Both phenotypes reached maturity beautifully, wrapped in dense, resin-coated buds that carry the unmistakable aroma of sweetness and spice. 🌱 From Seed to Harvest — A Journey in Full Bloom Our Lava Cake journey began from seed with two unique phenotypes, both full of potential and personality. Week after week, through careful nutrition, TrolMaster monitoring, and endless observation, we watched them evolve. From the early stages of vegetative vigor, through the lush canopy of mid-flower, and even through the challenges of heat and bud rot, these girls showed true resilience. Each setback taught something — about balance, airflow, humility, and the living rhythm of nature. Both plants were ultimately harvested with respect and gratitude. ⸻ ✂️ Harvest & Trimming After about two weeks of slow drying at 60°F / 60% RH, the branches began to snap — a sure sign the moisture was just right. Each plant was trimmed by hand, carefully and patiently, letting every calyx, pistil, and trichome tell its own story. The buds were dense, sticky, and heavily frosted — a trimmer’s delight. Finger hash collected along the way was pure gold, rich in aroma and bursting with terpenes. Each snip of the scissors felt like sculpting something sacred. Both plants were dried whole, allowing for slower moisture migration and a smoother final cure. ⸻ 🌿 On Trichomes and Harvest Timing We chose to harvest when most trichomes were cloudy, with only a few still clear and very few amber. This moment — just before full amber maturity — is where potency meets flavor at its peak. Why cloudy trichomes? Because that’s when cannabinoids like THC and terpenes are at their maximum activity. Too early, and you lose potency; too late, and THC starts converting into CBN, giving a heavier, sleepier effect. Cloudy trichomes deliver a balanced high — euphoric yet grounding — capturing the essence of the strain in its full potential. ⸻ 🌸 Aroma, Taste & Effects The Lava Cake lives up to her name and lineage. 7/12 Soil was a little damp so I watered lightly only what looked like it needed it. Dr. Zymes seems to have no negative effects. Plants just look super clean. I still saw some patches of PM and I only had the free samples so I'm going to have to use another product in conjunction to treat this. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the Dr. Zymes. HAD MY VIDEO AND TONS OF PICS UPLOADED BUT THIS SITE WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO SAVE. I'LL UPLOAD THE REST LATER "IF" THIS EVEN ALLOWS ME TO SAVE. Went back over at three and watered the girls. Everything looks amazing. Trying to upload video now. 7/13 Didn't water this morning. Plants look fantastic. Went over at 4:30pm. Things looked great. Definitely stretching. I took some good pictures. Didn't water as plants seemed VERY happy and soil still had a little moisture. I gave them a touch of kindness which means I gave them a tiny bit of water to hold them over until morning. I know this is not a good practice to get into but I didn't want to come back to wilting plants. The little seedlings are turning more lime green (which isn't good) and have some yellow leaves. They have recycled soil from last grow. May need to feed more. I went through them and moths flew everywhere. We have a major brown tail moth problem here. I know I just sprayed Dr. Zymes but I'm going to have to spray BT. I must've seen at least half a dozen moths. On just those three tiny plants. Still struggling with PM. 7/14 Went to the garden briefly this morning. It rained last night and was drizzling while I was there so I obviously didn't water. Its still sprinkling and I'll be over there later to check. Plants are really stretching into "the asparagus" stage as I like to call it lol. What will eventually be a bunch of colas stretch into what I think looks like asparagus spears. That may be part of the reason why some of the leaves turn yellow and die in the lower middle canopy during this time. Everything looks great though and I certainly have plenty of leaves. I looked at last year's diary at this date and got some relief noticing the same things happening last year at the same time of year. UPDATE: Went back to the grow as the "rain" and "thunder showers" weren't producing much water. I checked the soil and it seemed to have dried out some (more on smaller bags) and hadn't FULLY watered the plants. I watered lightly. I listened and I could hear the water work it's way down the medium. Even if it pours tonight plants will be ready for a feed tomorrow. The 3 little ones in buckets outside especially. I have work to do tomorrow. 7/15 It's overcast today and looks like rain. Forecast called for a nice sunny day. Anyway I fed two gallons to nutes to the garden and did some slight defoliation. I had to hurry as I had a doctor's appointment. I have branches that need to be tied down and plants need to be cleaned up a bit. If it's not raining I may do a preventative BT spray. We have a HORRENDOUS outbreak of brown tail moths. I don't think the bother cannabis but they are poisonous and the rash that develops is hell. 90 degrees at 6:30 plants weren't totally dry but the top inch or so was so I gave them a good drink. Took some pictures and a video I'll upload when I have a better connection. Cop was watching me. Good thing I'm in a legal state and my grow is totally on point. 7/16 No water this morning. Soil was still wet. Plants are looking good. Will update more later on. Defoliation, pruning and spraying are on the agenda. Made a video and took more pictures but internet is spotty and doesn't want to upload. Went back and watered lightly before a massive thunder storm dropped sheet rain for like an hour. Internet is still slow so I'll have to wait till tomm to upload. 7/17 No water. Brown tail moth rash is driving me crazy. Plants still stretching and look overall healthy. Defoliated some this morning. Will update more later. Went back over and gave a little water before it began to downpour. 7/18 Raining with what looks like more rain in the forecast. Good. Hopefully will help me lower the pH a little. I didn't take pictures or even go in the cage this morning. This brown tail moth rash has me scared lol. It really sucks. Makes poison ivy seem pleasant. When rain stops BT will be sprayed.

