A plant with both standard cellular respiration (occurring throughout the plant, including leaves and stems) and adequate root respiration will have a significantly higher ATP throughput than one restricted to only general cellular respiration in a limited way. Cellular respiration is the fundamental metabolic process that occurs in all living plant cells (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds) to convert glucose into usable energy (ATP). It requires oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. Root respiration is not a separate type of respiration, but rather a specific instance of cellular respiration occurring in the roots. Roots absorb oxygen from the air spaces in the soil to fuel their energy needs. Roots require a substantial amount of ATP for essential functions like nutrient and water absorption, as well as growth and maintenance of their tissues. The primary form of respiration in healthy plant roots is aerobic respiration, which is highly efficient, yielding up to 30-38 ATP molecules per glucose molecule. Anaerobic Respiration (Inefficient): If roots are deprived of oxygen (e.g., in waterlogged soil), they switch to anaerobic respiration, which is far less efficient, producing only 2 ATP molecules per glucose molecule and also generating alcohol, which can be toxic and kill the plant. Therefore, a plant with healthy, oxygenated roots performing efficient aerobic respiration in addition to the rest of the plant's cellular respiration has a much greater overall ATP production and energy capacity. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Ancient biochar-rich soils in the Amazon basin (known as Terra Preta) provide evidence of carbon stability lasting over 500 to 2,000+ years. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

Hello everyone, fellow growers! my girls continue the vegetative phase without problems with the sog technique. We are testing a new line of fertilizers and so far they are doing pretty well. excellent nuggets are expected!

Sour Diesel week 5 of flower, so far im loving these two phenos of Sour Diesel. The Pheno on the right in the first picture is better out of the two. Not much of a smell right now since it's still early for this 10+ week strain. But it has a slight citrus smell with a bit of a gassy smell. Also its looking like they will be some pretty frosty phenos with how the trichomes have been popping up the last couple days. I will probably leave acouple smaller branches to re-veg and clone off of after harvest.

Harvest Update – RUNTZ Both RUNTZ phenos have been harvested, officially bringing this incredible journey to the end. It was a grow full of satisfaction, learning, and beautiful results. I’m truly impressed with the genetics from Zamesia both plants delivered super dense, frosty buds with an absolutely insane sweet and candy-like aroma. The terpene profile on these girls is just mouthwatering and promises a top-tier experience in the vaporizer. Solid, rock-hard nugs on both phenos this strain really lives up to the hype! Special shoutout to Plagron and their product Green Sensation – it worked wonders, especially in the final stages. Smells like new shoes lol I think I made a decent haul off 315 Watts the buds look frosted and I can’t wait to dry some. I knew what to expect in the coming weeks and if I run this again I think I’ll keep the plants shorter like last time. Highly recommend this Indica strain to anymore looking to make dry ice hash or solvent less! I’ll do the weigh in shortly0

Week 4 – Vegetation | Cuts & Mothers Selections are made. 4x Star Pebbles × Orange Zkittlez, 1x Rainbow Zoap (LIT Farms), and 1x Blue Zlime earned their spot in the next run and went into 10L pots today. One cut from each remaining line gets promoted to new mother status, carrying the genetics forward. Sitting at 20cm, lamp distance 110cm, light schedule 20h. Feeding CANNA Aqua Vega at 1 ml/l, Canna CalMag Agent at 0.8 ml/l, and Aptus Regulator at 0.1 ml/l. pH locked at 6.2, EC at 1.5 mS/cm. Temps holding at 26°C day, 23°C night, humidity at 60%. Smell is just starting to show — weak for now, but it's there. Next run stays in the tent for another four weeks before moving into the flower environment, with multiple topping sessions along the way to shape the structure early. Mothers get the identical treatment over the same stretch. Updates every Sunday. Stay tuned. 🌿

Day 22 22/07/24 Monday Nothing new to report. Starting to see them beautiful fans appear that's all 😁✌️ Day 23 23/07/24 Tuesday Feed today, giving them straight all nutes Inc flowering nutes. I will update the dose as they grow and develop a bigger hunger. (Not sure what's wrong with Overdose #2, bit mutated, we'll see how she gets on 😅) Video updates 👌💚 Day 26 26/07/24 Friday De-chlorinated watering pH 6 with 5ml calmag to 5L water. Watered each with 250ml and had small run off. I will continue to feed/water with small run offs to help prevent salt build ups. Video update.

2 more weeks before harvest. Today here at week 7 i have cut of all the top buds of plant 2, because i saw a litle bud rot comming inside one of the buds. Nothing is rotten i just spotted a little Bit white hairy thing when i opened one of them. They are verry large and dense i saw this comming. So now the light can penetrate all lower buds very easy and in 2 weeks the plant will be ready without problems

I hope everyone is doing well and happy Easter aka Resurrection day... Anyway, this plant, it's starting to catcher groove.But as you can see, she is a triploid i believe based down the three leaves coming out the top.. If anyone has any experience with this and any tips would be much appreciated, i think it's cool, but I don't want it to be a problem that affects my other plants.. I don't think it will be.. День 85 В обоих боксах пышнеют шишки. В верхнем очень рыхлый куст. Колы в шишках, но большое пространство. Верхушки только начали расти в ширину.На балкон в другой бокс пришлось повесить лампу ДНаТ 250. Она помогает держать на балконе температуру +16°C и выше. Сушит воздух тоже хорошо. За бортом -20°C — проветривать нечасто получается. Влажность 60% и выше. Возможно из-за этого макушки не уплотняются.
