Adding Mephisto Sour Hound to my tent of autos. Really excited about growing some Mephisto Genetics, been hearing amazing things about Mehphisto (I also have a Alien vs Triangle going in a separate diary). This is a free seed I received with my order from Seedsman last fall (BTW Seedsman ROCKS!). This first seed failed to pop so I planted a second and that one popped in 4 days!. My Perpetual Harvest strategy…. Originally my plan was to start 2 seeds each month, but had some seeds from one breeder that did not germinate early in my rotation. Ultimately, this caused single seeds to pop and messed up my 2 at a time plans. But, that seemed to work out OK, because now I think starting one seed every 3 weeks is a better strategy. This should provide me with 4-5 plants at a time, instead of 6. However… Since I need to shut down over the summer because my tent is currently in the attic, I’m starting 2-3 seeds at at time for the last couple of rounds. Plants get fed once weekly on weekends. Seedlings get water only. Plants in vegetation get water and Recharge. Flowering plants get water, Recharge or Big Bloom (Fox Farm). Feeding is done using 2 gallon watering can. Any additional waterings during the week are given on an as needed basis per plant. I lift the plants to help determine which plants are more dry (lighter) and provide water any plants via water bottles and watering spikes. I give each pot a quarter turn every day in an effort to make sure the plants get equal lighting from all sides. I rotate the plant in place by turning the pot 90 degrees (I am not rearranging the layout of the plants in the tent on a daily basis). The soil is an ‘organic super soil’ I mixed myself using organic top soil, organic potting soil, organic compost, organic peat moss, organic perlite, organic vermiculite, lime, epsom salt, expanded clay pellets and Jobe’s organic fast start. I am also recycling my soil and water with Recharge when using recycled soil. For plant training I have tried a variety of things, but my plans now are to do LST bending only, no HST anymore. I may decide to go back to HST again in the future, but I’m curious to compare LST training only to see how that goes. Around week 3 I'll do a FIM pinch once there are 4-5 nodes established. And some defoliation around the 3rd week of flowering. I have been doing HST bending and having good results, but think the HST may be causing the plants to take longer to harvest. I hope FIM/defoliation only will help increase harvests while getting me to harvest sooner. Setup: 1- Grow Tent 24”x48”x72” 2- Viparspectra 300W LED’s (1-V300 & 1-R300) 1- Hanging 100w CFL (26w actual) 1- Carbon Filter w/ 190cfm Fan & 4” ducts 1- 6” clip-on fan 1- 700w electric heater - oil filled radiator (in front of air intake behind tent)

FastBuds - Forbidden Runtz Showdown We started another grow. This time we are going to start off with 2 sets of two auto's, after which we will start in three regulars right away. So we will double use the 18-hour schedule and try to save power that way. In addition to this challenge, we are going to do a Runtz Showdown between two respected breeders with comparable strains. Her opponent will be... drumroll: the Runtz XL Auto by Sweetseeds. Let's see where this will bring us. We did some witchcraft since we sowed the seeds by moonlight, on Imbolc; the pagan day of celebrating Bridget, the Goddess of Spring, we dedicate this grow to her. We asked for abundance and health, love and happiness and put the seeds in the ground. The Soil Of course, we started in our trusty organic super soil or living soil, I will include the recipe again for anyone wanting to emulate it. The Light And to help us again to hopefully get way over 600 grams this grow with the total grow of autos and regulars, the SP 300 by Mars Hydro will be helping us out again! The Genetics Fastbuds Forbidden Runtz Taste: Earthy, Fruits, Sweet THC: Up to 26% CBD: < 1% Harvest EU Indoor: 450 – 550 gr/m2 Harvest US Indoor: 1.5 – 1.8 oz/ft2 Harvest EU Outdoor: 50 – 150 gr/plant Harvest US Outdoor: 2 – 5 oz/plant Size: XXL Height: 90 – 130 cm Height US: 35 – 51 inches Flowering: 9 weeks Room: Indoor/Outdoor Gender: Feminized Genes: Sativa 35%/Indica 65% Genetics: Forbidden Runtz Auto Autoflowering: Yes Thank you for checking out our new grow and for following! Big Hug Biobuds and Sunshine.

So, I've switched to blooming after all. So far so good, except for the fact that I broke my lab PH meter, which is quite expensive. There is also a lot of humidity. In between when the AC is not running, the humidity goes up to 80%, which is no joke at all. I will either buy a dehumidifier or turn on the air conditioner for 24 hours. I don't know what to choose yet, the dehumidifier consumes a lot of electricity, maybe I should just leave the AC on for 24 hours. Yeah, growing in hot countries is not a good idea ^_^.

31 Aug. I start the third week of my autoflower. The plant is growing well, but I noticed small yellow spots on the leaf tips, which seem like a mild calcium deficiency. This is probably due to the fact that so far I have been giving water with a slightly low pH, around 6, while the ideal range would be 6.5–7. At the beginning, to lower the ppm of the tap water (which was around 211 ppm), I mixed it with demineralized water. This brought the ppm down to about 109–140, making it harder for the plant to absorb the available calcium. Additionally, the soil I am using, Biobizz Light Mix, is lightly fertilized but does not contain enough calcium to correct this small initial deficiency. For this week, I will not add any fertilizers. I simply want to raise the pH to 6.5 and use water with higher ppm, so the plant can better absorb the nutrients already present in the soil. The lamp is positioned about 35–36 cm from the plant and so far there are no burn issues. Temperatures range between 25 and 30 °C depending on the day, while humidity in the room stays between 40–60%. The humidifier is always on because I keep the window open, but the dehumidifier is not being used, as it is not necessary at the moment. I also have a new oscillating fan arriving to replace the current fixed one, and I’m waiting for a regulable extractor (90–145 m³/h), which will allow me to control the air perfectly during winter if needed. This week my main goals are: Increase the water ppm without overdoing it Adjust the pH to 6.5 Keep observing the plant without adding any fertilizers Everything else seems fine and growth is regular. With these corrections, I expect the new leaves to grow healthy and free of spots. ==UPDATE 31/08== To control the calcium deficiency, I will administer an eggshell solution until I reach 300 ppm (I will boil some eggshells and administer the solution in tap water).

One of the plants has a slight pie dough smell, but still very minimal smell when I open the tent. EDIT: the smell is actually making it passed my carbon filter, and I am not sure why it is only 1 of the 2 plants giving off the heavy smell as well. The chunkier/darker colour one is the one that smells real heavy, smells really creamy/doughy. UV/IR has been on for the past few weeks, and will stay on until the end. The plants have gone through a bunch of issues so far, and are still going strong. Gave a tablespoon of power bloom to each, on day 31.
