Starting this diary from the planting of the seed for those that would like to learn soiless growing using nutramix HP or promise HP. From a grow shop is where to purchase. Not home Depot. Watch and read the comments in my photos. April 3rd update. Planted late in the day march 31st. By april 2nd 3 babies were born and waking up today april 3rd and the 4th baby is up. One sour diesel came up with the seed shell still attached. Gonna have to try and remove it.

Planted the 2 gelato and 2 sour diesels late in the day march 31st and this morning signs of life. 2 gelatos popped and 1 sour diesel. Figuring the other sour diesel will be up tomorrow so starting the veg weeks as of now. Bought these seeds from farmerslabseeds.com and very impressed how fast these seeds popped, seeing as I just dropped them into the peat. Pointy end up of course. April 4th Girls have received their first feed. I will list total feed/water routines and values as I go. Fed today at 400 ppm My well water is 80 to 100 ppm. I added 200ppm of floranova grow, 100ppm of floranova bloom as well for a total of 400 ppm. 0.8ec Watered cups until a little runoff making sure I wet the entire planter. I'm wanting roots to spread quickly. Room temp is 74 humidity 63 CMH is running at 125 watts bout 15 inches from the plants. Removed the seed head from the sour diesel successfully and all the girls are on their way. April 8th update Last night April the 7th I plain watered the girls with a ph of 5.8. No need to check runoff levels for now. Girls are looking happy even though I am fighting low humidity levels until I get a new wick for my aircare humidifier. The gelato are looking good, the sour diesel is a little slower. Every Friday as the week is finished, I will be posting new pics. Hard to see the difference in a week if you take pics every day. So tomorrow, some updated pics will be posted.

April 9th Plants are one week old at 7 tonight. 10th day from planting the seeds. Girls are looking fine. Will have more of an update when their ready for their next feed., likely Sun. Or Mon. Will be upping their feed by 100 ppm for a total of 500 ppm. April 11th 2021 Girls are 9 days old today. Feed day today. Seems every 4th day for water/feed. Fed the girls at 500 ppm 1.0 ec tonight. Well water was at 80 ppm Added 420 ppm 0.84 ec of floranova grow for a total of 500 ppm, 1.0 ec Gelato fast flower are very quick growers. Sour diesel are slower growers. Both were free seeds included in the Gelato order, and so far not to impressed with the genetics of these plants. We'll see. Started 2 other Gelatos at my buddies place incase the diesel doesn't perform. I'll just replace them if they dont improve some. Out of the 6 seeds planted all sprouted. Farmerslabseeds.com will get more buisiness from me. April 12. Girls are 10 days old today. Transplanted the ladies into their forever home. Cups were filled with roots and ready to go. Busy day, off to the hydro store. Couldn't get my regular nutramix hp grow medium today. My guy got the new promix hp with a plus on the bag. Says it's better than the old promixhp and the nutramix. Filled up my planters, buffered the medium to 5.8 and nuted the medium to 500ppm 1.0ec and threw the babies in. Received the wick for the aircare last night. Finally have the humidity under control again. TG. April 15th Tonight fed the girls at 500 ppm 1.0 ec, ph'ed at 5.8 Runoff water tested at 620 ppm, 1.24 ec, ph was coming out at 5.9 So., ppm of the promix itself when I first prepared it for transplant was at 500 ppm, 1.0 ec. Adding another 500 ppm and it only coming out at 620 makes me happy knowing a feed was needed. Will be updating the week tomorrow with some new pics. Gelato fast flowers are doing great. Sour diesels are definitely slower growers, a little wonky. The one that had the seed head stuck on it is the slowest grower. Heard some others say that they can be a wonky plant. Any experience with this plant, feel free to throw any tips you might have. Thanks for dropping by.

April 16th 2021 Sour diesel definitely a slower grower than the Gelato fast flower. Plants were transplanted at 10 days old. No shock to the girls. Everyone kept on growing good. The plants are 14 days old today 16 days from when the seeds were planted. Good quick growth in the Gelato, normal growth in the Sour Diesel. Mon. April 19th Fed today at 600 ppm 1.2 ec with a ph of 5.7 Runoff nute levels were 720ppm 1.44 ec Runoff ph levels were 5.8 Straight water next feed. April 21st. Hmm. Hope the girls are not being overfed. Just figured out my nutradip ec and temp probe for my growboss is faulty now. Oh well. 6 yrs. before I had to replace the probe for it and 3 ph probe replacements in that time. The new probe is on order, hoping to receive it before the girls need a feed. Just a water feed the next round. I would recommend the nutradip growboss above all the other brands out there. I have used the growboss alongside the nutradip constant ph monitor to ensure the ph is always proper, and both after a calibration come up with the exact same ph reading...

