Luckily no more mould has spread, and all plants look happy healthy and still developing. 2022-09-03 I planted all 3 Seeds, started one indoors and 2 Outdoors 2 Outdoors were attacked by the Cat- and did not survive The indoor Girls developed very fast, and after 4 Weeks she went Outdoors too. There she showed great Performance. Easy to grow, no big attention needed. She was pleaded with her light prefertilsed Soilmix, and n eeded only afew Feedings in Stretch and i think one Bloom Feeding in Flower. After only 6 full Weeks of Flower, she war ready to Harvest. harbvesting was very easy here. Buds are thick, and dense. ( and sticky). The ratio from leaves to Buds are Phenomenal--- economic Plant---- nearly to no waste Only some branches, a handfull of leaves, and a big amount of lovely smelling Flowers The smell yes,,,, she smells like Pink grapefruit, and Peaches...... Will need to teat them and kill em all off if possible. The thrips are also outdoors on some of my plants, I feel they came from the bagged promix I got or they overwintered and travelled indoors. Light was a bit to strong at 100% when i grew taller, turned it down to 80%ish now till it starts to blooms. currently at 45cm hang height, Tent is having some issues with cooling down, even running the extractor is not doing much, so I prop the door open at the top and it helps vent it out. Maybe because of the vents the air is not circulating though and just travelling up one side of the tent, IDK. its a waste to run it past setting 5 on a 2x2 so the door will stay propped indefinitely. Still no smells unless I'm rubbing them, no signs of flower just yet, temped to top or LST but I think I'm going to let them go as is and get a good gauge on how they grow and yield. Finally at harvest and cure! It has been a long wait. But absolutely worth it! I really want to grab some more seeds for this one and run her again. Absolutely fat colas and wonderful smells the whole time. You open the bag and it envelopes a room in seconds. Pure gassy fruit through and through when you smell it and when you smoke it. 10/10 would cultivate again!!

Blueberry Muffin – Pheno B | Week 4 Finding Her Own Rhythm Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure, where twelve cultivars are being documented individually from seed to harvest under a strict 12/12-from-seed schedule. Every phenotype follows its own diary, allowing each plant to develop independently and reveal the subtle differences that make every seed a unique expression of its genetics. Week 4 has been another exciting chapter across the entire room. The explosive growth that began last week has continued, and every day the garden feels a little more alive. Canopies are becoming denser, branches are reaching outward with confidence, and the room is slowly transforming into the miniature forest I imagined when this project first began. One thing that couldn’t go unnoticed this week was the environmental reading. 33.3°C and 63% humidity. Apparently the grow room has developed a strange obsession with the number three. 😄 Although temperatures climbed higher than I’d normally like, the relatively high humidity helped soften the impact, and the plants rewarded the stable environment by continuing to grow with impressive vigor. Sometimes nature reminds us that consistency is just as important as chasing perfect numbers. ⸻ Week 4 Environment 🌡️ Temperature: 33.3°C 💧 Relative Humidity: 63% 💡 PPFD: 700–800 µmol/m²/s 🌱 Medium: Plagron Lightmix ? Growing Method: 12/12 From Seed As the room continues to develop, another interesting difference is appearing naturally. The lighting itself hasn’t been increased significantly this week. Instead, some phenotypes are simply growing faster and moving closer to the fixtures. Those taller plants are now receiving around 800 PPFD, while the shorter individuals remain closer to 700 PPFD. It’s another reminder that no two phenotypes read the same instruction manual. Even under identical conditions, every plant follows its own pace. ⸻ Feeding Strategy The feeding program has also continued evolving alongside the plants. During the first weeks the nutrient solution stayed around pH 5.8, maximizing nutrient availability while young root systems became established inside the containers. Now those root systems have expanded considerably, allowing a slight shift in strategy. Throughout this week the solution gradually moved toward pH 6.1, while nutrient strength steadily increased, finishing around EC 1.8. The recipe itself hasn’t changed dramatically. No major adjustments. No sudden jumps. Simply a gentle increase in concentration to match the plants’ increasing appetite. Sometimes the smallest adjustments create the biggest improvements, and this week’s growth has been a great example of that philosophy. Allowing the pH to drift slightly higher also gives the roots access to a broader spectrum of nutrients available within the substrate, helping support the increasing demands of this new stage of growth. As always, the goal remains the same: Listen to the plants, not the feeding chart. ⸻ Blueberry Muffin – Pheno B This young lady has been quietly writing one of my favourite stories inside the tent. Unlike her sister, who seemed determined to impress from almost the very beginning, Pheno B decided to keep everyone guessing. Her first weeks were… let’s call them creative. The leaf structure wasn’t quite what I expected, growth was a little unusual, and every new set of leaves felt like another clue in a mystery I hadn’t solved yet. Fast forward to Week 4… The mystery is starting to make sense. She’s