This week has been wild. I had to cut the sides of the greenhouse as the plants had it bursting at the seams. These girls are all flowering beautifully and starting to frost up. Still loving the pink pistols. Happy Growing

Plants are doing good but humidity could be higher sometimes. I am spraying the Clones with water to keep them hydrated as long as they dont have strong roots. Clones experienced slight sunburn but nothing bad.

Day 63 This plant now shows a much fuller canopy, with strong lateral growth and dense foliage. The training earlier in veg has clearly paid off — multiple tops are reaching upward, giving the structure a wide and balanced appearance. The node spacing is fairly tight, and the plant has developed into a bushy, healthy shape. Leaf color is a deep, rich green, a sign of good nutrient uptake. The canopy is vigorous and energetic, with new shoots continuing to push through. The posture of the leaves is upright and responsive, indicating that the plant is currently in a comfortable environment. No major signs of deficiencies are visible from this angle. At this stage, the plant looks ready to transition soon if the goal is flowering. The main considerations now are airflow and light penetration: the canopy is dense, so a light defoliation of older fan leaves could help improve circulation and ensure even bud development later on. Next steps will be to maintain a steady feeding schedule, monitor watering carefully, and prepare for the upcoming stretch once the light cycle is switched.

Eternity Grow Cup - Week 11 VEG Report This is a pivotal week in our Eternity Grow Cup journey as we wrap up VEG and prepare to transition into FLOWER. Our goal has been to ensure that the plants are thriving and optimized for the next phase. This report will detail everything that took place during this crucial week. Mass Defoliation & Structural Training We began the week with an extensive defoliation session. Every leaf with a stem was removed to clear space for optimal light penetration and airflow. This process was done mostly by hand, clicking them off in the opposite direction of growth, while some stubborn ones were snipped with scissors. By the end, it felt like we had taken out nearly half a kilo of leaves! The room now looks clean, structured, and ready to fill out the ScroggNet. To further enhance the plant structure, branches were attached to the pots, allowing for better horizontal growth. This technique helps maximize canopy exposure and prepares the plants for even light distribution once flowering begins. Defoliation before flowering is a key step as it reduces overcrowding, improves airflow, and sets the plants up for efficient energy use in the next phase. Light Schedule & Adjustments This week, we introduced a subtle but effective light adjustment. While still maintaining an 18-hour light cycle, we initiated a 15-minute delay with the whites, allowing the reds to start first. This gradual shift signals the plants that a change is coming. Similarly, at the end of the light cycle, the whites turn off 15 minutes earlier, leaving the reds on for an extended period. This strategy mimics natural sunrise and sunset, helping the plants transition more smoothly into flowering. Additionally, at the end of the week, we will be implementing 48 hours of darkness before the official flip to flower. This method has worked exceptionally well in past grows, helping plants recognize the transition and encouraging a strong start to flowering. However, it's important to emphasize that this is a personal technique and not a universal rule. Every grower should experiment with different methods to find what works best for their specific environment. Environmental Conditions & Challenges Currently, our temperature is at 27°C with 60% humidity, resulting in a VPD of 1.50. While slightly higher than the ideal for VEG, our CO2 levels are over 1000 ppm, and the light intensity is at 570 PPFD, making it a manageable balance. The solution pH is 5.79 (essentially 5.8), EC is 1.38, and water temperature is 17.7°C. One challenge we are facing is maintaining optimal reservoir temperatures. Currently, it's a bit low at 17.7°C, and we are exploring solutions to raise it slightly. However, the medium temperature sits at 22.2°C, which is a good range. The humidifier is still in use, though it struggles to increase humidity further, so we are working with what we have to keep the VPD in check. ICL-300s Integration The ICL-300 lights are now fully active. Unlike the last grow, where we introduced them later, this time they are on from the start of flowering prep. This adjustment is an experiment to see if the plants respond better to an early introduction. Learning is at the core of this journey, and each grow offers new insights. Whether this proves to be the optimal strategy or not, it will be a valuable lesson for future grows. So the ladies are still standing. I decided to let them go another few days to fully mature. They are looking very nice and the extra days were really worth it. I gave the girls an organic compost tea for nutrients(1 tsp Blk molasses,1cup worm cast,2 tablespoon kelp,2 tablespoon alfalfa meal,1tablespoon bat guano) and lsted again to get more bushier autos. I also moved my smallest autoflower to my 4x4 tent which is on a 12/12 schedule on 3/18/23

Week 6 of flowering 10/23/24 Changed nutrients to fit week 6 Buds are getting even bigger and thicker. Defoliated a little. Noticed a PH of 4.8 in runoff, same as the late stage of flower in my previous grow. After lowering feed EC, CalMag on max strength, flushing with 0.8ec nutes for 3 days in a row, nothing changed and PH stayed the same. Read in a forum thread about constant low PH in the rootzone when growing in coco. Got great info about CEC, water, nutrients and little chemistry from a detailed explanation. (https://www.icmag.com/threads/recurring-problem-with-low-ph-in-coco.338385/page-2#post-10843765) Flushed plants with tap water + calmag, PH 6.5. Used 120L total for 4 plants in 2 days. 1st day: flushed after lights on, did not water until 2 hours before lights off and flushed again. Runoff PH went up a little, but not to the correct range. 2nd day: flushed after lights on and checked runoff EC + PH, of each plant. Fortunately, PH got corrected to 5.8, and I returned to automatic watering 4 times a day (with 10%-20% runoff). Thoughts: In the last grow, I thought I had a problem because of salts buildup in the media with constantly low PH in late flower. I didn't fully correct the problem till chop day. Same problem here in the same stage of flower without the salt buildup. After reading every forum I could find about the problem, I understood that my bloom nutes were the main problem because of their chemical composition. The coco ability to exchange ions lead to the low PH in the rootzone. It got worse quickly because I did not use any tap water with the feedings, so the PH could swing easily and drastically without resistance. After I looked online for the T.A. feeding chart, I saw they used TriPart Grow till week 7 of flower, the Nitrogen type they are using will up the PH. CocoForCannabis chart that I'm using, has not enough nitrogen to combat the bloom nutes PH down effect in flower. It gets even worse with RO water because there are no minerals that can resist PH down. Now I'm using 30% tap water with rest RO water, T.A. TriPart feeding chart with calmag and silica. Hopefully I have corrected the problem for the rest of the grow. It wasn't easy, because there were lots of variables that worsened the problem quickly. Now I'm checking runoff PH and EC daily. Update on next week :)
