Week 11, the third week of flowering, has been an absolute blast in our Tropical Tangie Ninja Run. Hold onto your hats, because we've got a tale of growth, defoliation, sticky fingers, and some sneaky chocolate donut escapades! This week was like a whirlwind of excitement. Our Tangie decided to go all out with her growth spurt – she's stretching up like a true ninja reaching for the skies. She's growing so tall that I had to channel my inner MacGyver and grab some wire for an impromptu second support LED. Teamwork makes the dream work, right? Now, here comes the twist – she grew so rapidly that I just couldn't wait until day 21 for that defoliation dance. Nope, I decided to take action at day 19! Check out the edited video included in this report – it's like witnessing a botanical makeover! And speaking of twists, you won't believe what happened next. In the scorching heat, after some serious defoliation action, I found solace in a picole ice-cream. Because hey, even ninja gardeners need a sweet break! And guess who were my accomplices? My trusty ninja buddies, of course. They know how to keep it cool. As if that wasn't adventurous enough, we applied a second layer of the scrog net. And let me tell you, by the end, my gloves were coated in that stickie, fragrant resin. Sticky fingers, sticky situation, totally worth it! Oh, and let's not forget my quirky habit of bottom watering. Why, you ask? It's like a secret ninja technique – it encourages the roots to reach down deep and fosters a stronger root system. Advantages galore, my friends! Now, onto the sweetest part – flower production. It's like the ninja grand finale. The aroma is starting to waft through the air, and those trichomes are dancing around like they've got a secret. This Tangie is cooking up something amazing, and I can't wait to savor the results! And guess how I wrapped up this adventurous week? Sharing a chocolate donut with the gang, of course! 1/18 - 1/24: Getting fatter by the day. They got two feedings this week with cha ching, and I'll start flushing them when then are dry next.

The plant grow so fast you could almost see it happening. It was resistant to drought and handled anything I threw it's way. I highly recommend this strain. The best grow techniques are main-lining or topping, from my experience.

So i both some Autopots and decided to give them a try with autoflowers, this will be my second time ever growing autos and i decided to go with 4 different ones from 4 different seed banks. For now i have 3 seeds that pop out and one that didn't so i pop another from the same and again, have a third one as we speak popping , lets hope this time she does other way that seedbank becomes a no go for me. 5/8 Watered both with plain PH'd water yesterday. Both of the plants are sucking up leaves. Trichomes are only really looking amber on the brown leaves, but otherwise milky. 5/10 Decided that these brown-leaved buds on Trainwreck were ready, so I tried a little bro-science and watered an hour before harvesting. Noticed there were some really nice green young buds intertwined, so I did my best to trim around to leave them for another week or so. No weight measurements yet, will wait till after trimming and before curing.

Welcome back to another week, finally decided to flip to flower as these girls do grow pretty quickly in DWC. Aiming for some nice quality buds bit also a decent yield of at least 1 gram per watt of light. Nutrient solution has not been changing to complete flower schedule yet but I will be sure to switch it over in a few days. The crucial part now is keeping the EC and pH in a good range to avoid any deficiencies or Nutrient lock out. Let's see what the stretch brings the first few weeks. Stay tuned, and I'll be back for the by the end of the week to report some video feedback. End of the week has ending with a heavy defoliation session. Plants were getting bushy and covering potential tops so that needed to be addressed. For now, it will be selective defoliation once they have recovered, which should be in 2/3 days. Yesterday the second Sweet and Sour and Blackberry gum have been harvested on day 78. The first SNS finished around day 70. The cheesy needs a few more days but it's super chunky.

Watered a gallon between the four of them this week (goal to maintain moisture in the beds.) found mycelium growing on top of the beds today, a great sign for soil health! The runt is still runty; if one of the seeds in the solo cups overtakes her in growth, I will probably cull the runt and replace her. Going to be topping in the next day or two, deciding if I am going to do a full “mainlining” run or just top them. TBD

Branch Topping: Building a Strong Framework After recovering beautifully from her initial topping at node 7, it was time to refine her structure further by topping a few branches. For each branch, I left two nodes to ensure strong, healthy growth while encouraging a bushier canopy. Why Top Branches? Topping isn’t just for the main stem—it’s an essential technique for creating an even canopy and increasing yield potential: 1. Encourages Lateral Growth: By removing the top of a branch, the plant redirects its energy into the remaining nodes, encouraging side shoots to grow and fill out. 2. Maximizes Light Penetration: A bushier plant with more branches ensures that all parts of the plant get access to light, reducing shading and improving photosynthesis. 3. Improves Structure: A strong, evenly distributed framework sets the stage for a healthier plant that can support larger buds during flowering. The decision to leave two nodes per topped branch ensures a balance between promoting growth and avoiding unnecessary stress. Day 61: I left them in darkness for 3 days and just switched on the lamp for 12/12 with today the foirst day of the 9th week. Fertilization goes on the same days with the nutrients above and water intake approx 250 ml per plant per day. Nice green color comes they always look nice after darkness :) Lets' go.
