We have made it to day 42! 31/12/20 All the girls have started flowering now! I'm super keen to see them start to thicken up. Feeding as usual, nothings changed. Update - day 46 04/01/21 I'm a little concerned about the 2 runts that were laggin behind the rest, all of a sudden theyve decided they want to take up most of the room in the tent. I've never grown autos so big.. I was contemplating putting the runts outside but it's just going to make more problems as my outdoors are under attack from some kind of bug. I will keep the diary updated on the runts, other than that the other girls are doing just great, flowering is really coming along. Thanks for stopping by!

Nothing to exciting this week, plants are doing well. Little bit of stretching going on and starting to smell more and more now. The newer growth is a bit lighter in shades of green then the old stuff. I think this is from me dividing the flowering nutrients into 4 weeks vs all at once as they tend to get a bit of N tox when I give it all at once so this seems to be doing better. Clones are same old, just waiting for the weather to get nice. Found out that when I use Insect Frass as a fertilizer it's also adding in chitin "a protein found in bugs, crustaceans and fungi" to the soil, when that stuff breaks down it makes chitosan and that can help boost defences against pests and virus in the plant. There are plant additives out their that are pure chitosan in varying concentrations and they use this to make the buds extra frosty. To much can harm the plant though. I also found out I needed to water them a bit more then normal not that the stretch is happening. so they got 6L this week each vs the regular 4L but it was split up in 3 days. In the first bit they got all the additives i normally do and the other bit was just PH'd water, didn't want to over load em. Big shoutout to Medic Grow for sponsoring the lighting in my tent, They have provided me with 2x Mini Sun 2's in the 240w configuration, They use the v1 growing spectrum that is a all purpose seed to harvest spectrum so their is no hassle of switching it mid grow.

- Day 72 Already 10 weeks old at his point whew. She seems to be drinking less now as she is starting to near the end of her life. Haven't checked trichomes today yet, as I took some the other day and most were still clear or milky so will check again in a day or two. Will be starting to lower the amount of water and nutes I give in the next few waterings before harvest. Looking forward to this one! Will be my first experience with smoking my own plant that contains more than 0.5% thc. 😍 Day 73 I increased the height of the light a bit as I feel like quite a few of the leaves are starting too look really crunchy and I want to avoid fox tailing from happening. Not 100% sure, but I think your meant to decrease light intensity towards the end of the grow? I checked trichomes again and definitely still seeing a lot of clear ones, but I've noticed quite a few more amber ones already too. Day 74 Gave another water today. 1.3L (6.3ph) with some bio-bloom, top-max, bio-heaven and acti-vera. Day 75 Most of the fan leaves are starting to show that plant is really at the end of life now, crispy and yellow. The smell coming of the plant is strong now, having a hard time keeping it stealthy like this 😅. I hope those trichomes get ready soon, so that I can chop. Day 76 Checking those trichomes again, still seeing a lot of clear ones, more amber showing up though....but we shall wait a bit longer for now. Day 77 Gave her another watering today, 1.5L (6.3ph), she is still drinking quite a bit by the looks of it as the pot was very light, was expecting it to take a bit longer as she is nearing end of life, but she still slurping it all up. By the looks of the trichomes it looks like she still needs a bit more time, I'm starting to see some trichomes amber up slowly, but I'm also still seeing quite a few clear ones.

Buenos humos 🚬

Week 9 marks a turning point for the grow. The main plants are deep into flower now, with dense buds that glisten under the HPS light. Their smell is intoxicating, filling the room with the rich, sweet aroma that hints at the potency to come. Even the late bloomer has stepped up its game. While it’s still behind the others, it’s finally entering full flower, its smaller buds beginning to form. It’s got a unique charm, and I can’t help but root for it—sometimes the underdog ends up stealing the show. The grow room feels like it’s nearing its peak. The plants are massive now, with thick branches bending under the weight of their buds. Every day brings new changes, and I can see the finish line getting closer. The hard work is paying off, and I can’t wait to see how these beauties turn out in the final weeks.