3 weeks old today the 23rd of April. ppm probe went faulty so overfed by a touch. Just a couple of slightly burnt tips so all is good. New temp/ec probe on order. Straight water until it arrives now. Girls are in full veg mode now running at what I thought was 600 ppm 1.2 ec but is probably more near 700 ppm 1.4 ec with the faulty probe measuring it. Will check against the new probe when I get it. I will go with what was given this time for the next week, seeing as no real damage to the girls. The sour diesel are much slower growers. May not be ready to throw into flower next week, when the Gelato fast flowers are ready.. Watered this evening, runoff was at 600ppm 1.2 ec but a faulty probe reading. Still waiting on a replacement probe for my growboss. Light up to 600 watts from 500 watts. 20 inches above. Thanks for dropping by. Tues. April 27th Still waiting on the new ec probe for my growboss. Unfortunately the girls need a feeding and I may have to use the old probe again. On a better note, the Gelato girls started showing their sex 2 days ago and the Sour Diesel are finally starting to grow a bit quicker. Going to throw the sour diesel to the side for outdoor grow. Their not a good match for growing side by side. Gelato fast flowers are pretty quick growers so the canopy would not be the same. I would have to lift the sour diesel to the height of the gelato and dont want to bother. I'm to old and lazy for any extra work now. This is why I grow the easiest way to grow. Soiless promix hp or nutramix hp rocks. April 29th Unfortunately, my back was out the last few days. Couldn't get down to see the girls. Asked someone, won't mention any names lol, to raise the lights for me. Went down, got doing something else and forgot to raise them. Sitting to close for a day and then way to close the next day ended up with some tip bleaching on some of the girls.. No major damage but the girls took some light and heat stress for sure. Sucks getting old and falling apart. Anyways, back feels much better and back to taking care of the girls again.

28 days It was a rough week for the girls and myself. Through my back out and wasn't able to get down to the plants for a few days. First off my ec probe for my growboss screwed up, finally received the new one. A couple of girls got a few burnt tips. Nothing serious but, I hate stressing plants. Next, through my back out and was laid up a few days. Asked someone, wont mention any names to take a run down and raise lights for me. Long story short, went down to raise my lights and got tinkering with something else and she forgot to raise my lights, and I never asked if she did. Should have known to ask. Oh well. The girls took a little light bleaching on the tips from to much light and heat. Second stress. Damn. Nothing to major again, but, damn. Third, it seem I didn't get the second jug of water to one of the girls the last watering, and it dried out and spotted up some. Have to be more careful with my back in the future. Thanks for dropping by... Sun. May 2nd Last Thursday the girls got a water Ph in 5.7 Ph out 6.0 EC out 300 ppm 0.6 ec Today was feed day Ph in 5.6 Ph out 6.0 Fed at 700 ppm 1.4 EC Runoff 520 ppm 1.04 EC Will likely be switching the lights to 12/12 tomorrow as plants will be reaching 18" their 17" today. May 3rd. Switching light schedule to 12/12 tonight. Tallest at 19", others at 18" Next 2 weeks will be very rapid growth as they transition. Their light feeders so far, and am waiting on new calibration solution to arrive before increasing the EC past the 700 mark. One girl definitely wants more but for now she is on a diet. Their all recovered from the light to close incident. Tips a little bleached but didnt spread to the edges of the leaves. So, I figure their ready to flip. Thanks for dropping by to have a look. May 6th SURPRISE!!!! Calibration solution came but Future Harvest sends a complete tri pack when all I ordered was the ec solution. Nice...Thanks future harvest. Grow Boss rocks.

