🚂 8×8 Adventure – Week 11 Cash Express – Pheno A Her Own Rhythm, Under A Whole Lot More Light 🌸💡 Hello everyone, and welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure! 🌱💚 And here we are again... Cash Express Pheno A. Another week has passed, and this girl is still doing exactly what she has been doing throughout this journey. Growing. Flowering. Developing. And most importantly... being herself. There hasn't been any dramatic training this week. No major reshaping. No big intervention. No reason to start messing with a plant that is already doing exactly what we want her to do. At this stage of the 8×8 Adventure, we're reaching an interesting point. The plants have been built. The canopies have been established. The major training is behind us. And now... we watch. We provide what they need. We keep the environment stable. We monitor. We make small adjustments when necessary. And then we let the genetics tell the story. Cash Express Pheno A is certainly telling hers. And I really like what she's saying. ──────────────────────── 🌸 Week 11 – Let Her Grow Cash Express continues developing beautifully. She's not one of the plants trying to take over the entire room. She's not racing toward the ceiling. She's simply continuing along her own path, developing her flowering structure and gradually becoming more defined as the weeks pass. And that's exactly what I want to see. At this point in flowering, there really isn't much reason to keep reaching into the canopy simply because we can. The plant has her structure. The flowers are established. The roots are working. The irrigation is consistent. The nutrition is supporting her. The environment is controlled. So our job becomes much simpler. Watch. Observe. Measure. And intervene only when there's actually something worth intervening in. Cash Express doesn't need us to constantly remind her how to grow. She already knows. 😂🌱 ──────────────────────── 🌿 The Plant Is Doing Her Thing One of the things I enjoy most about this stage is watching the plants gradually move from being something we've actively shaped into something we're simply observing. Earlier in the grow, we were thinking about structure. Branch positioning. Canopy management. Light distribution. Training. Space. Now? We're thinking about flowers. Development. Density. Maturity. And the individual expression of each phenotype. Cash Express Pheno A continues to have her own personality. She's growing at her own rhythm. She's developing her own flowering structure. And she's showing us what this particular genetic expression wants to do when given the same environment as eleven other plants. That's the real experiment. Not forcing twelve plants to become identical... but giving twelve plants a comparable opportunity and seeing what they do with it. And Cash Express is making her answer increasingly clear. ──────────────────────── 💡 Two New Future Of Grow Black Series 600W Fixtures Although we haven't been doing much to the plants themselves this week, something important has changed above them. We added two additional Future of Grow Black Series 600W fixtures to the 8×8 setup. And that changed the lighting capability of the room quite dramatically. The additional fixtures gave us considerably more available light. Actually... a little more than I wanted at first. 😂 The PPFD climbed higher than my target, so rather than simply accepting it or running the fixtures unnecessarily hard, we reduced the power. That's where we're currently sitting at approximately: 🔌 59% power from the plug. And at that setting, we're seeing approximately: ☀️ 1,500 PPFD across the upper canopy. Obviously, the exact intensity changes throughout the plant. Cash Express isn't a flat surface. Neither are her sisters. The higher flowers receive more. Lower areas naturally receive less. Different leaves sit at different angles. That's simply how a three-dimensional plant works. But overall... I'm very happy with where we've landed. ──────────────────────── ☀️ More Light, More Control This is one of the things I particularly like about having powerful lighting equipment. More power doesn't mean you have to use all of it. We added the fixtures. We saw what the additional lighting capability did. The PPFD went higher than I wanted. So we turned the power down. Simple. 😂 Now we're getting a very strong light environment while also reducing electricity consumption. We're also not unnecessarily running the fixtures and associated equipment at maximum output when the plants don't require it. That's a win from several directions. We're using the equipment. We're testing it properly. We're learning what it can do. And we're finding the level that makes sense for the plants. That's exactly what I wanted from this experiment. ──────────────────────── 💚 A Big Shout-Out To Future Of Grow I want to give Future of Grow a special mention this week. They provided the two additional Black Series 600W fixtures so we could test them here in the 8×8 Adventure and see what they could actually do in a real flowering environment. And that's exactly what we're doing. Not simply installing them and saying: "Look how much light we have." We're actually testing. Measuring. Adjusting. And observing the plants. We