this is day 9 since all three seeds broke the soil surface. I'm very happy with the way all of the plants have started off. I plan on moving the 2 photo period females outdoor once they have outgrown the quart size starter pots and the weather is no long er an issue with the possibility of night temperatures dropping below 32f in the south. mid next month should be just perfect assuming the rate of growth continues.
I used recharge for the first time this grow and although my plants have good roots in the past they developed them quicker with recharge at 1/2 tsp per gallon once a week.
all 3 plants in 5 gallon fabric pots now and starting to grow at a quicker pace. looks like both fimmed plants have rebounded nicely and should start getting bushier.
can't believe how fast the watermelon zkittlez auto is starting to grow. white widow is growing a little better since its over the fimming about 10 days ago. the skunk 1 plant is now outdoors and has greener up as well as began to grow faster. can beat real sunshine for growing.
still looking good especially the autoflower. no skunk 1 pics because it's now relocated outdoors and a fair distance from my house but I will be walking to it in the morning and will post some pictures on the next entry
plants still doing well. the watermelon zkittlez auto is showing signs of flowering which is about right according to barneys farm where I bought the seeds.
41 days since germination. the watermelon zkittlez auto is in early flower and the white widow is really growing. no pictures of the skunk 1 plant because I put it outdoors. I will have some on my next entry
Tying down branches for better light penetration. Looks like its going to have quite a lot of outside bud sites despite not topping or fimming this one.really like the structure.
Pretty good amount of stretch has happened over the last 4 or 5 days. Its 24 days since I first noticed pistils and I should start seeing some !real! bud growth and less new pistils. Cant wait
Buds continue to fatten up and produce more bud leaf than pistils. A few trichome are starting to show on some of the smaller leaves. Looking forward to the 2nd half of the flower cycle and watching the flowers mature. Gotta remain patient.
All growth is focused on fattening up flowers now.the upright growth has stopped at a nice height of 34 inches which is right around barneys farms description of this strain. That alone makes me happy since so many times I've heard about or seen plants not even close to the specifications described about that particular strain. It's also starting to give off a nice aroma of sweet and skunky. Cant wait to see and smell how it is once harvest time rolls around. Trichomes are covering the small leaves throughout the flowers. From here on it just gets better and better everytime you look at the buds. Gotta be patient though. I love this part of the grow cycle .its like Christmas every day I check the grow out.
Buds continue to mature and get bigger. The smell is stronger with each passing day. Had a few mealy bugs on it I removed by hand. No damage from them at all. I'm going to start flushing tomorrow since I gave it the last feeding yesterday. The trichomes are 50%cloudy 50%clear with 60% of the pistils turned so I may end up holding off a few more days before flushing. I will decide late tomorrow depending on the changes from now if any. So excited its getting close😏😏😏😏
Started flushing this week. I used Dyna gro's flushing agent at half of the recommended rate the 1st and 2nd time watering . The rest of the time just plain water and things seem to be lining up nicely. I'm about completely flushed with less than 50ppm TDS in the runoff with the harvest coming tomorrow or Sunday at the latest. Next posting will be after the harvest. 😁👍😆👍😊👍
Finished up flushing with tds at 46 ppm and that was checked with one watering left before I gave her about 30 hours in the dark . After that I started taking buds and getting them ready for the drying rack. The root system from this strain was super impressive. I used recharge for the first time and I'm convinced that it was a contributor to having better and bigger roots along with coco coir, perlite and worm castings as the medium. Next post will be the harvest post with final stats for the plant and my thoughts on how the strain is. I'm expecting to love it considering the results from similar grows.
All in all I'm extremely satisfied with this grow. Barneys farm has a definite winner with watermelon zkittlez auto. It took 84 days from germination to harvest which was a few weeks longer than the description of the strain. Its definitely potent and is as close to everything in the specifics on barneys farm website as any strain I've ever grown. I will be growing this strain again in both the autoflower as well as photoperiod.. After just a week in curing jars that pungent fruity aroma is emerging over any grassy smell which I'm extremely happy about. Cant wait for the ounce I've put away to cure for 3 months or so to be ready .I can imagine how nice it will smell and taste with a good cure
