With the seeds of the next cycle already germinating in cups of water it was time to harvest the Northern Light Automatic by Royal Queen Seeds. She was moved outside the tent and was given a full hand trim. The entire process took about three hours. As opposed to the Sherbet Queen of last run, the Northern Light was trimmed wet. Drying conditions are 23ยฐC and between 50-60% humidity. She still smells a bit like hay on the second day after harvest, nowhere near dry. On the third day after harvest, the hay smell is stronger. More information once she's dried sufficiently. Ofcourse, I will then also share her dry weight. After some consulting our peer group came up with a range between 65-90 grams. What is YOUR guess?

Flower Week 3 / Day 2: The plants each received 2 liters of water and nutrients. I only gave them half the dose of fertilizer. They are doing wonderful. The leaves have a rich green color and are praying. Flower Week 3 / Day 5: Today I defoliated them again a little, as some parts were getting a bit too bushy. They are now quite sticky and the trichomes glisten in the light. Unfortunately, it doesn't look quite the same on the video. All of Taylor's buds develop evenly. In Beyoncรฉ's case, one half is already well developed and the other half behaves completely differently. In any case, both are healthy. Perhaps it is also due to the genetics of the plant.

This is my Northern Lights i got in a freebie pack quite a while ago. I planted it in my veg room for kicks as i have never been interested in growing an auto. Im lucky enough to have two tents so I use my Veg room for experiments and cloning as well. As you can see even though I germed it a week after my Blue Dream (check my diary :)) it quickly turned into this monster. SO For your pleasure I present my first Auto, lets see how she does!

So I definitely remember now why I put these stupid jiffy peat moss pellet things away awhile ago. They are the worst!!! There either swamped wet or rock hard dry. Really hard to keep them in between. Lol I had to take them out of my cloning machine do to the fact they where just to wet for this stage. I usually use rock wool cubes but I ran out of them and decided to try these stupid things again. I was able to get her sprouted though and I will be moving her to a 3 gal DWC bucket as soon as I build them. For watering, Iโ€™ve just been dunking them halfway in my cloning reservoir and letting them soak up some water for a sec and pull them out. It seems to be keeping them wet but not soaked, and there good for about 24Hrs untill she is dry and needs more. I will upload some more pics later in the week once I get her in a DWC bucket. Cheers ๐Ÿ’จ

my dry and cure style is this: 4 days of hanging upside down to get water activity lower to around 0.6 in 50% humidity and 26 C temp (i know its a little high but we are in a hot summer right now and i cant get it lower even with air conditioner) and then after 4 days of drying i remove leaves and stalks, trim buds and move them to jar for the rest of their life :D . and in the first 4 days of curing i open the jar door and let hem get some fresh air in the jar for about 5 minutes and close the jar door again, after 4 days of curing like that buds are smokable but they will get better as they getting cured about 1 month. buds are one of the hardest as fucking rocks type of buds! very dense , compact , sticky , smelly , amazing at every aspect growing stage was 56 days and flowering stage was 75 days total (harvested tops at day 64th) the total weight of dry buds was : (plant #1 & #3 top buds 56 G + lower buds 22 G ) 78 G + (plant #2 top buds 47 G + lower buds 18 G ) 55 G + (plant #4 top buds 120 G + lower buds 67 G ) 187 G = 367 G

