2/20/22 I think I have everything dialed in for the most part. Trying to make sure this living soil is staying wet without water the plants too much. Think I need to up it a little, soil in certain areas is drying out much faster than others due to the light mostly. Lowered my light to 18" I felt deep down, maybe 5-6inches, the soil was dusty dusty dry. I am now actually watering half a gallon to each container around the outside with my garden sprayer. I make sure to get the top inch wet with a mist and then glob some water in there w/o sprayer nozzle 💦💦💦 2/21/22 noticed curling on bottom leaves. Did not change anything 2/22/22 noticing more curling, the beginnings of curling maybe on the second set of leaves 😕? I dropped the fan from speed 5 to speed 2 to hopefully raise the humidity. It's working and is now at a comfortable 57%. Not ideal but much better than 42% for veg 😅 2/23/22 noticing curling on all 4 plants on both the first true leaf sets and second (1 leaf and 3 leaves ea). I moved the light to 24", which is 33% further away and according to my $40 lumen meter, about a 28% reduction in visible light FWIW. Finally put up a little oscillating fan setup on a rudimentary iPad music-stand mount. It's loud as hell, need to look into a quieter fan lol 😆

Well sliding into another week, I'm checking the trichomes and waiting for them to go milky, not sure if i can just check leaves for that. That's what i have been doing. I've been told i'm waiting for a portion of at least half of the hairs to go an orange/bronze color. Weird blotches become more prominent on leaves that its visible (they are just in some leaves) less than half id say around 15 - 20% and less than half of those seem pretty bad. I would like to know the cause if its nutrient lockout or a disease etc. Or perhaps its normal for late stage flowering i do not know

2/10: I watered today with about 3/4 gallon each, plus cal-mag, signal, bembe, armor si, a little open sesame, and their final dose of endoboost. The shorter one is budding up quickly now. 2/11: Wife home sick today....postponing construction project to raise the lights. 2/12: Today, I tackled the project to raise my ceiling another foot. In addition to that project, I installed and hooked up my new AC Infinity 6" intake fan. It's pulling in fresh air from the soffit vent on the eave of the attic, and currently feeding the garden with 46f fresh air. I'm able to easily maintain daytime temps in the lower 70f's now. I am able to drive the nighttime temps as low as I want. The only issue is that the outdoor RH varies quite a bit, so I ordered a 30-pint dehumidifier to put in the top of the closet. I sprayed everybody with boomboom spray to try and mitigate the light burn damage that is likely to ensue. 2/13: The taller one is still stretching a little bit, but the 2-footer is just budding up. 2/14: I fed them today with about 3/4 gallon each including grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom, cal-mag, signal, bembe, humic acid, and I switched over from Open Sesame to Beastie Bloomz. Raised the lights another couple of inches. I did some training on them and defo'd a little bit. 2/15: Installed the new dehumidifier and rigged the continuous drain on it...works great. 2/16: I rotated the edge plants and removed some old leaves. I added another 22w 3000k 4' bar light under the canopy. 2/17: I rearranged the garden and defoliated a little bit. That's it for week 8-

This week i start turn on dehumidifier to bring humidity 65% to 50-60%

The bigger one does not stop growing taller and taller... She's now about 80cm. I hope she is as eager with growing her bud : Those still seem a little smaller than these from my one week older one... Still strange that the taller one is looking rather yellow than green or purple... but they both look very healthy at the end of week 8.

Been battling caterpillars & powdery mildew , gave them both a spray over night with some Lost Coast Therapy for the mildew & I will be spraying in another day or two with Monterey BT for the caterpillars, a lot of the mildew disappeared, about two more applications it should be totally gone. This will literally be my last major outside grow

Let’s dive into all the details and talk about the key elements shaping this transition. 48 Hours Dark Period & Transition to Flower Before flipping to flower, we implemented a 48-hour dark period. In my experience, this technique helps the plants transition more smoothly and accelerates their hormonal shift into flowering. It’s a method that has consistently worked well for me, and I encourage growers to explore different approaches to find what best suits their setup. The Power of Reds - Far Red & Deep Red As part of this transition, we have introduced far red and deep red lighting. These are turned on 15 minutes before the main whites and stay on for 15 minutes after. The reason? This simulates the natural sunrise and sunset effect, which helps optimize the flowering response and enhances overall plant development. The red spectrum plays a crucial role in promoting stretch and enhancing bud formation early on. Light Schedule - 11/13 Cycle From the start of flower, we are running an 11 hours light / 13 hours dark schedule. Over the years, I’ve found this lighting strategy beneficial in inducing faster flower onset, increasing terpene production, and ultimately producing better-quality fruits. This is something I personally swear by, but as always, I encourage others to experiment and see what works best for their unique environments. Spending Time with the Girls One of my favorite parts of the grow is spending time with the plants, enjoying some good medicine, and simply being present in the garden. The connection we have with our plants is invaluable, and I believe they truly respond to the energy we bring. It’s a labor of love, and every moment spent with them contributes to their health and vitality.
