D8 (April 29) - 🌱№² lagging, expect to transplant tomorrow. Fertigation sprout #1 0.4EC | pH6.1
D9 - 🌱№² root emerging slightly from bottom of pellet. Transplant to saturated coco jiffy pot. Fertigation 0.4 EC | pH 6.2.
🌱№¹ notably broader and sturdier. Appears to be tolerating current conditions well.
D10 (📅 1st March) - No news is good news. Fertigation @ 0.5EC| 6.2pH.
D11 - 🌱№¹ still the ⭐. 🌱№² dwarfed by her sisterling. Fertigation @ 0.5EC | 6.2pH
D12 - 🌱№¹ visible roots emerging through bottom of pot. Expect 2-3 more days before root system has colonized the media and seedling has grown 3 true sets of leaves/nodes.
❌ Issues (mistakes and concerns):
⛔🌡️Accidentally left a small heater running overnight - coco bone dry in both seedling pots.
⛔💧Forgot to pH water prior to Fertigation. Likely 6.5-6.7. Watered again @ 0.4EC|6pH immediately and + 12 hrs with significant run-off to counter any salt buildup from the dry wet cycle.
🔎⚠️ 🌱№² slight leaning noticed over last few days. Initially dismissed the sign as a natural lean towards the light source. Noted a small bend in the base of the stem at the coco. Seedling bent to side of pot when watering overnight forcing intervention. Temporarily displaced coco on top to find part of the stem underneath. Theory for the cause of this incident is the seed was planted too deep into the jiffy pellets after germination (I did mentally note this at the time however given I am still learning I decided to leave them a bit deeper than previous attempts to see if the seedlings are stronger for having to push further to break free. Lesson learned.
Rectified leaning stem by pushing down on the pellet area against the lean. This immediately erected the stem and allowed me to fortify the stems adjusted position with extra coco from the sides of the pot. media.