May 7th Girls were switched to 12/12 last monday. Last night they received a light feed of 420 ppm. 100 ppm of bloom for some root growth and 320 rpm of grow formula. Tallest girl is at 25 inch and most others at 22 and 24 inches. Feeling easy now that the new ec meter and calibration solution has arrived. Ec coming out of the planters are really low. Plants are starting to eat like pigs. 420 ppm in and 300 ppm out. Last feed before this lite feed, I fed at 700ppm, 300 coming out. Ph in was 5.6 ph out was 6.1 Thanks for stopping by. May 10th Girls got a feed today 750 ppm going in 600 ppm on the runoff Ph going in was set at 5.6 Ph out of the runoff was 5.9 Girls are in preflower now May 12th Girl are just about finished their transition. Next week update will switch the diary to say flower. Gave them a preventative dawn soap and water spray yesterday just for piece of mind. Haven't had any gnats this run with the new Promix HP. Extra wind added and I see where the fan constantly hits these girls the tips claw in a bit. Still haven't fed as heavily as most other strains I have grown. Next will be straight water, then half bloom, half veg notes for the next feed day. Girls are at 29 and 28 inches, everything's healthy and happy... AMS Seed Company is sending me 5 free M.O.A.B. fem seeds. Will be doing a diary for testing purposes for this strain. Very expensive breeder to buy here, so very happy to try these seeds their giving me. Thanks for the dropping by..

May 14 Just a few pics until I water the girls tonight. Girls are just starting to flower. Took 11 days to transition. Stretch so far on tallest girl has been 16 inches. Was 19 when I flipped, just under 35 inches now. Evening May 14 Watering day. Ph in 5.6, Ph out 6.1 Runoff check was 420 ppm 0.84 ec. Everything is chugging along smoothe. Hoping on some big arse nugs. That's it for tonight. Thanks for the visit... May 17th A few more bleached tips due to my inability to properly care for the girls right now. Bad time for the switch and stretch. My back is not cooperating and the girls suffer. I need an automatic light lifter that can raise the light 1 or 2 inches a day....Wish someone come up with one for me to buy. May 18th Feed day. 300ppm of floranova grow and 300ppm of the bloom, 100ppm well water for a total of 700ppm, 1.4 ec Runoff water was at 500 ppm, 1.0ec Ph in was 5.8 Ph out was 6.1

These girls are popping along. They don't like much food I have discovered. Anything over 600 ppm and we start to burn tips. Wondering if these fast flower gelato have some auto genetics in them. First time not being able to bring the girls up to 800 ppm. Watered last night, well water ppm 80 and ph'ed the water at 5.9. The runoff was 400 ppm and the ph was at 6.1. Thanks for the support guys, gals. May 25th Girls got their first feed of Massive Bloom Formulation and Floranova bloom last night. Ph in at 6.0 ph out was 6.1 Ec in 1.2 was 600 ppm on the runoff was 600 These Gelato are easily overfed if you go past 600 ppm in veg. Then there is a plant or 2 that it isn't enough at 600 ppm. Not impressed with the different phenos wanting different amounts of feed. I mix one batch and they all get the same. Never came across such a light feeding plant. Wouldn't be so bad being light feeders if they all were light feeders. A little unimpressed with the amount of stretch in these girls as well. The GG#4 never came near this stretch, but I also never removed any leaves through the stretch to stress it at all, due to my damn back. Back feels much better now, hopefully I dont throw it out again. May 27th Last feed was at 600ppm Watered today Added 150 ppm of cal/mg mainly to add in a little nitrogen Ph in at 6.1 and ph out was 6.1 Runoff was at 350 ppm 0.7 ec Next feed will be an increase of 50 ppm to 650 ppm Plants are getting very dank smelling, crystal's forming. Weekly update of pics tomorrow. Thanks for the look.

Took one plant last night the rest today. Will update with pics when finished. First girl was 1 1/2 pounds wet. Drying now. Only had 1 plant that I would have cloned, but decided not to as their a fussy strain in veg. Light feeder in veg, heavy feeder in flower..last feed I did was at 500 ppm and when check today ppm was at 320 so not worrying about a flush now. July 1st. 3 more plants down and trimmed. 5.2 lb wet from these 3 July 6th. The best for last. The big girl... July 12th. All jarred up. Total tally was near or maybe a little over 40 oz.. never weighed what we were smoking or gave to friends. This is some of the nicest tasting hooch I have smoked in a long while. Wife is happy, happy life.... Thanks to all you who have commented and followed this grow. M.O.A.B diary soon to come.

Sorry bout the photos, battery was out so had to use another. Girls are rocking along. Thanks for the look... May 29th Noticed one of the girls in the back has some spidy mites on her, of coarse it has to be the back one to start. Never should have brought my buds skunk clones into the mix. They were covered in thrips and mites. Thought I had got rid of them all, but little bastards are persistent. Sprayed with a little dawn soap and water and killed all alive, now to get the eggs as they hatch...Damn, didn't need this extra work... June3rd Watered with 400ppm of grow and massive. Plants a little yellowing going on. Last feed was at 800 ppm last Tues, with a 600 runoff. The 400 ppm feed today came out at 400 ppm. These girls are light feeders in veg and pigs in bloom. Better for a soil grow I would say. Won't be growing this strain again., unless it really impresses me..Thanks for the peak..