Here we are at the halfway point, after the first month our photoperiod plants are multiplying their florets and then going into flowering. The Purple Urkle has just undergone the topping of 8 florets, you can see the 4 fresh florets just cut. So we are at 8 very small branches growing my program for photoperiodic plants is to get to 16 wait a few days and move on to flowering. 16 Tops as I see it is the perfect size for the 11 liter pot. You are going strong from the beginning there was a bit of a shortage but as I explain this week during the topping everything changes. We are in competitive days, the world lives the competition in a lively way and so if someone were to ask me or were interested which is the best of the photoperiodic plants I have inside for now I would say the Purple Urkle. Topping is an extremely delicate moment as regards cutting the tops to split them, we always take care not to damage the new branches in growth. Topping is also a delicate moment as regards fertilization because the plant slows down and absolutely does not need all that nitrogen that it would normally need and that the producers recommend in their sheets. So you should arrive with the plant green and perfectly fit at this point and dose the fertilizer very well for growth. Mine came from a slightly deficient veg because I kept it low fearing this over effect during the topping that I know well and now they are a bit over. Nothing to worry about, of course, but if you do repeated topping my advice is to use preferred soil or prepare the soil with Monster Bud Mix by Zamnesia or Plagron Super Mix, in short, enrich the soil and from the start and add nitrogen only if necessary, especially during repeated topping. In any case, everything is under control and I will demonstrate it to you during the flowering phase. Wait for the Uncle BreadandBuds and see what he does. Remember the cold temperature makes the girls absorb food much more slowly than in summer so be careful to give the right amount and to dry the plant in maximum 2 days or you risk imbalances. We are still using soil, feeding and all the recommended additives from Plagron 100& organic we just lowered the amount of grow in this topping phase for the reasons above. ---- Decide on the right soil and calculate your fertilizer schedule according to the soil on the official website. -- www.plagron.com Try a seed of this strain that drives us crazy.. ---- https://www.zamnesia.io/en/11168-zamnesia-seeds-purple-urkle.html Zamnesia Description // A direct descendant of a Mendocino Purps phenotype, Purple Urkle is a high-performance cultivar from Zamnesia Seeds. This feminized, indica-dominant strain is sure to win over any cannabis grower. With a THC content of 20%, Purple Urkle has a lot to offer from seed to harvest and beyond. A grape-flavored adventure, Suitable for indoors, outdoors or in the greenhouse, Purple Urkle is a very resilient strain. Growers will be impressed by how easy this cultivar can be managed. Purple Urkle can reach 120cm indoors and 160cm outdoors, but if you want more control over the height you can use the LST technique. Purple Urkle has fantastic flavors and aromas that intensify during the flowering phase. Regardless of the method of consumption, Purple Urkle offers tangy, fruity flavors that lean towards notes of grapes, berries and plums. The effects of this strain are soothing and relaxing, with uplifting sensations that make the experience suitable for any occasion, whether in a social setting or alone. Second week I did a mild pruning taking off big fan leaves, so that I can allow more light to the canopy. The girls took well and bounce back, still dancing.

Easy strain to grow, it is true to it's name and grows some big buds. You will need to tie them up or use a trellis to keep them from dropping. Overall I am satisfied with my results with over 2 ounces per plant.

Day 57 The leaves are a deep, rich green, indicating good nutrient health. There's minimal sign of deficiency or stress; only very slight tip burn on a few leaves, which could be from nutrient intensity or light exposure but nothing concerning. The plant structure is compact and bushy, suggesting effective training earlier in the grow (possibly some LST or topping). The growing environment looks clean and well-maintained - reflective walls help maximize light efficiency, and there's a good airflow setup visible in the background. The pot and tray system seem to be managing runoff effectively.

