This week has gone fine except for one thing which I’ll come to later on. Still stretching, canopy par level is 900 on average and I don’t have any way of getting the lights up further. Hoping the intense light will slow the stretch down a bit but we will have to wait and see. Worst case I’ll have to dim the lights down a bit. That leads me onto the mystery of this week. The nearly dead plant. I have no idea why it has gone so limp. You can kind of see on the photo lapse how quickly it collapses. Incase it’s some kind of disease I’ll give it another day in there. If it doesn’t recover I’ll have to pull her out and try to train the other plants over her empty spot so I don’t waste any light. EC is around 1.2-1.5 atm, the highest dose I’ll be giving them will be week 4 and 5 of flower when the buds seem to do the most weight gains (visually). Canopy is actually quite even if you overlook the hole in the canopy, maybe a couple inches between highest and lowest. Anyway, thanks for checking in guys, if anyone has any thoughts/comments about the dead plant let me know as I’m struggling to find answers online. 😊

Day 152 from seed ( 98 days since I changed photoperiod) and I'm harvesting after one week flush. A few buds seemed to have started decaying inexplicably, like burned, and had acquired a grayish- brownish coloration that I didn't like at all. I think she's caught a fungus. Besides I also think spider mites have done they job well because I was amazed at the extent they had sucked the sap on almost every leaf of the plant, fan leaves mostly. They have weakened the plant so much that she may be int he process of a more terrible thing that could be fungi. Back to spider mites, it is indeed nasty to see the damage this pest has done so far, because I see they have chewed almost -if not all- leaves, and fortunately they hadn't started to form webs, which I abhore seeing. I had started to see adult spider mite forms into the very inside of buds, while I was inspecting the thricomes, so before this nasty pest would eat up my precious buds, or any other cause (mold, etc) I took the decision to flush and harvest her progressively. First I'd harvest the most ripen buds or those that show signs of decaying and leave to the end the most immature (those that were far from lights, which are terminal and very big and dense though a but immature and bright green. The plant looked overall ready and I preferred to harvest the most bud I could, as you may imagine, but I would have liked another week for flushing more thoroughly. I've been flushing with tapwater and 2 mL/L Flawless Finish from Advanced Nutrients. In the next few days I'll be finishing her completely, drying won't take long and as for curing I think a couple of weeks. The smell in the room is really heavy (in fact it has been heavy for the last month), it stinks oif citrus here.

She’s taking her sweet time now! I found a nanner and pulled it off, but I have to keep an eye out. You can see from the trichome shots that she is not ready yet... thinking maybe 1-2 more weeks—-hoping for sooner. Going to start a flush because of the leaf yellowing. Otherwise, she’s moving along! ✌️🏻💚🌿💨

This week brought a mix of progress and a little drama. On Day 30, the Do-Si-Dos Auto was top-dressed with worm castings, Stonington Plant Food, and fish bone meal, then watered with a Big Bud nutrient solution (2 ml/L). She responded well and showed continued healthy growth. On Day 32, a surprising discovery: the main stem had snapped during earlier LST without being noticed, effectively topping the plant. The damage was clean and the plant adjusted quickly, redirecting growth to surrounding branches. LST ties were released temporarily to reduce stress, and leaves were tucked to expose new growth. Light LST resumed later in the week to maintain an even canopy. Humidity ranged from 53–65% and temps hovered between 75–81°F. Lighting was gradually increased to nearly 75% over the course of the week, with the light height raised to 21" above the canopy after redesigning the desk setup. The plant was placed onto a new auto-watering base, raising the pot height and improving drainage and airflow. No Cal-Mag was applied this week, but a Cal-Mag watering is planned for early Week 6.

10 weeks / 70 days old today. Buds are all a bit fatter and a bit frostier this week! They glisten in the light and and are well and truly coated. Noticed a few leaves with brown spots this week and after reading up I decided it could be a calcium deficiency. Gave a cal mag feed and monitored and no more brown spots have appeared. We’re pretty close to the finish line now so not sure I’ve done the right thing or whether I should just let it be. Few more old leaves at the bottom started to yellow so chopped them. Some trichomes are starting to turn milky but majority are still clear. Haven’t bothered with a picture because it’s so hard to get a clear one. Still taking up lots of water and giving 3ml of bloom nutrients in every water. Been reading lots about flushing and I’m not sure whether to do it. Read lots that say if it’s cured properly then there isn’t any difference to the taste. I think half the battle is knowing when to do it. How does a beginner know when you’ve got 2 weeks left?! Been tempted to chop off the popcorn buds and so glad I didn’t. I put some bulbs lower down to give them plenty of light and they’re fattening up pretty well. Bit worried again about the space issue. Lots of new pistils have sprouted and most are around the top buds. Read that it could be foxtailing due to light stress but could also just be buds fattening out and having a last try at pollinating 🤷🏻‍♀️ who knows! Overall another exciting week getting closer to the finish. Booked our summer holiday for August and trying to decide whether to start a new grow when these finish. there’s a risk they might not be done in time but I’m desperate to try again and improve on this one. I have well and truly got the grow bug!!

10. Woche 2 Wochen noch, heute gab es das letzte Mal Dünger für Gelonade, jetzt wird nur noch gespült. Sie riecht wirklich sehr frech nach reifer, frischer Zitrone, als würde man in einer Plantage stehen mit reifen Früchten. Wirklich sehr schöne Genetik. Ich habe die knusprigen Blätter entfernt und habe die Position mit Pink Runtz getauscht. Das Licht läuft jetzt auf 100% für die letzten 2 Wochen. Jetzt geben wir nochmal Vollgas.