Sorry bout the blurry pics., a little shaky this morning woke up with a sore back. Time for some herbal medicine...super skunk and sour diesel no deficiencies Gelato lots. Very unstable strain in my books. Not good to grow alongside different strains, as they have different needs. Their still flowering nicely though,so I am happy at this point. Gave them some grow and massive bloom formulation, so let's see what happens to the skunk and sour diesel. Bet theyll take on a little shine unfortunately. June 8th Fed the girls last night. 400ppm of Massive bloom formulation 320ppm Floranova bloom 80ppm well water 800 PM total 6.3 ph in 5.9 ph out 800 PM 1.6 ec in and 1.44 ec out Girls are starting to bulk. A strain that didn't like much nitrogen in veg tells for it in bloom. Will not grow this again as it is to unstable for my liking.. Thanks for the view Girls are ready to start bulking up soon... Thanks for the look...

Things are starting to look good in the room. Bulking up nicely so far. Leaves starting to go pale, some gone yellow but seem to be holding with the bit of grow added 2 feeds ago. Planters drying and need watering bad on the third day after watering. 3 to 4 more weeks... Thanks for the peak my friends... June 13th Water day 6.2 ph in 6.1 ph out Last feed a few days ago was at 800ppm and when watered today, runoff was at 420 ppm. Will bring these up to 900 ppm for late mid term flowering for one week, then decrease to 600 ppm the following feed. Will be taking out the massive bloom formulation after the next feed. Promotes foxtailing if you use it to late in flowering. Thanks for the peak. June 15th Feed day, 6.3 ph in at 800 ppm ph out was 6.2 at 600 ppm Girls are getting nice and chubby now. The dank in that room is so bad the wife won't go in now. Looking forward to harvesting soon. Cheers

These girls going into their 6th week of bud is still holding white pistols, a few have started reddening, but most mainly still white and putting on size and weight. Very sticky and very very hard buds. The smell off the fingers is amazing compared to the dank in the room. It literally burns and brings tears to your eyes going into the room. The sour diesel and super skunk are behind these gelato fast flowers., but expected. Thanks for the interest my friends... June 21st I harvested one girl last night. The girl that developed the mites early into flower. Pistols had all oranged up and the triclomes were all cloudy. 12 3/4 ounces trimmed and wet. Nice aroma on the fingers after trimming. Put into my weed hanger for the next few days. Looking forward to the first bud dried enough to try out... Figuring a little more than 3 oz when dried....

Fed the other day at 800 ppm runoff came out at 860 ppm, this is telling me it's time to reduce feed for this week and flush for next. Exciting times...Took a plant early and ended up with not quite 3 oz.. Very nice tasting weed, just a hint of fruit and I can't explain the rest. Just very enjoyable taste. Very smoothe smoking going in, and a little rough after it's in there, expands the lungs some. Buzz is very uplifting. Wasn't quite ready yet, but very impressed. Looking forward to the remainder harvest... Thanks for the peak... July 2nd Took 1 down last night, no pics, one this morning total of the two wet is 3.6 lbs wet. Some nice big bugs and absolutely rock solid. I'm impressed...

Just trimmed. More info when dried. 34 1/2 ounces wet between the 2 sour diesel a the 1 super skunk. The One SD and the super skunk were small plants but some heavy bugs on there. Sour diesel had a lot of triple branch buds. Instead of cutting a bud from each upside of the stem, I was cutting 3. Thanks for all the kind words to all my friends. Been a better or bigger harvest than I expected. Started jarring as the layers dry on the Gelato. Have to update that diary as well. Took the last one down today and she was a biggie.... This diesel isnt as awful tasting or the crappy smell left after smoking. Actually very pungent with a hint of pine to it. Little earthy as well...strong effects but no couch lock as I took a little early. Like active buzz rather than dumber down, so I took when trichs were all milky...

@TrickOrTrip, Thanks my friend. It's a new strain for me and one of the lightest feeders I have ever come across. Light and fert sensitive so it's me adjusting to their needs. Hope I have it dialed in now as you can see from the burnt tips and a few leaves clawed. I have them happy,,at the moment lol....

@AstroBoy, yes unfortunately. I seen how up the leaves were praying on that girl, then I thought, no, it don,t look right and got closer with my reading glasses on and sure enough. Stress praying from those little buggers. I will keep up with the sprinse for another week. Their almost done the building of the buds and the bulking should start next week.

