The Bubble OG plants are doing really well. It's crazy because they all started out looking so similar, but now they're totally different. I tried that new training technique on them, but I think I went a little too far. The leaves look a bit fried, so I'll have to be more careful. The new year is off to a frosty start! We've had snow falling for what feels like forever. My kids are loving it, of course. They're building forts, having snowball fights, and turning everything into a winter wonderland. It's been a lot of fun to watch them enjoy it. All this snow is really making me think about how quickly time flies. It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating the holidays, and now here we are knee-deep in winter. I'm looking forward to warmer weather, but for now, I'm enjoying the quiet beauty of fresh snow.

Burned tips on clones too... Lot of plain rain water for everyone! Anyway, buds look great : they're long and get fatter. I tried a wet sample in vaporizer yesterday : it tasted bad but it was potent enough to put a smile on my face... 😋 So I removed a few popcorn buds and put them to dry : it's covered with trichromes and it smells good. I'll vaporize this dry sample later, no doubt it'll taste better.

Week 4 of flowering 10/9/24 Defoliated plants. Watering 4 times a day (with 10%-20% runoff) hand watering to full saturation of the media with 20% runoff at the end of the week. Checking runoff EC every 3 days. Lights now at max height and 90% power. Cheap AliExpress exhaust fan timer broke. Humidity rose up to 99% inside the grow tent, but fans kept circulating the air. After noticing, immediately turned on the dehumidifier to 40% RH with extra fan pointing on the canopy to max. hopefully no herm problems and mold issues. Adding 2.5ml/gal of H2O2 (35%) to the reservoir to keep bacteria away.

Day 8 Flower (Day 50) The first day of the second week of flower and the strech is real. The right girl is getting pretty damn big and keeps on drinking a lot. I gave her another 3 liters of pH 6.4 water today. On the other hand, the left girl drinks hardly anything, so I didn't need to water her. I also did some lollipopping today and got rid of a whole bunch of undergrowth. I saved some clones off the big girl but no clue what to do with them. We'll see what happens. Day 9 Flower (Day 51) Chill day today. All I did was to give each girl 3 liters of pH 6.5 water and snap a few pics. Day 10 Flower (Day 52) Today I finally got around to re-organize the small tent to move the light as high up as possible to give the canopy some additional space. I moved the exhaust fan to outside the tent, so it was out of the way for the light, and then put the circulation fan below the canopy, blowing upward. Finally, I adjusted the light so it was reading about 900 PPFD in the center of the canopy. The left girl didn't need any water today, but the right girl got 3 liters of pH 6.2 water. Day 11 Flower (Day 53) They're back! The fungus gnats are back in the tent, although I'm not surprised, and let me tell you why. When the light for my tomatoes and peppers broke down, I had to move them so that they get some daylight. It is still cold here (the coldest May around these parts ever, I think), so they have to stay inside even though they usually would have moved outside long ago. The best place to keep them in my apartment is by the window in the same room as my grow tents. The last time I had gnats, I only had enough nematodes to treat my girls, but I didn't do the rest of the apartment even though I should have. So currently, my peppers and tomatoes all have a ton of gnats. Put plants with gnats in the same room as your grow, and it is only a matter of time before the gnats find their way into the tents. So yeah, it wasn't a surprise at all when I noticed the gnats in my tents some days ago. I put up some yellow sticky traps to deal with the adults and ordered more nematodes, enough to treat my girls, plus all other plants in my entire apartment. Twice. The nematodes arrived today, and I mixed up 10 million of them into 6 liters of water and gave each girl half at pH 6.5. That was it for today. Day 12 Flower (Day 54) Exhausting day today. I opened the tents, took pics, closed the tents. Phew! I think I need to lay down for a bit. Day 13 Flower (Day 55) Late last night I decided to supercrop the right girl to slow her down and get the canopy to even out. We're almost at the end of the second week of flower so this is the last training I will do besides some defoliation later on. I think I cropped around 10 branches or so. Today, most of the branches were already standing up again and she was VERY thirsty so I gave her 4.5 liters of pH 6.4 water. The left girl on the other hand didn't need any water. Day 14 Flower (Day 56) The last day of the second week of flower and the right girl is in flower. Early yet so still small and no smell, but they are there. The left girl is in flower as well but isn't as far along, but that isn't unexpected considering the different lights. The left girl is 68 cm tall (18 cm increase in a week), and the right girl is 100 cm tall (23 cm increase in a week) but would have been even taller without super-cropping. I gave each girl three liters of pH 6.3 water and removed the tape from the right girl's broken branch. She looks fully healed, so I removed the supports as well, and she was looking great. However, thinking about it for a second, I put back one of the supports, just in case.

