She had 2 be topped in her second week of rooting do 2 the top frying from to much light in young clone stage. Since the topping this lady has come 2 life!! She has been defoliated 4 times! Most recent defoliation 3/24! She spent her first month feeding just off nutrients in fox farm soil. On 3/2/22 I gave her her first Gaia Green trio feeding!! She has exploded with growth since!! She was defoliated on 3/27 again. She was given her second feeding of @gaiagreenorganics on 4/02. This lady was defoliated on 4/10 and 4/19 and 5/1. She received a all purpose/bloom feed of Gaia green on 5/2. She was also flipped to 12/12 light cycle on 5/2. She received a heavy defoliation on 5/29. Which means airflow and internal light penetration become critical early. And that’s exactly why this week mattered. ⸻ 🍃 The Defoliation — Not Aesthetic. Architectural. This was not cosmetic trimming. It was: • Removing large fan leaves blocking interior bud sites • Cleaning inner congestion • Opening airflow channels • Resetting light distribution across the canopy • Helping the entire room environment (not just this plant) The room needed air — this plant was advanced enough to handle stress. That’s key. Week 3 of flower is the transition window: • Stretch is slowing • Bud sites are set • Energy shifts toward stacking At this stage, a strategic defoliation: • Improves transpiration efficiency • Reduces microclimate humidity pockets • Prevents internal leaf-to-leaf condensation • Encourages bud site activation below the top canopy This was structural architecture. Not haircut vanity. ⸻ 🌡️ 28°C in Flower — “Too Hot?” Let’s Go Deep. People panic when they hear 28°C in flower. But here’s where most growers confuse: 🔥 HPS vs LED Heat Behavior Under HPS: • Radiant heat warms leaf surfaces directly • Leaf temperature often equals or exceeds room temp • 28°C air under HPS can mean 30–32°C leaf temp • That pushes VPD dangerously high Under LED: • Less infrared radiation • Leaf surface temp is typically 1–3°C LOWER than room temp • So at 28°C room temp, leaf temp might be 25–26°C And VPD calculations depend on leaf temperature, not air temperature. ⸻ 🌿 What Is Leaf VPD? VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) measures the difference between: • Moisture inside the leaf • Moisture in the surrounding air But if you calculate VPD using only room temp, you’re missing the real transpiration dynamics. With: • 28°C air • ~25–26°C leaf surface (LED) • 65% RH Leaf VPD sits in a very workable mid-flower zone. Not extreme. Not stress-inducing. Not shutdown territory. We’re driving metabolism, not cooking terpenes. ⸻ 💧 Why 65% RH Isn’t Dangerous Here Context matters: • Good airflow • Opened canopy • Compact but cleaned structure • Early-mid flower (Week 3, not Week 7) At this stage: • Pistils are forming • Bud density is still moderate • Transpiration is active High humidity becomes dangerous when: • Bud mass is dense • Internal airflow is poor • Late flower resin traps moisture We’re not there yet. And we just improved airflow with defoliation. ⸻ ⚡ EC 2.9 — Aggressive but Intentional That EC is strong. But: • Plant is compact, not oversized • Sour Diesel can eat • pH 6.5 keeps availability wide (Ca, Mg, P balance) The key will be: • Watching leaf tips • Monitoring runoff behavior • Watching for clawing or salt stress Right now, if she’s praying and stacking, she’s handling it. ⸻ 🔍 What To Expect Next Week (Flower Week 4) After defoliation: You may see: • Slight pause (24–72 hours) • Increased vertical bud push • Better lower-site activation • More defined pistil clustering • Stronger apical dominance response If recovery is clean: • Buds begin early stacking phase • Internodes tighten • Resin production initiates at bract level If stress appears: • Slight leaf droop • Tip burn acceleration • Reduced upward leaf angle But based on structure and timing — this looks calculated, not reactive. ⸻ 🧠 Why This Week Matters Long-Term This week determines: • Airflow pattern for late flower • Mold resistance later • Bud density uniformity • Final trim efficiency • Light-to-bud conversion efficiency This wasn’t about now. Final 10 days for this plant, got flushed yesterday now shes on ripen untill harvest

This girl is growing so nicely Ive decided to toss her outside and see how she does. Her FIM worked out nicely and she is growing many long branches.

Things are picking up slowly had some terrible weather over the last few weeks could really do with some sun again lol. We live and learn hopefully we pull thro this one.