finding her own rhythm. Looking at her now, it’s hard not to appreciate just how much progress she’s made over the course of a single week. The unusual appearance that once caught my attention is fading into the background as healthy, vigorous new growth begins taking over the canopy. She’s still not trying to imitate her sister—and honestly, I hope she never does. Every phenotype deserves to express itself. The structure is becoming noticeably fuller, with side branches beginning to establish themselves beneath the canopy while the main stem continues building upward with confidence. Internodal spacing remains compact, creating a nicely stacked framework that should provide plenty of future flowering sites. One detail I particularly enjoy is the contrast between the older and newer growth. Fresh leaves emerge in a bright lime-green colour full of energy before gradually darkening as they mature, giving the plant a vibrant appearance that changes almost daily. Looking deeper into the canopy, more secondary shoots are beginning to appear than I expected only a week ago. She seems to be quietly building herself from the inside out, strengthening her framework before making any dramatic moves upward. There’s something very satisfying about watching a plant overcome an uncertain beginning. She may not possess the textbook symmetry of Pheno A, but she’s developing a character entirely her own. And sometimes, those are the phenotypes that end up becoming unforgettable. ⸻ Looking Ahead Week 5 should be another exciting milestone. With nutrient demand increasing, root development well established, and the first signs of flowering beginning to appear throughout the room, I’m expecting another noticeable leap in development. Over the coming week I’ll be watching closely for: • Stretch progression as flowering begins. • Continued branch development. • Response to the higher EC. • Structural differences compared to her sister phenotype. • How her unique architecture evolves as the canopy continues to fill. The slow start now feels like a distant memory. This week wasn’t about catching up anymore. A light spectrum in the scope of 400 to 700nm induces growth and development, and UV (100–400nm) and infrared (700–800nm) light play a role in plant morphogenesis—which is essentially the process of plants developing their physical form and external structure. Optimizing Your Knowledge in the Grow Room To maximize your yield, always aim for 40 moles, or 40,000,000 μmol, per day. Here is how much PPFD is needed per second for each phase of cannabis growth to achieve the DLI of 40 moles of light per day. Seedling phase (18hr cycle): 200–300 μmol m-2 s-1 Vegetative phase (18hr cycle): 617 μmol m-2 s-1 Flowering phase (12hr cycle): 925 μmol m-2 s-1, (1500 μmol m-2 s-1 @2000ppm co2) (ballpark) When choosing grow lights for cannabis, it is essential to check the technical specifications to determine if they are strong enough to get the job done. Of course, this doesn't mean that you have to buy the most expensive lights there are. Still, it does mean that you should research each of these specifications in relation to your cannabis plants to find a grow light that will fully serve your needs. This is especially true with PPFD, as this is arguably the most insightful value for growers—it tells you exactly how much useful light your plants are absorbing at a certain distance from the grow light. With my fixed light source, as the plant develop height through stages, it will naturaslly grow into higher μmol ranges naturally dictated by its height. ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL5 (HY5), a bZIP-type transcription factor, acts as a master regulator that regulates various physiological and biological processes in plants such as photomorphogenesis, root growth, flavonoid biosynthesis and accumulation, nutrient acquisition, and response to abiotic stresses. HY5 is evolutionally conserved in function among various plant species. HY5 acts as a master regulator of a light-mediated transcriptional regulatory hub that directly or indirectly controls the transcription of approximately one-third of genes at the whole genome level. The transcription, protein abundance, and activity of HY5 are tightly modulated by a variety of factors through distinct regulatory mechanisms. This review primarily summarizes recent advances in HY5-mediated molecular and physiological processes and regulatory mechanisms on HY5 in the model plant Arabidopsis as well as in crops. Plants utilize light as the predominant energy source for photosynthesis. Besides, light signal acts as an essential external factor that mediates a variety of physiological and developmental processes in plants. Plants are continuously exposed to dynamically changing light signals due to the daily and seasonal alternation in natural conditions. The various light signals are perceived by at least five classes of wavelength-specific photoreceptors including phytochromes (phyA-phyE), cryptochromes (CRY1 and CRY2), phototropin (PHOT1 and PHOT2), F-box containing flavin binding proteins (ZTL, FKF1, and (LKP2), and UV-B RESISTANCE LOCUS 8 (UVR8). These photoreceptors are biologically activated by various light signals, subsequently initiating a large scale of transcriptional reprogramming at the whole genome level. Extensive genetic and biochemical studies have established that the ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL5 (HY5), a bZIP-type transcription factor, tightly controls the light-regulated transcriptional alternation. Loss of HY5 function mutant seedlings