Day 83 - 03/06/23 - Harvested Northern Lights #1

First week of florwering is over. They all already show pistills so induction was successful. I did a little defoliation to uncover bud sites and LST-d Strawberry Cough since it was much higher than the rest of the ladies. Now I do have even-ish canopy. CA$H and Mimozz are going superb. Cough is okay, not great, not bad. Grandpa's Cookies is a runt but I'll try to have at least some weed from this one also 💪

Middle 2 plants stretched a lot week 3 of flower. They were growing slower in veg so I flipped to flower as soon as their canopy reached the net (barely LST these 2 plants with the net given their slower growth). Then week 2-3 of flower they took off. Did some defoliating to expose bud sites further down with the intent to increase yeilds.

Day 64: Started flushing the girls today. Got All milky and starting to go amber. Day 65: Still flushing. The girls smell amazing. I have one in the bunch that is SUPER airy and I am just not sure what is going on with her. It's the girl that I accidently broke off the main cola a while back. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Day 66: No new updates. Cut one of the colas off for a taste test and trial run on drying as this is my first go. Figure if I can dry this super dense beauty with no issue, I will be able to dry the rest. Have it hung up in the spare bathroom. Stays roughly 71° in our house and I'd say roughly 40%ish humidity. Day 67: Girls are smelling really nice! I keep looking at trich's and looks like no change. They are all cloudy and only a few amber from what I see. Still new to it so no tellin! Day 68: No updates. Day 69: Girls still looking good. My bud is still drying and looking super hideous. I feel it is drying slow enough but sure doesn't look or feel dense as it did when cut. Will know in several days to come when fully dry. Day 70: Girls smell dank and look the same! No new updates at this time.

Quick Summary: moved and transplanted around day 18 into 5 gal. airpots with fresh ocean forrest, flowering began around day 24, thought I maybe had some nutrient burn, more likely cause is phosphorous and/or cal/mag deficiencies, three plants in the home stretch, O has a bit longer Day 50 Update: Watered and took some pictures last night. Not much new. Pretty sure they have massive deficiencies instead of any burn. I may chronically underwater/underfeed my plants. I'm still learning. This is my fourth grow ever so there's still lots to learn. Day 51 Update: Meant to water today but didn't. Day 52 Update: I spent a while with each plant and took some pictures/video when plant O was out of the tent. You can see some pretty clear brown spots on a fair bit of the shorter two plants. S is all kinds of ugly, but who knows, maybe still put out a decent weight. I fed twice in a row now and added some CaliMagic (forget the company name) this time. I read about how when there are stronger lights or MORE lights, the plants can burn through phosphorous rapidly, so maybe that's the issue I had. Either way, about day 40 seems like when the nutrients can be more steadily increased. The shorter two, V and P, have about 2ish weeks so that will likely be their last feeding. S too probably. O, on the other hand, has several weeks left but is looking otherwise really solid. Hopefully I got enough nutrients in early enough in that plant's flowering that it won't show any deficiencies. It's a monster too! 38 inches to the top of the spire. The other three are 25, 21, and 19 inches still so likely their final heights. I kept the tallest as the plant height for the diary because the top end is good to know for other indoor growers. Day 53 Update: No news. Day 54 Update: No news. Day 55 Update: S, V, and P are the three shorter plants. They are all starting to take water a bit slower. They didn’t *need* water tonight, so I’ll give them another day. O, on the other hand, is a monster! Probably needed water yesterday. Filtered tap, about 2 gal for O tonight. Food next time for O also. Others are in the wind-down so we’ll see. Es que Zambeza hizo un gran trabajo con esta variedad, es una cepa que es bastante rápida en floración, crece muy bien en su etapa de crecimiento, y sobretodo es aparte de típica, muy sencilla de cultivar. De mis favoritas hasta ahora para indoor, como siempre, controlamos el ph y la humedad (siempre dentro de los parámetros correctos establecidos).
