Week 6 Vegetation - "Sam" rate of growth started to increase near the beginning of the week. With the nodes now stretching, I've started to implement tucking of the larger fan leaves under new and smaller shoots. I find this "new growth priority" method paired with LST really maximizes and speeds up the growth in comparison to an untrained plant. Merely anecdotal though! You'll notice that in the 3rd shot, the nodes stretched out in about 2 days and just ballooned! now that's what I'm talking about! nearing the middle of the week and the rate of growth is fast enough that I can't remember to take enough pictures between the new nodes. At this point I'm tucking new leaves almost daily, making paths for the light to reach new growth tips. By the end of the week, I'll need to start tying the nodes to the side before they stretch too far up. If they stretch too far before tying them, they can be a PITA to tie down later with dense foliage and such. Tying them down before they get to this point also keeps the nutrients moving to the "new side-nodes" from these branches. Eventually these will be just as thick as the original main stalk. UPDATE: As you can see with the last photos added, the branches are almost even with the original top of the plant that was tied down. I gave them a thorough fertigation the night before, and only slight folding of the leaves so I must have choked the roots a bit, but nothing long term.

Day#29Update : I took off about 8-10 fan leaves although I really did not want to take anything . I pony-tailed her main top although I wanted to pony-tail each of her tops . I’m hoping this second lite defoliation establishes those lateral branches letting them become symmetrical with the main top . If this happens I’ll pony-tail each branch for a day or two then when I untie them I’ll top each branch . For now that’s the plan , make as many arms “branches” with equal growth to the central “main” branch . Day#30 update : she’s been ponytailed for an entire 24hrs which is a 1st she always breaks out of the tie . This makes me happy I timed it better . Usually I ponytail her top when it’s slightly to large/strong so the benefits are short lived at most about 8hrs which still definitely helped those lateral branches reach the light but I was aiming to ponytail her at a smaller growth so that it would remain restrained until I decided to remove it . She’s almost ready for a drink . She could go for one today but I really want to wait until she’s absolutely famished and begging for it . So I’m going to wait another day or two then water her until runoff . The last time she received water was day #24. Day#31Update: well she’s still pony-tailed ! I’m shocked and amused . I’ll let her down finally tomorrow . Made it through an entire month she’s only gotten more beautiful since fixing the VPD issue. I broke and gave her water before she was absolutely begging for it . Mainly to address the low and falling humidity in my tent . I don’t want to lose anymore precious time dealing with issues and setback on those autos finishing up in here . After I last watered the tent day #24 I did a massive leaf defoliation of the flowering girls which dropped the overall tent humidity massively . So I adjusted the intake/exhaust fans as well as the oscillating fan to allow the humidity to rise in the tent . That worked well enough until but as the girls drink slowly the humidity is back falling again into the 45s. I don’t want it in the 40s until buds are swollen . I mixed up a gallon on water and added an ounce of trace micronutrients to it and ph’d it down to 6.4 loaded it into a 1gallon sprayer & sprayed my 3 autos . Having a little less than 1/4 gallon of this full strength solution I decided to see what my Cereal milk plant was made of and gave it to her . I haven’t given any of these girls a full strength dose of anything other than the Gaia Green . At day 42 & Day 35 of the autos in flower I did a too dress of flower nutes & a week later all 3 ladies showed burnt tips so I very well may exacerbate the issue by giving them a full stenches feeding of micronutrients . “Cellie” who went into this 1 gallon pot day#9 is showing what looks hunger signs with the yellowing of the lower leaves . Maybe because I’m letting her go thristy considering there should be 28 days of food in this medium at minimum really even more considering I added more than the recommended amount . So we’ll see. Month 1 Veg went great excited to see what kind of bush she looks like at the end of month 2 and fingers crossed by month 3 she’ll be read to flip to flower and scrog down Day#32 Update: RELEASE FROM PONYTAIL PRISON so to speak 😭. She has so many tops already ! It’s going to be a pleasure and a joy to defoliate her , ponytail all her tops for a couple days , then release the ponytails & top all the main tops once to widen her up some more ! She hasn’t shown signs of stress from that full strength micronutrient feeding I gave her last night so that’s wonderful . She’s going to look absolutely crazy when I strip her bare of a lot of these leaves and ponytail those tops BUT the woman she will be once she fills back out will be worth the temporary tragedy . It will take her relatively 14 days to rebound from the defoliation I’m going to put on her if I go as heavy as I’m planning to .

