Started a Chef Anna Casserole bean to rotate into my perpetual harvest autoflower tent. This seed is from a random selection, bred using Mephisto genetics so I’m excited to see how it goes. This is also my first run in coco, so I amended it with Dr Earth 2-2-2 at what I believe is double strength.
So far. I’m very used to how soil and peat hold water, so I’m not sure how to feel about the coco. I’ve got plants in organic composted mix, coco mix, and peat mix this season. I’m going to see what works best for me and move forward from there.
Happy growing y’all!
This little lady stayed warm and humid in a simple space tote that I made. She’s not stretching at all, but I suppose that’s a good thing. I have noticed an odd mildew like smell coming from this fabric pot and coco. I washed both before this grow. The fabric pots and coco water much differently than the soil and pails I’m used to, so they will take some time to adjust.
After her week of incubating in the tote, I’ve moved her into the tent with the mature plants. She’ll enter the rotation there as part of my perpetual grow.
The seedling started looking a little distressed this week. Given coco is inert and my organic nutrients need time to break down in the soil, I gave a half dose feeding of Fox farm synthetic nutrients.
Waited a little longer than I should to start feeding this one, but now it’s really starting to take off. I’m hoping I can get some good veg growth and build a frame for later flowering.
This girl is a bit small from some early life stunting, but she will likely flower well. Keeping a close eye on runoff water to see what works. All of my other grows are organic soil blends, where this one is coco. I’d like to keep her ph a little low and ppm are 500 or so just to be safe and see what happens.
Thanks for reading. Cheers!
She’s blasting off now. The lst has produced a bunch of tops and I’m starting to get signs of pre flowers. I’ll be doing some lollipop and defoliation later in the week as the start their preflower stretch.