display drastically elongated hypocotyls in various light conditions, suggesting that HY5 acts downstream of multiple photoreceptors in promoting photomorphogenesis in plants. In addition to inhibiting hypocotyl growth, HY5 regulates other various physiological and developmental processes including root growth, pigment biosynthesis and accumulation, responses to various hormonal signals, and low and high temperatures. This review summarizes the recent advances and progress in HY5-regulated cellular, physiological, and developmental processes in various plant species. We also highlighted emerging insights regarding the HY5-mediated integration of multiple developmental, external, and internal signaling inputs in the regulation of plant growth. Among the genes regulated by the circadian clock, we found that the excision repair protein XPA is controlled by the biological clock, and we, therefore, asked whether the entire nucleotide excision repair oscillates with daily periodicity. XPA transcription and protein levels are at a maximum at around 5 pm and at a minimum at around 5 am. Importantly, the entire excision repair activity shows the same pattern. This led to the prediction that mice would be more sensitive to UV light when exposed at 5 am (when repair is low), compared to 5 pm (when repair is high). We proceeded to test this prediction. We irradiated two groups of mice with UV at 5 am and 5 pm, respectively, and found that the group irradiated at 5 am exhibited a 4–5 fold higher incidence of invasive skin carcinoma than the group irradiated at 5 pm. Currently, we are investigating whether this rhythmicity of excision repair exists in humans. Molecular mechanism of the mammalian circadian clock. CLOCK and BMAL1 are transcriptional activators, which form a CLOCK-BMAL1 heterodimer that binds to the E-box sequence (CACGTG) in the promoters of Cry and Per genes to activate their transcription. CRY and PER are transcriptional repressors, and after an appropriate time delay following protein synthesis and nuclear entry, they inhibit their own transcription, thus causing the rise and fall of CRY and PER levels with circa 24-hour periodicity (core clock). The core clock proteins also act on other genes that have E-boxes in their regulatory regions. As a consequence, about 30% of all genes are clock-controlled genes (CCG) in a given tissue and hence exhibit daily rhythmicity. Among these genes, the Xpa gene, which is essential for nucleotide excision repair, is also controlled by the clock. Circadian control of excision repair and photocarcinogenesis in mice. The core circadian clock machinery controls the rhythmic expression of XPA, such that XPA RNA and protein levels are at a minimum at 5 am and at a maximum at 5 pm. The entire excision repair system, therefore, exhibits the same type of daily periodicity. As a consequence, when mice are irradiated with UVB at 5 am they develop invasive skin carcinoma at about 5-fold higher frequency compared to mice irradiated at 5 pm when repair is at its maximum. The mouse in the picture belongs to the 5 am group with multiple invasive skin carcinomas at the conclusion of the experiment.

Day 98, 40 days of flower, Plants are progressing well from all the abuse I've put them threw. Not sure when to chop plant B. Keeping an eye on the tricomes. Day 99, 41 days of flower, Watered with 3 liters per plant of plain distilled water. Day 100, picked some dead leaves off like I do everyday now, just keeping an eye on plant B's trichomes since it's hairs are showing the most age. Plant A's hairs are all orange now, while plant C and D are still white. Looks like we will have a staggered harvest. Not sure when to harvest though. Day 101, 43 days of flower(start of week 7 of flower) - Picked more dead leaves off, Plant A- has the biggest bugs, all orange hairs, but the smallest stalk. Plant B- has a few new white hairs but is still aging. Plant C- has small frost buds, and alot of white hairs. Plant D- has medium sized buds with plents of frost, has lots of white hairs. Day 102, 44 days of flower- Watered with 3 liters of plain distilled water. Picked more dead leaves off of course to maintain a clean canopy and reduce options for bugs. Day 104, day 46 of flower- Plant B has some amber trichomes, so I might chop it today or tomorrow. Took alot of photos of plant B since it's my first harvest.

Hi all the happy people here in GrowDiaries. This is my second cultivation ever and it will be fun to try a bigger space than my closet grows First, I'm just going to say I'm done with the construction of my new growroom. I put some pictures on the construction here in week one. The room is 2.14 meters by 1.7 meters and has a ceiling height of 2 meters. It provides a floor area of ​​3.6 square meters. I use a 54 Watt Lightwawe T5 for germination and 2 Pcs 400 Watt HPS lamps. I have a channel fan that replaces the room air about 40 times an hour to get a comfortable theme in the room, the air enters a fresh air intake from the outside. The air is purified through a carbon filter to then leave the room to the rest of the basement. Then I use that heat to heat the rest of the basement. I will use 8 pcs 15 liter Autopots to grow with and a 100 liter water tank that supplies the pots of water and nutrition. I will grow completely organically in soil and will watercure my buds to get the best possible medicine for me. But there are no cultivation rooms to be displayed here, so I continue with what is most important. Today I have put my seeds in my moisture dome and hope the seeds have germinated within a few days.