I really don’t think I stressed these plants that much, temps were all within margins but still didn’t get the weed I was promised, gonna try the strain by RQS again in the future and hope for better results, it might be my inexperience.. nice to see the process with auto’s, 4 plants still reacted completely differently See ya next time ❤️

Welcome to my Lemon Orange Diary sponsored by Green House Seeds. Day 57-64 Week 9 She grew very well. Really healthy through pre flower & very happy to be high stressed. Kept up with Atami Bloom Stim until mid wk 9. And then I started pushing PK booster from plagron and made sure silica boost was given for the stress. Which helped the nodes not break as I HST'ed after pre flower, so there was no growth in the nodes to spring them back up. So the stems walls needed to be strong. And they were. Some naturally did rise towards the light. But not enough to point to rapid but stiffness back into the nodes upward growth, so it's important to have strong membrane walls. After pre fower was over, I cleaned her up also. Took 70% of everything, (defoliation that was done over 3 days.)The other 30% was removed during ripening as it had loads of (hat leafs) leafs surrounding the tops of the main buds blocking light to buds below. Plant has moved great through pre flowering. Very uneven nodes. And where the rest of where my plants where I needed this smaller. So early into week 9 I lollipopped were I knew the HST bend be everywhere below it was stripped. 90% of the nodes where HST'ed. Maintenance Summary 1:Start of wk 9.i lollipopped her, Everything below the planned HST points was removed 2:Defoliations were done in 3 stages. Removing big fan leafs once pre fower was over..I left more than I normally would as HST was in the same wk so I didn't wanna stress too much 3: HST'ed was applied and to make sure she kept a level canopy her nodes were tied down. 4: made sure the soil didn't dry up and was given silica to protect the nodes main membrane as the nodes would be moving for a wk r 2 until it stiffened during fattening. The first 7 days were good the plant is growing nicely. She just got fed for the first time with Goldleaf feterlizer. I had to raise the light higher because she is a little sensitive to the light.

Week 4 Broad Mite still making victim. On this week I watered she with water + diatomaceous earth Still waiting for better days, I hope hv succes 😐 Apparently the diatomaceous earth is working against broadmite 😅

Seems Strawberry will stretch a bit and C-Vibez ) started producing budsites. Trying to lighty defoliate this week and focus on reducing nutrients cause ppm runoff is 1000. I realized this week as I am using RO water I need to supplement more calcium/ magnesium and as all plants were transplanted from BioBizz Lightmix to BioBizz Allmix they all have lot of nutrients in soil. I will just sprinkle a little bit of epsom salt , add low amount of calmag to water with very low amount of REMO nutrients, pH to 6.2 and that is it. Usually I used much lower REMO or BioBizz dosages based on my feeling but then my last diary ( 4 Dutch passion) I had very bad grow. Those 4 plants were transplanted to soil from previous grow ( BioBizz Lightmix + Allmix) to big pots as seedlings so it was hard to measure runoff and ppm of soil spec earlier in the veg. So for this grow my mindset was to follow the charts as much as possible so after 4 weeks of seedling phase in BioBizz Lightmix I transplanted into 18 L AllMix and also started feeding remo in lower dosage but proceeded to increase dosage to remo schedule dosage in a month of veg. I will try to water till runoff and measure to not make same stupid mistakes. Also soon I will be trying Dogma Organic SuperSoil and I will try to compare same genetics in soil with nutrients, dwc and supersoil. My understanding is that using straight RO water in living soil can be problematic so I will keep in mind that factor. My RO filter on the tap has mineralization it comes out 50 ppm. Clones will soon be ready for transplant, I am planning to keep only few alive as I will not have space for all of them, both tents will be available for flower of these clones in around 2 months so plan is to veg few of them in soil and two of them in my DWC setup until Flower tents are ready. Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10 of flowering. One week to go. OK... 1 week to go. I'll post before harvest pics. Been flushing for a week now and have got some yellowing and dying leaves going on. Part of flushing. I add 1 oz. of 30% hydrogen peroxide to each 5 gallons of tap water that goes into the reservoir. Great flushing agent... add oxygen to the water, helps with root rot, and helps to finish the plant before harvest. OK. Keep Growing Straight. Chuck.