2 weeks to flower in main tent. Red Hot May have had a little nute burn. Lighting is at 628 on Par meter. 78deg avg. Malt was accidentally super cropped. Healing from splitting her branch. Oozecake aka Judy is my prize now. She fought through some mold 1st week. Transplanted her with only 1 node. Then her 2nd transplant to 1 gallon she was stunted for a week.

Day 36 Stretching has slowed but not stopped. 28-29” today. Feeding 3L per plant now. The orange haze seems to be flawless, the other 2 needing a little extra calmag and N, but early flower can be expected. Humidity holding at around 50-55% little higher than I want but plenty of air blowing inside and strong extraction, so no problem. Would like to see the bud sites fill out over the next few weeks, before swelling. White pistils everywhere very exciting to see these blossom. Lovely mild fruity smell already from the tent

Repotted her from the 4,4L pot into a much larger, 20L pot using only the pre-fertilized growmix from Floragard. Adjusted the amount of nutrients since she's in early flowering phase right now. Continuing LST as she develops new branches and therefore attempting to extend her over the whole pot width and beyond, trying to get the maximum amount of mainbuds. Also bought a dehumidifier (Comfee MDDN-10DEN7) since theres too high humidity for her in flowering phase; especially because there is low airflow and no window in that tiny room (we peaked at 70-80% humidity at night, at ~20°C, before!). We set it up to be in 60% humidity right now.

Finally got the temps up to an average of 78°F with the lights on and things turned right around. Someone on here reccomended I try putting a small 250w heater inside the tent with a fan behind it and it worked so shootout to @lionsshare. I took the autos and clones out and put them in the other tent. I have to take cuts of everything in here in case there is something special. It's been non stop work. The video was taken on day 2 of flower. I gave them a 36 hour dark period as well so they should stretch a little more and I might throw a few more plants in if there is room. One of these was topped and is flourishing the other one was not and is doing well but has strange growth, very thick foliage and a weird structure.

8/30/17 It's been an emotional week, sorry for the lack of updates. I finally had to admit that 4 of my plants, while fully pre-flowered, did not auto-flower under 20 hour lights. The decision was made to remove them from the tent. It was a tough decision made easier as Auto Speed Bud #3 reached over 130cm and was touching the light, blocking light from plants that WERE flowering. There was really no choice at that point. So I spent 2 days trying to find them a new home. Yes, I had grown attached. Yes I found them a home. They have been transferred to soil and will be going under 12/12. I don't really know the guy well who ended up with them (a friend of a friend), so I don't know if I will ever know how they did, but they were part of my first grow so I am glad they got adopted rather than me having to kill them. In other news, I have had to start adding stakes to keep buds from falling, notably on the Kush (my superstar and only LST plant) and the Mango Cream, which seems to have hollow stems. I was concerned about this until I read up on it and hollow stems are a sign of no lockout or deficiencies and good nute uptake. They certainly look beautiful, so this is good news. However, so far 3 stakes have been added to the Mango Cream, so I hope I didn't damage the roots too much. I am looking into an alternative to stakes for the next go round. I didn't expect buds that heavy, but I ain't complaining! Switching from Ful-Potential to Ful-Power when I soon finish the bottle. Nothing wrong with Ful-Potential, I just keep hearing about how good the chelation in the Ful-Power is, so I am game to try it since I need more Humics/Fulvics anyway. It is worth noting that I am now running ALL the GH nutes at full strength with no hint of burn. I am tempted to push them, but being my first grow, I don't think I will. However, this is a solid foundation for me to tinker with formulas for my next grows. The medium and my setup has performed wonderfully so far, and if the harvest is a success, I will certainly be more confident to experiment further. I may, however, use full strength Ful-Power which recommends reducing nutes by 10-20%. Instead of increasing nutes, full strength Ful-Power may give me the boost I am looking for while minimizing burn potential. I love that coco helps buffer and flush things, by nature, that the plant isn't using. I am so stoked that I ended up choosing coco for my 1st grow, but that is another topic for another day! I have edited the diary to reflect the loss of 2 strains and the title to reflect the current reality. Perhaps I should have left them unchanged. I am not sure. However, the diary title and strains are correct at this point. So there it is. I am now attempting to feed all 6 plants every day. There will be some days that I miss, but so far my 10 gallon bucket produces enough runoff on 6 plants if watered daily and most people who end up adopting this late stage strategy often would double/quadruple it if they could spare the time and/or afford the nutes. Once a day seems a good enough way to take advantage of the benefits of the medium without diminishing returns. I wish that I had the type of life that allowed me to set up proper control groups to test this stufff. I have also permanently started emptying the dehumidifier into the nute bucket as it has a PH of around 5.3 (my tap is around 8) and a ppm of around 8 (my ppm varies from 150-200 since i have been monitoring), 1-2 gallons a day to help out. I am loving it as much as PH down with white vinegar. I also obtained a water quality report and found that although my agency adds chlorine, they do not add chloramine so airing the bucket out for 14-16 hours after filling from the tap and cutting it with dehumidifier water should remove any threat to the beneficial living things that I have added to my girlies, so this is good news. 8/31/17 Man, I wish I used stakes from day 1. Every additional stake I put in makes me cringe and more stakes are becoming necessary. I am just lucky they are so healthy.