@BioBuds, simple answer to that is, I can fill my space and grow most photoperiod out in 14 to 15 weeks from seed. Training takes so much longer and wouldn't be able to fit as many girls as I do. Next answer is when problems arise, it is to hard to get to the back with a scrog net in place. Next I have been doing this for 45 years and I simply don't want the extra work and time involved anymore. I was a water grower, RDWC but with age come bad backs and this peat grow is simply the easiest and pret near as quick as the RDWC with no need for extra cal/mg, so a little cash saved there as well. The training I am doing right now is just to slow these girls down so that the Gelato can finish the next 5 weeks. I actually had a few problems this go. Had to replace my ph probe for my growboss, but that was before my grow. I use 2 nutradip ph probes at the same time to make sure the ph is always bang on. Then the ec/temp probe screwed up so had to replace that. That's where most of the brown tips came from unfortunately. Any how. Thanks for answering my question my friend. @GMSgrows, may I ask why ony the LST then and not topping or fimming and SOG for instance? Or a manifold? With your growspace ad light I would make it an Ocean of Green, maybe one little footpath or ill crawl under the caopy :P I see the plant wants to stretch, all the Gelato #33 diaries have the same type of grow and deficiencies. About that sulphur deficiency we encountered, I prematurely blamed my PH being too low. But you feed at 5.8.... So thats not it, unless you had a ph meter problem like me aswell. After that I blamed my soil being depleted. With only a couple of weeks organic startfeed in the soils I used, this was a plausibel theory but can be binned cause you don't have soil.... So we can also exclude the growlights, I have Led, you have HPS. Then we have remaining: some substance in our feed interferes with sulphur uptake, something in our climates, we both had the lights too close for a period. Or the plants are just sulphur gobblers... So handy to have these grows next to each other! Good luck! So there is some

@xbrico, I don't really like when they get so tall, buds are never as big, but I have read where some gelato get many buds, not as big but tight little and lots of nuggies. We will see. Thanks for the looks and comments my friend...

@SeaGrow, Thanks my friend.. I am figuring 2 more weeks. Took the plant that had some mites down the other night. Wasn't doing much after the fight the mite bout, so checked it out. No mites left but it was just ripening early. No amber trichs, but all clouded over, and all the pistol had orangered so took her a little early to have a taste. Was still a pretty good haul though. Not as much as the other girls but I am figuring a little over 3 oz dry. Might be able to try it in a day or 2..

I see u also had the sulphur shortage, with the reddish hue o the leaves. my gelatos too. Very nice plants, very curious to see what you harvest. Your plants are bigger in two weeks less. Im at 8 weeks but I have smaler space so I fim, LST and HST them to get canopy. You have the soilless setup but also the 1000 watt HPS.... Oh my... Still same problem with the sulphur deficiency... I thought it was cause of my compost tea or soil but thse guys eat S for breakfast lunch and dinnee.... Final week fo you, Im folowing for results good luck!!

@SeaGrow, Thanks bro. They had some recovering due to my back going out on me, and not being able to get down to the girls for a few days. Also had my ec probe screw up so didn't really know how much I was feeding them. All in all they are looking pretty good and I expect some nice nugs soon. Their on12/12 now since monday, so they should be throwing flower by the end of next week.

@GMSgrows, there is definately politics going on with the select your answer bit of the growquestions. People seem to have more questions during certain contests. What I find sad is that I cant add to the Newbie competition cause my harvest isnt done yet. And when its done Im probably not a newbie anymore... Dont sweat it. Keep answering, enough new people without the 'network' to get your win evey once in a while. For me the win is what we harvst every 3 to 4 mnths and I use the growquestions as a way to train my diagnose and observational skills.

@Rabidreject, people accusing people of cheating in some of the contests. Some get jealous cuz they cant grow as good as you. Just some really woke libtards here as well.

@GMSgrows,oh really? That’s interesting. Like doing what? I’m pretty serious about this sh!t, being in prohibition land. Also I’m hooked, line and sinker! I just can’t stop growing my own medicine. What do you think about the situation with Dina fem? Their plants always looks really fat. Always wanted to grow both them and humboldt. Oh well! Shame I didn’t stock up on seeds before brexit tbh, there have been a few seed companies that arnt shipping to the uk anymore like RQS, sweet seeds and barneys farm also. Lucky I got sent a load of free barneys seeds, trouble is they are photoperiod but if there comes a time I don’t have anything they are at the back of my freezer.
