Girls were switched to 12/12 last monday.
Last night they received a light feed of 420 ppm.
100 ppm of bloom for some root growth and 320 rpm of grow formula. Tallest girl is at 25 inch and most others at 22 and 24 inches.
Feeling easy now that the new ec meter and calibration solution has arrived.
Ec coming out of the planters are really low. Plants are starting to eat like pigs. 420 ppm in and 300 ppm out. Last feed before this lite feed, I fed at 700ppm, 300 coming out.
Ph in was 5.6 ph out was 6.1
Thanks for stopping by.
May 10th
Girls got a feed today
750 ppm going in
600 ppm on the runoff
Ph going in was set at 5.6
Ph out of the runoff was 5.9
Girls are in preflower now
May 12th
Girl are just about finished their transition. Next week update will switch the diary to say flower.
Gave them a preventative dawn soap and water spray yesterday just for piece of mind. Haven't had any gnats this run with the new Promix HP. Extra wind added and I see where the fan constantly hits these girls the tips claw in a bit.
Still haven't fed as heavily as most other strains I have grown.
Next will be straight water, then half bloom, half veg notes for the next feed day. Girls are at 29 and 28 inches, everything's healthy and happy...
AMS Seed Company is sending me 5 free M.O.A.B. fem seeds. Will be doing a diary for testing purposes for this strain. Very expensive breeder to buy here, so very happy to try these seeds their giving me.
Thanks for the dropping by..
@TrickOrTrip, Thanks my friend. It's a new strain for me and one of the lightest feeders I have ever come across. Light and fert sensitive so it's me adjusting to their needs. Hope I have it dialed in now as you can see from the burnt tips and a few leaves clawed. I have them happy,,at the moment lol....
@AstroBoy, it had started to spread, but I think I am winning the battle. Less eggs every time I spray. Only a few here and there I keep blasting. Thnx for the prayers. May the Ganja God be with us...
@AstroBoy, yes unfortunately. I seen how up the leaves were praying on that girl, then I thought, no, it don,t look right and got closer with my reading glasses on and sure enough. Stress praying from those little buggers. I will keep up with the sprinse for another week. Their almost done the building of the buds and the bulking should start next week.
Some decent looking trees there! Even better they're light feeders...saves on a resupply trip to the grow shop that ALWAYS costs more than you intended!!! :)
@BioBuds, simple answer to that is, I can fill my space and grow most photoperiod out in 14 to 15 weeks from seed. Training takes so much longer and wouldn't be able to fit as many girls as I do. Next answer is when problems arise, it is to hard to get to the back with a scrog net in place. Next I have been doing this for 45 years and I simply don't want the extra work and time involved anymore. I was a water grower, RDWC but with age come bad backs and this peat grow is simply the easiest and pret near as quick as the RDWC with no need for extra cal/mg, so a little cash saved there as well. The training I am doing right now is just to slow these girls down so that the Gelato can finish the next 5 weeks.
I actually had a few problems this go. Had to replace my ph probe for my growboss, but that was before my grow. I use 2 nutradip ph probes at the same time to make sure the ph is always bang on. Then the ec/temp probe screwed up so had to replace that. That's where most of the brown tips came from unfortunately. Any how. Thanks for answering my question my friend. She is a finicky plant for sure. Now that their in full on flower their eating like pigs... Have a great day my friend..
@GMSgrows, may I ask why ony the LST then and not topping or fimming and SOG for instance? Or a manifold? With your growspace ad light I would make it an Ocean of Green, maybe one little footpath or ill crawl under the caopy :P
I see the plant wants to stretch, all the Gelato #33 diaries have the same type of grow and deficiencies.
About that sulphur deficiency we encountered, I prematurely blamed my PH being too low. But you feed at 5.8.... So thats not it, unless you had a ph meter problem like me aswell.
After that I blamed my soil being depleted. With only a couple of weeks organic startfeed in the soils I used, this was a plausibel theory but can be binned cause you don't have soil....
So we can also exclude the growlights, I have Led, you have HPS.
Then we have remaining: some substance in our feed interferes with sulphur uptake, something in our climates, we both had the lights too close for a period. Or the plants are just sulphur gobblers...
So handy to have these grows next to each other! Good luck!
So there is some
@xbrico, I don't really like when they get so tall, buds are never as big, but I have read where some gelato get many buds, not as big but tight little and lots of nuggies. We will see.
Thanks for the looks and comments my friend...
@DoDrugs420, Thanks, we are doingdrugs now DoDrugs420. Very fine tasting smoke and with all the different phenos, each plant has it's own unique taste. M.0.A.B. is the next grow, coming soon.
@SeaGrow, Thanks my friend.. I am figuring 2 more weeks. Took the plant that had some mites down the other night. Wasn't doing much after the fight the mite bout, so checked it out. No mites left but it was just ripening early. No amber trichs, but all clouded over, and all the pistol had orangered so took her a little early to have a taste. Was still a pretty good haul though. Not as much as the other girls but I am figuring a little over 3 oz dry. Might be able to try it in a day or 2..
I see u also had the sulphur shortage, with the reddish hue o the leaves. my gelatos too. Very nice plants, very curious to see what you harvest. Your plants are bigger in two weeks less. Im at 8 weeks but I have smaler space so I fim, LST and HST them to get canopy. You have the soilless setup but also the 1000 watt HPS.... Oh my... Still same problem with the sulphur deficiency... I thought it was cause of my compost tea or soil but thse guys eat S for breakfast lunch and dinnee.... Final week fo you, Im folowing for results good luck!!
@SeaGrow, Thanks bro. They had some recovering due to my back going out on me, and not being able to get down to the girls for a few days. Also had my ec probe screw up so didn't really know how much I was feeding them. All in all they are looking pretty good and I expect some nice nugs soon. Their on12/12 now since monday, so they should be throwing flower by the end of next week.
@FreshCoastOrganics, absolutely my friend. We can stay away from raising these girls to long. Got about enough left from last years grows to get me till this grows done.
Thanks for the comment FreshCB
@GMSgrows, there is definately politics going on with the select your answer bit of the growquestions. People seem to have more questions during certain contests. What I find sad is that I cant add to the Newbie competition cause my harvest isnt done yet. And when its done Im probably not a newbie anymore... Dont sweat it. Keep answering, enough new people without the 'network' to get your win evey once in a while. For me the win is what we harvst every 3 to 4 mnths and I use the growquestions as a way to train my diagnose and observational skills.
@Rabidreject, people accusing people of cheating in some of the contests. Some get jealous cuz they cant grow as good as you. Just some really woke libtards here as well.
@GMSgrows,oh really? That’s interesting. Like doing what?
I’m pretty serious about this sh!t, being in prohibition land. Also I’m hooked, line and sinker! I just can’t stop growing my own medicine. What do you think about the situation with Dina fem? Their plants always looks really fat. Always wanted to grow both them and humboldt. Oh well! Shame I didn’t stock up on seeds before brexit tbh, there have been a few seed companies that arnt shipping to the uk anymore like RQS, sweet seeds and barneys farm also. Lucky I got sent a load of free barneys seeds, trouble is they are photoperiod but if there comes a time I don’t have anything they are at the back of my freezer.