Week 5 of flowering, looking great. Sugaring up nicely. Aroma now becoming very noticeable. 25 March - watered w nutes 2L each. 28 March - watered w nutes 2L each. 31 March - minimal PK nutes 2L each. Runtz Harvested as hermied. Disappointed- these two clones both hermied upon inspection with male flowers and a few bananas. No other plants in tent hermied and conditions have been optimal this run. Clones from mother which hermied last run but not picked up until harvest but gave a second chance with clones as weather had been very hot.

She was growing from beginning very well Turned out to a strong well structured Plant Buds are dense and Thick, she smells super This Run was one of my Best, I feel iam reaching good Levels in the Growingconditions VPD, Wind, and Fertiliser helped the Genetics to show what they got!---- Especially to mention are the Hyphotonflux HPF-4000. All Plants responded very well to the Lightspectrum

Although I am blown away by the growth and progress she is making. I am extremely concerned about the high temperatures in the grow room. It's between 26-32 degrees, not ideal! I can't seem to cool it down at all as it's 30+ outside. I have an alternative plan for drying so I will be able to do that at a reasonable temperature but I'm concerned a lot of potency and some of the more volatile terpines might have evaporated 😭

Mid-week, I topped the plants, and #2 has been selected as the mother plant, showing growth traits closest to the Skunk phenotype. I chose this plant for its expected resilience, which I'm now starting to test. The plants are currently receiving foliar feedings three times a day and are kept in very humid conditions. #2 was exposed to intense LST, with the stem slightly bending at this young stage — there’s a chance I might need to grow a new mother plant, but we’ll see how it recovers. So far, they’re loving the conditions and growing quickly!

Raised the lamp about 10 cm to make sure that the girls don't get burned again. Hola que tal? yo me he levantado en domingo a las 08:30 me he tomado un café y me pegado un bongazo de aúpa jaja después, musica y hacerles una sesión de fotos a las plantitas 😇👌🏽 Pues hoy es el último día de la 7ª semana de floración, veo a 3-4 plantas listas para cosecha. Esta semana en los directos de twitch usaremos la lupa para ver el punto de maduracion de los tricomas. Deciros que estoy muy sorprendido con las Harlequin CBD ya que están sacando unas porras muy interesantes con aromas súper inciensados, son plantas mega compactas ideales para espacios pequeños y súper productivas!! vaya tela! Una de ellas está súper oscura y tiene mitad planta color verde mitad morada/negra de locos. Sobre las mimosa pues más de lo mismo, más resina, más cogollos, más aroma y plantas muy fáciles de llevar sinceramente... Los colores morados rojizos y naranjas que están sacando me encantan Que deciros de la Mimosa GB que mutó y desarrolló Fasciacion en una de sus ramas satélite. Da cierto miedo ver el cogollo parece que me vaya a engullir jjajjjaja 90 dias desde que se empezaron a germinar son semillas de gbstrains bajo los leds de gblightning y abonadas con boom nutrients todo gracias a @gbthegreenbrand @growbarato

I'm currently flushing with decanted water for 48 hours, using Bio-Down to lower my pH, which is still between 6.65 and 6.7. Even with just water, it's still producing flowers. My harvest is still scheduled for March 29th. Next, I've selected my next strains that I'll be planting. I'll start a separate journal for each strain, which will be 6 strains from 5 different seed banks. I cant believe how FAT Mimosa got. Looks like it's on a McDonald's only diet...big, juicy and shiny this one is. The fade is on half way alredy and despite i cuted a couple of branches on the Apple&Bazookiez, I've decidid to let it go another week. Colours on this one are stunning. Red and purple buds and fades all over. Despite the slim rock hard nuggets i believe the thc and terpenes are going to make up for the lack of weight. They have been on straight ph water for the last 2 weeks and thats how they going to be for the last 1 and 2 weeks respectively. See you on next Sunday. Good grows🌲