So this is the Tear Down week. The timing of it makes it so i will need to the harvest flag in a few days when I can weight and test the plants. I have included the Cleaning, and Cutting and some Root Porn. I will make the harvest post in about 4-5 days, when I can trim these plants. There is a lot of Plant here. I got way more than I was expecting. I don't have a scale that measure this amount of plant, without taking like 10 measurements and then adding them together. So I will just be posting the dry weight. I will post the wet weight as dry weight * 1.65. Autopots: Wow, what a great product. I have been blown away by how well and how easy it was to work with them. They really did solve the watering issues. Excellent product. If you are a beginner, start with Autopots. -= Lessons Learnt =- - Overdrive the air to your Autopots. In my control plant, I used a small rectangle air stone (instead of a standard air dome). This lead to root rot and some other issues, it also put significantly less air into the water. The root rot, give the material for the Brown Algae to grow. Using a huge Air-disc-Air-Stone would be an excellent combo to mix in with the air dome itself. Something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Pawfly-Diffuser-Suction-Hydroponics-Aquarium/dp/B01MY3AQ33 at the bottom and the air-dome on top of it, will be what I do with my next experiment. - Air stone in the reservoir. I had two instances where algae grew into the res. An air stone would have helped. It would have also helped my control plant get less root rot. Given the amount that the air-domes and air sources got engulfed, having the water have more o2 in it would have only been beneficial. - Don't grow 6 plants in a 4x4. Since my control plant was about 1/8th the size of the others, I think I could have grown 5 in the shape of a 5 (on a 6 sided dice)โš„ This placement would give a much more spaced canopy for airflow and more importantly light. The sides of some of the plants were lighter green and produced larf due to lack of light penetration. - This tent was on 19-5 schedule. This worked out very well for this strain. After every lights on, they were in the praying position, so this strain was able to recover in that 5hrs off. If I had more seeds, I would run these again, and try 20-4. I think this strain could handle it. All for all, I think I'm going to 19-5 as my default timing. This kept up a solid DLI. - Staring at .9EC (really .7 EC cause my water here is .2 EC) Then bumping up at .1 a week, until 1.6EC worked out VERY well. I experimented on this crop all the way up to 1.9EC, which burnt the tips of this plant. I think if I did this strain again, I would do 1.6EC until 3-4 weeks left then crank it to 1.9. It did plump them up when I went to 1.9, however it left them looking rough. Bulk was added though. - Sticking to 6.0PH for all of veg, and 2 weeks into flower worked great. The plant had solid and consistent color and leaf shape . The plant's did get hurt, due to some issues (as noted on the weeks). I switched to 6.5 PH in the last 3-4 weeks and it helped them recover, and plump up noticeably. -VPD. The #1 thing I focused on was VPD. I keep it .9kpa range, as best as humanly possible. It was honestly, HUGELY noticeable compared to my other grows. I know truly understand the value of properly dialed in VPD. This is the one lesson that will stick with me forever. - Super-cropping: On the plants I give the chiropractic treatment too, had much thicker stems as much larger channel internally. I did this treatment to 4 of the 6, and the 4 that had it done has larger buds and recovered from defoliation faster. TLDR; VPD is king. Super-cropping is worth the time. Keeping PH and EC dialed in were all wins. Autopots kick ass.

~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2204 ~ Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This tester strain is one of six tester strains that FastBuds has graciously provided me with and I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! One drawback of 'testers' is I have little to no information on it other than its number and that it's an autoflower... ๐Ÿคช But, it's ALWAYS a blast growing them for me because not knowing a lot allows me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~THE SETUP~ ~Initially seeds were lightly scuffed, then soaked for 3 hours in 78โ„‰ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Vivosun Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78โ„‰ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged. ~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78โ„‰ with a 7.0 ph. ~Once roots emerge from the Jiffy Pellet they're transferred to their fabric pots. ~Grown 100% organic in a 4g Gronest fabric pot and a 3g fabric pot by Wraxly filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and initially amended with Dr. Earth 4-4-4 / Earthworm Castings / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food 5-2-4. ~19/5 light cycle for the entire run with supplemental UVA added during flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation. ~Top dressing every 3-4 weeks with slow release dry amendments and Earthworm castings. ~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed and bi-weekly Compost Tea's. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 1/19- Here we go into Week Three of flower and these testers are finally in flower mode!๐Ÿง๐Ÿ‘ Both testers are in flower and are ready to eat! Today I gave both girls a top dressing with Down To Earth 4-8-4 Flower Mix at a ratio of 2tbsp/g and Coast of Maine's Stonington Blend 5-2-4 Organic Plant Food at a ratio of 1tbsp/g which I simplified by using 1/3 cup of the 4-8-4 and 1/4 cup of the 5-2-4 in the 4g pot and 3/8 cup of 4-8-4 and 1/8 cup of the 5-2-4 in the 3g pot. After working the amendments into the medium, I watered it in with 1g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 74โ„‰. It will take a week for the microbes to begin breaking it down and will last for 3 weeks or so. I'll monitor them and decide on whether I'll give them another top dress or let them ride. I've also increased the power to the HLG 650R's the the Trolmaster Hydro X Controller to 75% which has them pulling 990w at the wall and have them hung 32" above canopy. I also starting adding in 4 hours of UVA during the middle of the light cycle for the remainder of flower. I've been monitoring their leaf temperatures and they're running 71-73โ„‰ which is perfect! I have the AutoPilot APC8200 co2 Controller set to 1100ppm with a 100ppm window and the AC Infinity Cloudline T6 controller set to maintain a 74โ„‰ temperature in the tent while the lights are on. 1/21- I'm watering these thirsty girls daily with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd it to 6.6 @ 74โ„‰ and they're both thriving! The #1 pheno being roughly a week ahead of the #2 is starting to flower nicely. The #2 pheno, while different behind her sister, is finally beginning to get her act together a is making flowers!๐Ÿง 1/23- I watered/fed both testers today with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water each with GreenGro's Natures Brix and Granular Myco mixed in, after which I added 1 tsp/g of unsulfured molasses and then ph'd it to 6.6 @ 74โ„‰. They'll be getting only one more feed from here moving forward as they will take a little longer than the other testers in the run that are well into flower now. 1/25- Yesterday I didn't water but continued today with 0.75g for the #1, and 0.5g for the #2, of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 74โ„‰. They're both looking really healthy and both into flower! I'm really looking forward to Week Four of flower where they should start to reveal how they're going to look after stretching!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’š ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’š Thank you for checking out my passion in life! Please visit as often as you wish and I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I know I will! Grow Strong! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค™

