Intergalactic Runtz, and the results were out of this world (I had to do it). These ladies were slow to start, but once they hit their stride, they put any worries we had to rest. Compact, short-framed, and robust. They pack beautifully boulder-like flowers that reek of garlic and sickly sweet cotton candy. Dark green to a mosaic of purples, yellows, and silvers. Frost production is off the charts, the internode spacing is tight, and they certainly will impress in their last few weeks of flower. This is one of our favorite crosses in the new fem lineup. Gone into week 1 of flower. Work has taken priority and I've been away so much that keeping updates has not been possible. Plants are doing just fine through. The Biotabs just add water system means I just have to keep a res filled with fresh water. I do also give a weekly top feed of water via a syringe and buried closed loop I installed at transplant. This allows me to reduce the risk of salt build up in the top layer of my substrate.On the 4th feed I add 2.5g of Bactrex to this water injection to maintain a healthy microbial system. I'm trying to minimise stretch with royal blue and deep red supplements. I'm worried the ratio of blue to red will confuse the plant as the spectrum should be more red at flower as it would be in nature. If I see any issues I have 80w of reds I can apply as needed. The heatwave has been an issue I've managed to keep temps around 27c and forcing humidity to about 65%.

Pistils finally popped up yesterday on a few of the top sites! Should start seeing some solid stretch from LA punch soon, guessing around 30 to 40cm at least, who really knows right now 🤷‍♂️ I’m letting her do her thing and reach up into the net for now. If she starts getting crowded before the end of week 3, I’ll kick off some early defoliation. Also got two AC Infinity IonBeam S11 lights set up sitting about level with the top colas. I’m aiming the light to hit the middle and lower sections instead of blasting the tops directly, trying to get that nice even coverage. Still debating whether I even need to scrog this run, but a few people keep telling me to give it a go to see the difference, I guess only one way to tell 🙌

Día 45. Ya empezaron a enraizar los esquejes. Agregué 2 al sistema y mañana ya agrego los otros 2. Después habrá que espersr una o dos semanas a que alcancen una altura que iguale a la madre y de ahí a flora. La planta se me hizo demasiado grande esperando a los esquejes. De hecho para la próxima, voy a tener que revisar el tema de la configuración a usar. Porque esto es dasiado grande y se pierde el espíritu real de lo que es el indoor. La idea original eran 10 esquejes. La madre solía ir a tierra a florar en otro lado. Pero pensé en aprovecharla y a fin de cuentas termina siendo casi lo mismo que poner la planta sin esquejes. Así que voy a ver bien que configuración usar en la próxima y estimar mejor los tiempos. Entre tanto, solamente espero poder estar pasando a floración lo antes posible. Sino esto se va a complicar mucho con el espacio disponible.

Vegetation Phase - Week 2 Shoutout to Cannapot, the Austrian plug who came through with the genetics from Humboldt Seed Company. The 10 Donutz plants are pushing through their second week of veg, and while the majority are thriving, a few challenges are starting to show — all part of the game when experimenting with new soil, pots, and nutrients. Updates & Adjustments: Lamp Adjustment: Raised the light to reduce stress and give the plants more breathing room as they stretch and develop. Watering: Keeping it relaxed and minimal with reverse osmosis (RO) water. No overwatering here — slow and steady wins the race. Nutrients: If deficiency will further ill add more fertilizer. Observations: 9/10 plants are growing steadily, with vibrant green leaves and visible progress in height and structure. 1 runt: One plant is struggling hard — stunted growth, ugly leaves, and generally looking like it’s fighting for its life. Still, it’s got a spot in the tent, and we’ll see if it can bounce back. Some minor issues spotted on a few plants, likely nutrient deficiencies as they adjust to the new setup. It’s not surprising, given the new gear and methods, but nothing alarming yet. Next Steps: Staying the course with low-stress management. Let the plants adjust to their environment and dial in any issues over time. The Donutz are strong genetics, so they’ll likely power through. Even the sickly one gets a chance — no plant left behind! This sea is still on track to make waves.

7.4. - Watered 💧 9.4. - I'm so dumb...wires were too tight for the main stems and it got cut in. I've carefully removed them, but I did not give enough time to recover and continued bending. Result - 2 half-broken stems (thankfully healthy and growing further) and 1 completely broken off main stem. Watered 💧 10.4. - I guess I must be very lucky this run or the genetics are really good. All plants are thriving and gaining new growth each day, leaves are so big that I am quickly loosing any free space. First buds sites are slowly starting to form, so I will defoliate a bit. I've also manged to bend the main stem on Jack once again as it is definitely the biggest of my plants. Thankfully, without any injuries. 😎 11.4. - Watered 💧 6.4. - 12.4.2024

This week I did a single topping at the 5th node. Along with this I applied low stress training and tucking to expose the new growth.

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. Blue nemo on left is much further along in bud development, V is going to get harvest much later i'd guess. I'm going to harvest top and let lowers fillout and finish a bit after mid day 70s, we still have a couple weeks at earliest I'd guess.

This lady is huge. She has stretched like made going into flower. I really cleaned out a lot of growth so I don’t get a ton of popcorn nugs. She is drinking a lot, anywhere from 7-10 gallons every two days. 😎🍿🍻🌱

This week has been great, ive been struggling with learning how to water the living soil, only using 0.5% of the 5 gallons pot so a little under a liter. But i cant tell of i need to give her more emmm! Used the organic bloom booster they seemed to like that! Taking things slow learning as we goo im super excited about this strain even tho shes been hard for me! I got these little 6 inch stands to put under the pots so they are not getting cold on concrete and the soil stays warm! Soil is about 70 degrees and about 6.30 ph