increased the available lighting. The PPFD went higher than my preferred level. So we reduced the power to approximately 59%. Now we're sitting around 1,500 PPFD across the upper canopy, while also saving electricity. And that's something I'm genuinely very happy about. More capability. More control. Less unnecessary power consumption. And a lot of photons available to these girls. Thank you, Future of Grow, for giving us the opportunity to test these additional fixtures and see where they can take the 8×8 Adventure. ──────────────────────── 💡 Cash Express Under The New Lighting And our girl? She's looking happy. That's the important part. The additional lighting hasn't changed her personality. She's still Cash Express. Still developing at her own rhythm. Still building her flowers. Still doing what she has been doing. And that's actually one of the things I enjoy most about this experiment. We can change the environment. We can change the amount of light available. We can make small adjustments to nutrition. But the plant still expresses herself through her genetics. The light provides the energy. The environment provides the opportunity. The plant decides what to do with it. And Cash Express seems perfectly happy with the arrangement. ──────────────────────── ☀️ Around 1,500 PPFD At The Upper Canopy The approximately 1,500 PPFD we're seeing is measured across the upper canopy. It's important to say that because a plant isn't a perfectly level solar panel. 😂 Some flowers are higher. Some are lower. Some leaves are directly exposed. Others are naturally shaded. And that's perfectly normal. The goal isn't to make every single flower receive exactly the same amount of light. The goal is to provide a strong overall light environment while maintaining the conditions that allow the plant to use that light effectively. And that's where the rest of the room comes into the equation. Temperature. Humidity. CO₂. Water. Nutrition. Root health. Leaf health. Everything is connected. The light is only one part of the equation. ──────────────────────── ⚗️ Nutrition – Just A Small Adjustment There has also been a small change to the flowering nutrition this week. Nothing dramatic. We're simply increasing Terra Bloom slightly. Current feeding: • Terra Bloom — 2.3 ml/L • Pure Zym — 1 ml/L • Power Buds — 1 ml/L • Sugar Royal — 1 ml/L • pH Plus — 0.03 ml/L • Lemon Kick — 0.03 ml/L That small increase in Terra Bloom brought the EC up slightly. We're now sitting around: ⚡ EC — 2.14 mS/cm And honestly... that's exactly the kind of adjustment I like. Small. Measured. Purposeful. We're not suddenly changing the entire feeding programme because another week has passed. We're simply making a small progression while the plants continue developing through flowering. Cash Express is healthy. Her colour is good. Her flowers are developing. So we're supporting that development without overcomplicating the equation. ──────────────────────── 💧 Irrigation – Let The System Do Its Job The irrigation remains consistent as well. We're currently around: 💧 1.45 L per plant / 24 hours The solution is around: 🌡️ 25°C with the substrate also around: 🌡️ 25°C And this consistency is particularly important now. The plants are no longer asking us to constantly reshape them. They're asking for consistency. Water. Nutrition. A healthy root environment. Light. And time. The irrigation system is doing its part. The plants are doing theirs. And I'm quite happy to stay out of the way. 😂 ──────────────────────── 🌡️ Week 11 – The Current Environment This week's recorded conditions are approximately: • 🌡️ Day Temperature: 26.5°C • 🌙 Night Temperature: 26°C • 💧 Relative Humidity: 61% • 🥥 Substrate Temperature: 25°C • 💦 Nutrient Solution Temperature: 25°C • ⚗️ pH: 6.02 • ⚡ EC: 2.14 mS/cm • 💨 CO₂: approximately 693 ppm • 💡 Light Schedule: 12/12 • 💧 Irrigation: approximately 1.45 L/plant/24h • ? Pot Size: 15 L The environment remains very consistent across the room. Summer still likes to remind us that absolute precision isn't always possible. But we're keeping the important variables under control. And most importantly... the plants look happy. That's always the final check. Numbers are useful. The plants still get the final vote. ──────────────────────── 🌿 Why We're Not Touching Her Much This is probably worth explaining again. Sometimes people look at a flowering plant and think: "Shouldn't you be doing something?" Maybe. But not necessarily. At this stage, unnecessary intervention can be more trouble than it's worth. The structure is already there. The flowers are established. The plant has healthy foliage. The environment is stable. The irrigation is consistent. The nutrition is supporting her. So what exactly would I gain by constantly reaching into the canopy? Nothing. We're still paying attention. We're still checking every plant. We're still watching the flowers. We're still monitoring the environment. But we're not touching them simply for the sake of touching them. There's a big difference between caring for a plant... and interfering with a plant. Right now? Cash Express needs care. She doesn't need interference. ──────────────────────── 🌸 The Flowers Continue Their Quiet Progress And that's where my attention is going