Day 14, week 2 is here and the girls are looking a little better, but still look small. I think I watered them too close together earlier in the week, so I let the medium dry out for the past couple of days. I'm using my soil meter again to test how moist the medium is, as well as by feel.
I have noticed that I have been a inconsistent with my light brightness this past week as I tried to combat the heat and humidity, probably causing some undue stress. My highest temp this week was about 85F and the highest RH being about 71%. I did try to drop both down as much as I could and was able to get both numbers down to a reasonable range within about a day. Right now, I'm at about 60-75% power with my light which seems to be the sweet spot at this moment.
I also have not been checking the ph of my soil, which could be an issue as well, but hopefully not. This week I plan just to water and wait till next week, to feed and maybe start my LST.
Overall nothing really new, the plants are now side by side, as opposed to catty corner (diagonal) to each other, to try and maximize my light usage.
Watered the plants today with 350ml at a ph of about 6.04. After using my 3-in-1 medium tester, saw it reading the ph of the soil at closer to 8. Here's to hoping!
Update on day 16: After watering, the girls kinda exploded over night! These pics are from today and they look amazing! Although one seems to be a bit different from the other, the consistency of everything has been pretty much equal. At this point, I'm just trying to keep them happy. I do believe that I will have to look closer at watering as I continue now.
@80s_Oni, I know what you mean...I got mine for the purpose of monitoring my soil PH and you are exactly right it would never read lower than 7...I will say that I gave them to my brother for use in his outdoor gardening and they seems to do fairly better...but yeah when I make my teas I try to keep it between 6.5 and 6.8 but recently I have only been using teas just before switching to flower...I am currently working on not a living soil but assembling a living ecosystem for my girls...it is so much that can be learned and applied just from one plant that I believe if you can truly master this art then you will also truly master self...Enjoy the Experience and Grow Strong!
@@Trumptight420, at first I was using it mainly for watering purposes, because it seemed the pH reader wouldn't go any further down than like 7.5, even when I was dropping my water to 5.9 or so. Now as I'm learning more on how the girls drink normally, I don't use it. But I'm in the same boat. I'll get there eventually, but just feeling out the grow and I'll dial it in with each grow. I normally try to stay between 6.2 and 6.5 with my water and teas.