day22 video. now adding more pk booster than earlier weeks, should be done week 7-8 we will see day23 I start adding more pk, still will 4x more pk now. Some nice pics today, videos of each, frost on fan leafs, no issues other than pros: bridal frost on fan leafs+sugar, cons 6ft tall. I think I should have pumped more pk earlier into flower/pre Its cool. Adding 2tbsp soluble pk into 5gal vs quarter tbsp in beginning 22 days ago. I am feeding soluble pk, +3 pk soil conditioners and carbs every day. There is no water day. day 25 stacking up. been spraying old cs I made 3ish years ago to test, works on unrooted so I may potential cross. Bridal starting to smell like a mix between fresh watermelon, and lemon+lime or a citrus aroma.

It was a perfect 11-week cycle, everything went very well, I really liked the result using the new Lec lighting system, my first cultivation in coconut, it was difficult to adapt with the watering at first, but I soon adapted. I really liked the result so far of 3 plants harvested, total of 1055kg wet, I still lack two plants to harvest. Post results later.

This is THE week. The girls are putting on weight and connecting with a great fade going on. The trichomes are at about 1% amber, 25% hazy and 74% clear. I suspect that will change soon. Iโ€™m doing special feedings for the plants every other day with a shot of beastie bloomz 0-50-30 and redirecting the runoff to a separate reservoir. We are in the home stretch here and I canโ€™t wait to trim up the super piney, earthy, floral strain.

After many weeks believing that I have mites in my cultivation, I start to believe that my real problem is my soil. Apparently my soil still has decomposing material and it has affected the leaves. Waiting the flowering goes and how will plant react of it. I hope it not serious thing. My leaves problem look like excess of nutrient in soil formulation. On this week I turn lights on. Now there will be 360W full power to flowering stage.

Most of this week I was away so the tent was on autopilot. When i got back i was pleased to see all 4 strains where still around the same on development. The strawberry pie is the smaller of the 2 fastbuds autos. She is starting to throw out some nice colours now. I'm confident this one is going to hit my 13 weeks scheduled for it, so not long left. So I found out yesterday that this lady is high CBD. I thought it was a regular indica thc so I'm disappointed to say the least. I'm not a fan of cbd and dont feel it does any of the things some people claim as I've tried it for many ailments and high thc is the only thing that's ever helped me. Due to this, I decided to start her on the flowering schedule early. I'm not too sure on the percentage and weather or not it has any thc, so I'll have to see. Either way I'm very happy with her progress and how well shes doing. I've learned so much from this grow so I know my next one will be awesome.