Day 15 (7/1) - CP is thriving the day after its FIM session. The growth looks good to me..?? I don’t honestly know or have any experience to go off of. It grew a little taller and I was able to adjust the tie on it so more underleaf was exposed. This all took place on day 14. These pictures are the result. I like how much new green I see under after just one night. nothing has been fed to 5he plant other than calmag in water PHed out. I’m watering about every other day. Day 16 (7/2) - The plant seems to be doing well after the FIMing. I adjusted the LST this morning and these are the pictures that I took tonight. I’m seeing a lot of tiny growths all over the place. I’ve kept the plant below or just at around 6 inches this whole time. I have a ScrOG net that I’m waiting to put in to see if the plants are going to get any taller. They are two weeks old and still look pretty small to me. Any feedback would be appreciated. First time growing and I figured I’d go big or go home with the training. Day 17 (7/3) - She is doing very well and is producing new growth daily. And all existing growth seems to be progressing as well. The top of the plant is still around 6 inches due to all the LST and I’m looking forward to seeing if it’s actually going to shoot up. I won’t be able to provide an update tomorrow but I am looking forward to sharing the picture I take Sunday evening on Day 19. Day 20 (7/6) - I spent a few more days away from the grow than originally planned but everything seems to have turned out well. When I got back I gave the plants a nice watering after about two or three days the humidity in the room was a little low so I also refilled the humidifier. I am liking the growth that I’m seeing I’m seeing lots of new growth in the middle and underneath but I’m still not getting the height that I want. I know the height will come with flowering but looking at other grow journals I’ve noticed that most plants are larger than mine at this stage. Tomorrow will be the last day of week three and then of week four. Day 21 (7/7) - Last day of week 3! I’m hoping to see some growth really start happening because I’ve enjoyed watching it grow so far. It wasn’t until today that I had the realization that I was growing in fabric pots so I was actually able to fold over the edges of the pots this entire time. I ended up holding the edges of the pot today and much more of the side of the plant is being hit by the light now. I’m hoping to see some big improvements over this first night with this adjustment. The plant still has not been fed I’ve been in the little bit that was added when it was first planted. I did not give the plants a water today but I will be giving them a drink tomorrow. Tomorrow is the start of week four 🌱

I installed a drip system, which I will use if necessary. It's a new year ahead, so a drip system is needed 😁 We are finishing the last week of vegetation.

Day 50 since seed touched soil. From now on all is in stable position. Joe always will be in left corner, under fan, he was lowest, so it was smart to put him under. Plants dont grow well next to fan. 5 liters went in, want good run off and saturation. Later today will install second level of scrog. Reposition all shoots, some are lost, i almost regret instaling scrog, lost control of even height a bit, but canopy is very dense, branches went fatter during that week, i am happy . Mars TSL2000 is on 80% will increase to 90% at the end of this week. Day 53. Second level of scrog almost eaten, will have to make third, plus heavy clearing awaits next week ... Day 54. Think tomorrow is watering day. Girls need good clearing, bottom canopy been canibalised heavily, lack off air shows a lot. Will do third level of scrog together with watering. Day 55. Watered Joe, he is lowest, but looks nice. Think all deficiencies behind. Made light clearing, only bottom shoots which has 0 chance to make it, took part of LST down. Watering exposed roots - plant is occupying new lair , good sign ;) Happy Growing !!!