now. The flowers. The developing structure. The increasing definition. The subtle changes from one photograph to the next. She's continuing to move forward. Not explosively. Not dramatically. But consistently. And that's exactly what I want. Flowering is a marathon. Not every week needs to look completely different. Sometimes the biggest changes are only obvious when you compare photographs separated by several weeks. That's why we keep documenting. Because one day we'll look back at Week 11... and realise just how much this plant changed after this point. For now... we're simply watching it happen. ──────────────────────── 📸 The Camera Keeps Finding Her Details Cash Express is another perfect example of why these individual diaries matter. From across the 8×8, she's one plant among twelve. But bring the camera closer... and suddenly there's an entire little world happening. The flowers. The pistils. The leaves. The structure. The way the branches carry their individual sites. The way the light catches different parts of the plant. Those details are what make each phenotype worth documenting separately. And that's exactly what this project was created to do. Twelve plants. Twelve stories. Twelve expressions. Same room. Different personalities. ──────────────────────── Cash Express – Still Writing Her Own Story One thing hasn't changed. Cash Express Pheno A is still doing things her own way. She's not trying to become the tallest plant. She's not trying to dominate the canopy. She's simply progressing. And I think that's something worth respecting. We can provide an environment. We can provide excellent equipment. We can provide nutrition. We can provide light. But genetics will always have something to say. And Cash Express has been speaking pretty clearly since the beginning. This is her rhythm. This is her structure. This is her expression. And we're simply giving her the opportunity to show it. ──────────────────────── 🔬 The 8×8 Experiment Gets Even More Interesting The addition of the two new Future of Grow fixtures makes this part of the project particularly interesting. Because now we're not only watching twelve different genetics under the same environment... we're also testing what happens when we significantly increase the lighting capability of the room. The plants have the same general treatment. The same tent. The same irrigation system. The same nutrient strategy. The same environmental management. And now... a much stronger lighting setup. But we're still controlling it. We're not simply maxing everything out. We're finding the level that makes sense. And at approximately 59% power and around 1,500 PPFD at the upper canopy... I'm very happy with the direction we're taking. Now we watch. ──────────────────────── 💡 Better Use Of Light, Not Simply More Light This is an important distinction. The goal isn't: "More watts." The goal is: "Useful photons." There's a difference. If the plant can't use the additional light efficiently because the rest of the environment isn't supporting it, then simply increasing intensity doesn't automatically improve the result. That's why I'm much happier running these fixtures at a controlled output. We have the capability. We have the headroom. We have the control. And we're using the equipment in a way that makes sense for the plants and for the room. That's the experiment. And Cash Express is right there in the middle of it. ──────────────────────── 🔮 Looking Ahead From here, we're keeping things relatively simple. We're going to continue watching the flowers. Continue monitoring the environment. Continue providing consistent irrigation. Continue with the flowering nutrition. Continue watching how the plants respond to the new lighting setup. And most importantly... we're going to let them be plants. No unnecessary training. No unnecessary manipulation. No trying to force Cash Express to become something she's not. The big structural work is behind us. Now we're entering the part where patience becomes one of the most important tools in the grower's toolbox. And I'm perfectly happy to use it. ──────────────────────── 🚂 Final Thoughts – Let Cash Express Shine There are weeks where the grower does a lot. And there are weeks where the grower does very little... but observes a lot. This is one of those weeks. We installed two additional Future of Grow Black Series 600W fixtures. We adjusted their output. We brought the power down to approximately 59%. We found ourselves around 1,500 PPFD across the upper canopy. We made a small increase in Terra Bloom. The EC moved slightly higher to around 2.14 mS/cm. And then... we stepped back. Because Cash Express Pheno A doesn't need us to constantly interfere with her. She's growing. She's flowering. She's developing. She's doing her thing. And honestly? She's doing it beautifully. The equipment is there. The photons are there. The water is there. The nutrition is there. The environment is there. Now the plant gets to decide what to do with all of it. And that's my favourite part. Because eventually... the genetics always get the final word. So keep doing your thing, Cash Express. Keep growing at your rhythm. Keep developing those flowers. Keep showing us what you can become. We're watching.