Semana de transición entre el abono para el periodo vegetativo (Bio Vega) y el abono que utilizaremos durante el periodo de floración (Bio Flores). El primero más rico en nitrógeno y el segundo, en fósforo, magnesio y potasio. Mezclo Bio Rhizotonic + Bio Vega + Bio Flores y riego con 50 litros de agua, todo el cultivo... Alterno riegos cada tres días, unos con abono y otros con agua. La próxima semana, elimináremos Bio Vega.

Flowering continued successfully this week, with some rather expansive growth of the bud sites. Vertical growth has essentially ceased, and she is clearly putting most of her energy into flower production. The flowers and surrounding leaves are getting rather frosty. Even more so than was to be expected, and I’m excited to see how she continues as we transition into mid/late flower. These elements were significant enough that, last week, I decided it was time to break out the big guns and start using the macro lens to take some good shots for everyone. The plant has handled the tent-swap and transition to 20/4 light very well, showing no signs of stopping. The DLI at the base of the king bud rests around 38.5. I am very glad we made the swap, as you can see some premature browning of the pistils on the king bud, due to light burn from the other (shorter) tent. This is a perfect representation of the risks of not doing any training on your plant: they tend to grow like weeds! (lol) The swap to Athena Blended Bloom A/B from Grow A/B has been uneventful, with no signs of nutrient lockout or stunted development.

My Bubble OG plants are looking really good. I chopped down the first one a few days ago, and it's almost dried. The other two plants are absolutely covered in buds. The tall one's a monster, totally solid and covered in crystals. And that purple plant is just gorgeous, stacked with buds all the way down. Can't wait to try them all out. The past week has been awesome for drying my plants. The weather's been perfect – nice and dry, with just enough breeze to keep things moving. I finally got around to chopping down those two big plants I've been meaning to trim. They're almost ready, just need a little more time to dry out completely. I can't wait to see how they turned out.

End of the third week of the stretch and they certain out did stretch indeed😳. Had to crop over the tallest female - she just stretched wayyy too much and that’s gonna go against her in the rankings when we draw out our seed on each plant. The first male has dropped fully and the others are another 1-2 days out from harvest. We’ll collect all that pollen and store it for future use if it’s needed. The plants are all showing both similarities and differences - there’s an even distribution of sativa and indica leaning phenos which suggests that there is def. Some variability in terms of traits for this F1 generation. Exactly what we were looking for as we pare this down to the second filial generation. On the overall growth - absolutely no issues at all with nutritional deficiencies which is a welcome change of pace. The last while we’ve been growing some strains that have shown very odd reactions to nute changes and I suspect this is a result of certain strains simply being bred out too far. Hard to say but the radar is definitely up with the well known breeders right now. We have some real winner pheno clones that we’ve rooted and will be flowering out once we get this tent cleaned up and free of pollen. All told, the run is progressing much better than anticipated and with the rate of turnover through transition, I’m happy to say that there isn’t any one plant I won’t consider test running on the next cycle. We did have some og auto genetics in the tent for pollination as well but that plant is looking like a bit of a mutant. Not sure if we’ll even bother with testing it at this point but you never know. Expect a harvest update on the males as we move in to the flowering side of the grow and then it’s just waiting around for seed👍. Alls well for now. Background This project has been a year in strain selection (and another year in the actual making) to get to this point with a viable potential cross. It’ll be a true polyhybrid with a mix of sativa and indica leaning properties for each. We’ve combined an especially powerful hybrid sativa strain of Strawberry with an equally manageable and hard hitting strain of indica dominant Skywalker OG. The hope has always been to combine them and boil out the best characteristics of each. The strawberry is phenomenal in terms of terp profile and a mix of strong head and body effects while the Skywalker is a mind bending, body butter kind of indica with that earthy Kush profile and flowery undertones. The strawberry is prone to botrytis and fasciation but features excellent terps and yields if grown correctly. She’s Also stretchy and somewhat unruly when she gets going. The Skywalker is a contrast in growth characteristics with a squat structure, medium sized buds and excellent resilience and resistance. The plan is to seed out the available females and take cuts of what we can post-stretch to get a closer look at any differing phenos. Still very much early stages for a stabilized new strain but we’ve got the right foundation of solid genetics. Now we just gotta get it off the ground to the next generation👍. We’re predominantly focused on the plants that demonstrate that hybrid vigour and wasting no time with any problem plants or runts. The temperatures, humidity, and watering volume(if measured) in grow conditions are all averaged for the week. The pH is soil pH. Any watering done by me is well water which is 7.6 pH and 50° F. Any listed nutrients are ml/gallon of soil. Day 1 we had sunshine and clear skies until the afternoon. We had clouds roll in and about 4:00 P.M. a severe thunderstorm hit. There was high wind, heavy rain, and grape sized hail. Fortunately the hail lasted only a few minutes. Day 2 we have clear skies and sunshine. The temperature is mid 70's. Day 3 we had rain and thunderstorms through the previous night and into the morning. We had sunshine, clear skies, and temperatures in the upper 70's. That was followed by severe thunderstorms, rain, and a touch of hail from 4p.m. to 6p.m. These were topped and had thr bottom nodes removed. Day 4 we had relief from the rain. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 70's and lots of sunshine. We have a few days of sunshine in the forecast 🙏 Day 5 we had lots of sunshine and clear skies. Highs in the upper 70's and 49% humidity. We needed the dryness. 🙏. Day 6 we had clear skies and sunshine. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 70's. Day 7 we had partly cloudy skies and temps in the middle 70's. This week was a success. The plants doubled in height and thankfully didn't have any serious damage from the hail.
