Hello growers day 22 with the hulkberry auto what can I say but wow this girl is really taking off the stem and branching so thick and strong very impressive in 22 days I see her first pistols yesterday so iv added biobizz top max / bio heaven 2ml of each to the mix the 4 other girls I have in 6.5l it’s are doing well 2 of them are just like the 1 in the 11l pot doing very well but 2 are abit slower all in all a very good week iv also been trimming the lower big fan leafs through out the week just to help them breathe thay are growing some big ones so snip them off that’s all for this week be safe and happy growing

I introduced nematodes to the soil, those microscopic warriors who feast on the unsuspecting pests. It's like having a secret army of predators ready to defend my precious plants. But that's not all! To further bolster the defenses, I invited some other beneficial insects to the party. Spical Ulti Mite and Swirskii, the mighty protectors, joined forces to keep those unwanted critters in check. D42 - Today is the first day in the sixth week of veg for #2 and the fifth for #1. It has been six days since the first topping for the first girl, so I went ahead and topped her for the second time. I kept a couple of clones from her this time since she is so vigorous. I also had planned to do the third and final topping on the second girl but knew that I had to buy some more soil staples first. However, this morning a red warning showed up in my Corona warn app. It's the first warning I have ever gotten, but I'm triple vaccinated, of course, and I was wearing my N95 mask for this five-minute exposure, but I want to act responsibly and quarantine for a few days, just in case. So I improvised with BBQ skewers and some electrical tape. The skewers won't hold that well, but the branches are still small, so it shouldn't be a problem until I can venture out again. The cover crop was getting a bit unruly again, so I cut it back again. Finally, I gave both girls around 1.2-liters of water @ pH 6.3 and added a couple of qtips with peppermint oil to deter pests. D43 - I gave each girl about two liters of compost tea that I started brewing yesterday. A bit soon, possibly since I watered them only yesterday, but I needed to feed the girls in the other tent, so these girls got some as well. D45 - Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh! Thrips have found their way into the tent. Lately, I've noticed some discoloration on the older leaves but haven't thought much about it. Today though, it was much more pronounced. I took out my loupe and microscope, and sure enough, I could see thrips larvae. Ugh. I ordered some predatory mites immediately to help with the problem, but they won't get here until a few days, and I want to start fighting the infestation as soon as possible. So, I went out shopping and picked up some pure alcohol, chili flakes, and a spray bottle. After soaking the flakes for a couple of hours, I strained the mixture and prepared a 1:10 solution with distilled water in the spray bottle. I removed all older leaves that were affected most and then sprayed all the remaining leaves, taking care to get them soaked on both sides. This chili tincture is nasty stuff, though, and I was coughing like mad, and the snot was flowing like a spring-river. Next time I'll wear a mask! I also sprayed the clones outside the tent and the Chocodope girl in my other tent, just in case. The Colorado Cookies girl is in flower, though, so I couldn't spray her. She has no sign of infestation, but I'll treat her as well with the mites when they get here. D47 - I resprayed the girls yesterday with the chili tincture to ensure I got to all the little critters, and today, the predatory mites arrived. I hung one sachet on each plant, and I hope that's the end of the little buggers. D48 - The end of another week of veg. The second girl thrives after her third topping, and I will do the third and final topping on the first girl in a couple of days. Once that is done, I can install the scrog net. As for the thrips, I can still see larvae, but they are far and few in between. Hopefully, the predatory mites will soon make short work of them. I haven't even flipped yet, but there are already flowers in the tent!!! Alfalfa flowers that is :D

Week 2 of flower is in the books and all 3 girls are looking extremely healthy. Perfect time to start packing on the weight. There are tons if bud sites that will get tons of light due to all the defoliation I've done. I've never defiliated plants this much before and I'm curious to see the difference in bud production below the canopy level. I love trying new things and experimenting with these plants. Always coming up with new ideas on how to do things and making things easier along the way. Can't wait to see how much I'll get off all 3 and see the difference in phenotypes.

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. Q. What are the potency and terpenoid levels? A. Average 18-20% THCa, THC; negligible CBD, CBN with terps variable, averaging 2.5-3.5, primarily limonene and pinene, but this is variable, there was a lot of diversity in terp combinations and compositions in all the prior generations, it's just something that was left "as is" for now. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. No radiation, no recombinant DNA, no gene splicing or editing, no TALEN or CRISPR! These biotechnologies don't belong in the food and medicine plant industries. Sadly, in the near future it will become commonplace and widespread in cannabis and other medicinal plants as it is already is with food crops and ornamentals. I'll avoid discussion on this topic for now, but we hope some people enjoy consuming Frankenbud! Q. What's the floral period length? A. 8-9 wks, finishes early Oct. at most latitudes and elevations. Q. Is it a big producer? A. Freakshow will produce nice, fat, dense colas (see gallery) with remarkable trichome coverage, and you can expect yields according to your veg. time, root space, and general knowledge and expertise as a gardener. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. Day 57 - Starting week 9 and she’s doing good from the feeding of nutes yesterday and she really seems to like the second AGLEX light on, she’s already plumped up a ton overnight. Went and did a very light defoliating tonight as well and will continue with a little each day. Day 58 - Nothing much to speak of today, she’s fattening up nicely and frosty as hell. The way things are looking, she’ll probably be harvested in two stages unless some of the middle and lower stuff really start filling in. Day 61 - She was all dried up today and needed a good shot of water, pretty droopy, so gave her a full 2 gallons of plain water today. It’s looking like her pistils are shriveling up and might be coming to an end, just a couple weeks left. From here on out, I’ll start monitoring her trichs and probably start flushing her next watering. Day 62 - Did a pretty heavy defoliation today since she doesn’t have much more time left. Buds are nice and fat and only getting frostier and fatter. Might end up doing a little more in a few days depending on how she reacts to today’s work. Day 63 - Ending week 9 today and buds are amazing right now. She’s not gonna get any more nutes other than what the schedule calls for and that’s Magical and Sugardaddy for the flush. First time using the Technaflora nutes from start to finish and impressed so far. Removed a few more leaves today as well. The trichs are mostly cloudy right now with still a few clear but hopefully they’ll amber up in the next 2 weeks or so.

