Born in Amsterdam in the 1990s, SAGE - short for Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium - pairs the incense-heavy Big Sur Holy with a classic Afghani, a foundational indica. Bred by T.H.Seeds, this mostly sativa cultivar quickly built a reputation, earning 1st place for hash in 2000 and 2nd place in the 2001 High Times Cannabis Cup blind test. The cross delivers equilibrium between long, airy calyx stacks and stout resin output. Aromas lean piney and herbal-sage with a spicy, woody streak, reflecting a terpene trio led by terpinolene with myrcene and caryophyllene behind it. Typical potency sits high, with THC commonly 18 to 25 percent and CBD low at roughly 0 to 1 percent, translating to bright, creative uplift and a happy, clear mental tone layered over a gently energized body. Plants show a sativa frame with medium internodes and dense, resinous Afghani bracts; late in bloom the buds often double in size. Indoors, SAGE reaches about 120 to 140 cm and finishes in 70 to 77 days, yielding roughly 350 to 400 g per m2 in capable rooms. Outdoors, expect medium production near 300 g per plant where autumns stay dry and mild.