Ummm... get Advanced Nutrients. The amazing difference is differently amazing. I can't say anything bad about GHE, it's just insanely better than over here on the Advanced Nutrient side of things. Noticeable differences in 3 days. If you have any questions, send me a message. I've done a ton of research on Advanced Nutrients and can basically tell you "what's what" in comparison to GHE and save you a couple bucks. Knowledge is power, friends! I'm still using my GHE Diamond Nectar in-place of Advanced Nutrients Rhino Skin until the bottle is gone. It's all humic acid, no big deal. I'll change to AN when I'm done. My buds are purple. Never in a million years would I have guessed I got purple genetics on my first grow. We'll see if they stay around! Defoliation: Only larger fan leaves to open canopy. Day 46 - 8/12: We had a huge storm that did not knock our power out, luckily. All of the girls are thriving and tomorrow I receive the remaining nutrients. They are going fucking bananas. Temps are 77s and humidity is 45-55. Perfect. Day 47 - 8/13: Holy fuck.

Day 8 Flower (Day 50) The first day of the second week of flower and the strech is real. The right girl is getting pretty damn big and keeps on drinking a lot. I gave her another 3 liters of pH 6.4 water today. On the other hand, the left girl drinks hardly anything, so I didn't need to water her. I also did some lollipopping today and got rid of a whole bunch of undergrowth. I saved some clones off the big girl but no clue what to do with them. We'll see what happens. Day 9 Flower (Day 51) Chill day today. All I did was to give each girl 3 liters of pH 6.5 water and snap a few pics. Day 10 Flower (Day 52) Today I finally got around to re-organize the small tent to move the light as high up as possible to give the canopy some additional space. I moved the exhaust fan to outside the tent, so it was out of the way for the light, and then put the circulation fan below the canopy, blowing upward. Finally, I adjusted the light so it was reading about 900 PPFD in the center of the canopy. The left girl didn't need any water today, but the right girl got 3 liters of pH 6.2 water. Day 11 Flower (Day 53) They're back! The fungus gnats are back in the tent, although I'm not surprised, and let me tell you why. When the light for my tomatoes and peppers broke down, I had to move them so that they get some daylight. It is still cold here (the coldest May around these parts ever, I think), so they have to stay inside even though they usually would have moved outside long ago. The best place to keep them in my apartment is by the window in the same room as my grow tents. The last time I had gnats, I only had enough nematodes to treat my girls, but I didn't do the rest of the apartment even though I should have. So currently, my peppers and tomatoes all have a ton of gnats. Put plants with gnats in the same room as your grow, and it is only a matter of time before the gnats find their way into the tents. So yeah, it wasn't a surprise at all when I noticed the gnats in my tents some days ago. I put up some yellow sticky traps to deal with the adults and ordered more nematodes, enough to treat my girls, plus all other plants in my entire apartment. Twice. The nematodes arrived today, and I mixed up 10 million of them into 6 liters of water and gave each girl half at pH 6.5. That was it for today. Day 12 Flower (Day 54) Exhausting day today. I opened the tents, took pics, closed the tents. Phew! I think I need to lay down for a bit. Day 13 Flower (Day 55) Late last night I decided to supercrop the right girl to slow her down and get the canopy to even out. We're almost at the end of the second week of flower so this is the last training I will do besides some defoliation later on. I think I cropped around 10 branches or so. Today, most of the branches were already standing up again and she was VERY thirsty so I gave her 4.5 liters of pH 6.4 water. The left girl on the other hand didn't need any water. Day 14 Flower (Day 56) The last day of the second week of flower and the right girl is in flower. Early yet so still small and no smell, but they are there. The left girl is in flower as well but isn't as far along, but that isn't unexpected considering the different lights. The left girl is 68 cm tall (18 cm increase in a week), and the right girl is 100 cm tall (23 cm increase in a week) but would have been even taller without super-cropping. I gave each girl three liters of pH 6.3 water and removed the tape from the right girl's broken branch. She looks fully healed, so I removed the supports as well, and she was looking great. However, thinking about it for a second, I put back one of the supports, just in case.

Slight defoliation this week. These plants are absolutely breathtaking. However, these will be low yield plants. I normally yield an average of a qp on my auto flowers, I look for these to be around 2 ounces per plant. Maybe. I normally grow in coco loco by Bush doctor. This grow is in FFOF. But i also went to 5 gallon pots this time, usually i run 3 gallon. This leads me to believe for sure. That this is genetic. Looking forward to the finished product here however, as this looks amazing, and smells like candy.