Como se puede ver en el timelapse de la semana anterior la planta va dejando atrás esos problemas de crecimiento de hojas y cada vez va más rápida ayudada principalmente por ese gran par de hojas del segundo nudo. He realizado una poda apical justo después del cuarto nudo como se puede ver en las imagenes. APlicaré LST cuando esas dos ramas principales estén claramente visibles, lo que calculoque será en un par de días y posteriormente colocaré la maya de scrog (calculo que esto será sobre la cuarta semana de crecimiento), dependiendo como vea la malla entonces pasaré a ciclo de floración o dejaré otra semana de crecimiento, pero máximo 5 semanas de vegetativo. La fertilización la mantengo sin cambios, aun queda bastante solución nutritiva en el depósito, la cual mantiene el ph a cerca de 6 (6.07) y la ec al estabilizarse ha subido un poco 1,7 que sigue siendo un buen valor.

Tag 8 : Das umtopfen in 1l Töpfe hat den Pflanzen gut getan sie entwickeln sich weiterhin gut, auf Lichtintensität 50% umgestellt Tag 9 : Lichtintensität auf 60% gestellt langsam erhöhen und beobachten, es bilden sich kleine Kugel Trichome auf den Blättern die sehr gut duften wenn man sie leicht reibt. Gegen 16:00 Uhr das Wasser mit Biobizz CalMag 0.3ml/l versetzt und mit BioBizz Bio Down auf einen PH Wert von 6,4 gebracht, anschließend alle Töpfe befeuchtet und mit kurzer Wartezeit 150ml Wasser pro Topf gegeben was 15% Topfvolumen der 1l Töpfe entspricht, es entsteht kein Drain. Tag 10: Den Pflanzen gefallen die größeren Töpfe und anscheinend auch das PH angepasste Wasser sowie das zusätzliche BioBizz CalMag es wird stetig Blattmasse zugelegt. Tag 11: Die Entwicklung schreitet gut voran, heute um 09:45 Uhr habe ich die Lichtintensität auf 70% erhöht und beobachte wie die Pflanzen reagieren, ich denke morgen wird wieder gegossen, das Gewicht der Töpfe kontrolliere ich mit einer Waage. Tag 12: Heute morgen um 7:30 Uhr jeden Topf gewogen, anschließend befeuchtet und nach einigen Minuten warten Wasser mit einem PH Wert von 6,5 und 0,3ml BioBizz CalMag gegossen. Die Erhöhung der Lichtintensität von 70 % vertragen sie ganz gut aber ich kriege meinen VPD Wert nicht niedriger durch die hohen Temperaturen und geringe Luftfeuchtigkeit die durchs Fenster kommen evtl. muss ich nochmal einen Luftbefeuchter dazu stellen. Tag 13: Alles sieht gut aus, mit dem Luftbefeuchter kann ich den VPD besser regulieren, morgen wird umgetopft und gegossen, beim wiegen der Töpfe waren die Wurzeln schon unten am Topf zu sehen, heute gibt es nichts weiter zu tun. Tag 14: Die Töpfe sind sehr gut durchwurzelt ich denke der Shrooms Wurzelstimulator hat auch dazu beigetragen, eigentlich wollte ich heute in 5,7L Töpfe umtopfen schaffe dies leider nicht aus Zeitmangel. Deswegen ist der Plan die Pflanzen bis morgen weiter durchtrocknen zu lassen und sie ein bisschen mehr zu stressen. Morgen werden dann alle in 5,7L Töpfe gesetzt und ordentlich angegossen. Das ist das Ende der zweiten Woche. Mein Fazit: Es lief bisher alles gut eine Pflanze zeigt an den unteren Blättern einen Nährstoffmangel vielleicht kommt das weil ich sie am Anfang evtl. überwässert habe, trotz der schlechten Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeitsverhältnissen die ich durch den Luftbefeuchter seit einigen Tagen besser im Griff habe, haben sich meiner Einschätzung nach alle Pflanzen ganz gut entwickelt. Falls jemand diesen Bericht lesen sollte bin ich gerne froh Tipps und Hinweise zu hören da dies mein erster Grow ist. Morgen nach dem umtopfen gibt es wieder ein Update ;)
