My first Grow!
Super excited for my first grow! Introducing to you soon I hope Dwarfy, Strawby and Bany!
Feb 11 - Day 1 :
Paper towel Germination in sealed containers
Feb 14 - Day 3:
I should have transplanted the germination as it had already emerged from its seed in the paper towel, but I couldn't do so that day.
Feb 15 - Day 4:
Transplanted Strawby and Purpy's germinated seeds directly into 20L pots. I read that it was best to immediately transplant them into their final pots to avoid stress on auto-flowering plants, which can cause them to flower prematurely.
Unfortunately, the Monster Dwarf didn't germinate, which is disappointing, but I still transplanted it into a smaller pot (1L) just in case it decides to give it a try.
I added 2x150ml of Zamnesia Monster Bud mix to 50L of Pro-mix substrate for a total of four pots, as I'm planning on germinating a seed of Jamaican Dream this week.
The first watering was done with water having a pH of 7.3, which is not ideal. However, I have ordered some pH adjustment products to lower it for the next watering.
Feb 16 - Day 5 :
Noticed one of my seedlings was a bit stressed by the light and realized It was on 100% instead of 40% for germination. So I dimmed the lamp and raised it to 70cm.
Watered the plants and added 1ml of Bionova Stimulator XL.
Feb 18 - Day 7 :
Finally added some heat. Heat now at 24°C in the tent with a temperature control thermostat set. Also added a dehumidifier, humidity is now a 50% and corrected the water PH to 6.5. Time to grow!!
I also watered my plants and introduced them to the rest of their nutrients. Will detail whenever I get to motivation to write everything down.
Feb 19 - Day 9:
Looking good. Started some low-stress training. Dwarfy is officially dead but Zamnesia customer service got me covered with a new one for free. Watered almost every day.
Feb 25th - Day 15 :
All looking good, watered slightly daily during the week. But today is a bit tricky as I'm out of town for 4 days... I bought a watering system that litterally broke down 10' before I was planning on leaving. I'm so stressed not being able to keep an eye on them especially so early in the grow.. 4 days should be fine from what I'm reading online, I watered thoroughly till the lower recipients were filled and off I was. Will update on the 29th.
Feb 29th - Day 19 : Finally just got back!! My babies looking healthy. I installed the watering system 250ml per pot for the small pots and 500ml for the 20gal pots every two hours. Will see if it'a good setting tomorrow.
March 13th - Day 32 : Topped a second time and introduced them to 1.5ml CAL-MAG for the first time and will keep feeding until term. One of the leafs has some spots that appeared overnight, I'm figuring if it's correlated to the cal mag and it's just adjusting itself or if it's something more serious. I also topped both a second time
Match 14th - Day 33 : Figured out the problem of the leaves I think.. Possibly related to the PH that I miscalculated as It changed over the day.
March 22nd - Day 41 : Just got back and noticed a few things wrong. 1, my leaves still have a weird color, still think it was the PH but they should turn greener by then since I changed it a week ago.. Idk. Changed the water as it was rotten a bit by the nutrients that were stagnating in the 80L container. Was supposed to get a pump and bubbler but still didn't arrive. Leaving for a week we'll see how it goes.
Broke a branch like a dumbass so I tried to clone it but doubt it'll be successful..
Also added the net above, let's see how this goes.
March 27th - Day 46th : Plants are looking great I think. They're reacting well to the new PH'd water and nutrients although the nutrients are bringing up the PH of the water too much. The defficiencies seem to have dissapeared. The net and the streching are doing the work. Let's observe, will update on Sunday. I also defoliated a bit
April 5th : - Day 55 :
Sorry for the late update, the babies went into flowers about 6 days ago, I put them on a 12 hour light cycle, defoliated a bit and blasted the 150w to 100%.
April 9th - Day 59 :
Some concerning news today. I came back after leaving the setup on automation for a few days but there must've been a problem with the light switch and water pumps as everything was very dry and leaves suffered from lack of water. I immediately assessed the problem when I noticed this. There was also an issue with the lights that basically stayed on 24/7 for 4 days.. They got a good night of rest and now back to normal. I trimmed the leaves that suffered the most and tried to make it look as nice as possible but they took a big hit.. hopefully nothing to be too concerned about. Will update Friday.
April 16th - Day 66 : All good after that little issue the other day. The babies are doing good. Decided to cut the lower branches as they weren't getting any light.
April 21st - Day 71 : The babies are doing great as you can see on the video and close ups! So exciting what do you think growmies??
April 26th - Day 76 : Oh my god! The smell wow! Everything just came blazing couldn't believe. They look good. I can tell the yield will be small but I don't really care to be honest. I'm so excited to see them babies grow healtly, i'm like a proud dad.
May 4th - Day 84 : The babies are doing great. They're drinking good. I'm just thinking one tent might be too small for two plants as the main one is pressing the second one against the walls. Starting to keep an eye open on one of them that I think might be ready. I'm not saying which one, want to do a proper reveal aha.
May 16th - Day 86 - All good here, as you can see the babies are prospering. I'm quite confused tho when looking to other diaries and seeing that I'm like three or four weeks behind.. Might be because of my irrigation system but still doing good.
May 23rd - Day 93 : So intricate moment here. I'm considering harvesting one of the two, but a friend is telling me to wait till it's 20% amber or at least more cloudy. He's an experienced grower and has been of a precious help from the start. This grow is dedicated to my boy Droomba. I'm at week 7 of flowering and Fastbuds says 7 weeks. I'm going to push it for a week or two
The problem encountered during the growth :
- Water (at the beginning) too little pumps that didn’t propagate the water equally so I went for a bigger industrial pump that pumps equally in the whole tent.
- RC : Some problems with the humidity at the beginning but got sorted out when I got the de humidifier
- Babies almost died mid-grow, came in with the ultimate save of the day, one day later and it was over.
- Had a problem with the container that held the water as water was empty when I’d get back at the end of the week (during flowering mode) so I went with a 120L container which works just fine.
- Didn’t flush properly because I was in a rush
June 13th - Day 115 : Hey guys! So today is the final big day! Harvested the second plant for the tent : The sour Strawberry. Baby looks fucking beautiful but think I could've let it run for another week or two.
It gave me aproximately 120grams of dried buds. I like it less than the 420fast buds Banana Purple. Less flavor and the high is kind of mellow. I believe it’s because I didn’t flush it at all before harvesting as I needed the tent for the second batch of babies. Also maybe because I tested the greens 3-4 days before the end of dry. Zamnesia was a first but definitely the last time I'm ordering seed through them
